Any idea what I should do?

As far as I’m aware she contacted her bank and cancelled her card.

Mads96 · 20/09/2023 20:53

Makeup revolution at superdrug is a good price, I’d recommend the eyeshadow palettes then get some cheap brushes from b&m or Poundland. Maybe get some tinted lip balms too and a clear mascara. Collection is a good cheap brand too or elf- can also get these in superdrug 😊

Does anyone have any recommendations for starter make up sets? My 7 year really really wants make up, but I really really don’t want to get the stuff in Claire’s and the like, just because it reminds me of the stuff that gave me a horrible reaction when I was a kid!

Bonus points for bargains obviously, but I’d rather pay a bit more for something better, if that makes sense.

My previous message was for you sorry!

Worrywortlady · 20/09/2023 20:55

Loving the deals so far, thanks everyone. Looking to buy a new shark hoover, anyone know a way to get more than 10% off? Sorry, not Christmassy but essential!!

Niche question but does anyone have any suggestions for a family member of mine who is an old-fashioned socialist, I once got them a Vive Le Revolution candle that went down extremely well, looking for something equally political but light-hearted. I am trawling Etsy but not found quite the right thing yet.

The People's History Museum in Manchester has a lovely shop and café. (Good museum too). The online shop is shut at the mo sadly, but if you're anywhere near there....

Teenage DS wants a smart watch/fitness tracker.

Has anyone seen any good offers - or should I wait till Black Friday?.

How about https://blackandbeech.com/? They’re more feminist than socialist but they have some lovely stuff that might hit the mark.

Just managed to order 12 ty beanies (new seasonal ones for £62)
2 are Halloween ones and I ordered one for dd bff.. so 9 are for Christmas. Dd is an avid collector and I always get her Christmas ones every year. It was on a website called temptation gifts.
2 of the smaller ones will go in her Christmas Eve box, 2/3 for her stocking and the rest from me and her db.

Thanks for all the great offers so far. Looking for some inspiration. We sponsor a ten year old girl in Africa and suggested gifts are stationery, small games.etc. We have sent every version of pen, markers, stickers over the years. The problem is presents must fit in an a4 envelope and be very light for posting. I'm in Ireland so probably amazon ideas best as no crazy postage but wondering if you clever crowd have any ideas that I haven't come up with yet. Thanks a mil!

Twinklemacfinkle · 20/09/2023 23:18

How about some bead bracelets? They are very light and loved by all girls.
Some lip balms or face masks. My daughter is 13 and has loved facemasks for a few years now.
Stationery is always a winner with my daughter particularly those pens which you click to change the ink colour ( I hope that makes sense). Notebooks or small sketch books are good for any age.

Itsallthelittlethings · 20/09/2023 23:46

Thanks @Twinklemacfinkle I never thought of bracelets-maybe a kit so she can make her own. Yes I know exactly the type of pens you are talking about have sent them before. And never really thought of lipbalms or anything like that but I'd say they'll be a lovely treat. Thanks so much.

• Cyanotype paper
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Baker-Ross-Print-Paper-print/

• Assortment of vintage postal stamps - sets from all across the world can be bought off Etsy, Amazon or eBay, and you can mount them on good quality card in nice arrangements

• Origami book with paper included
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Amazing-Origami-Kit-Traditional-Japanese is an example of what I mean. I've personally gifted the National Trust one (for children 7-13, maybe?) but it's larger than A4 I think.

Lowest price according to Camel Camel Camel. Love these puzzles.

sorryiasked · 21/09/2023 06:26

@Itsallthelittlethings how about some period pants too

YorkshireWelsh · 21/09/2023 06:29

@Yoyoyo1I’d try Smyths for Lego Friends. They’ve got some quite good deals at the moment; the one that stuck out to me was the Sea Rescue Boat, which is £75 full price but £40 on there. I’ve become obsessed with the price of it as DS4 loves it, because it has a rubbish catcher 😂

Well I just emailed Glossybox about my order and they are now telling me it is out of stock (3 mystery boxes and the for you box). They still seem to have mystery boxes in stock but obviously at £10.

Not very impressed with that - not sure they would have ever told me it was cancelled if I hadn't emailed. Won't be shopping there again.

I’ve received the 2 shaving boxes but haven’t received my 3 mystery boxes yet either. Had they refunded you @JessieJoJames ? I haven’t seen any refund on my account.
