A heads up for the grumm boxes if you are as idiotic as me !!

In the bottom is a face cloth ? or something wrapped in brown paper...err the same brown colour as the box !

I would have thrown it out with the polystyrene stuff !!

bizzey · 02/09/2023 17:19

STUDIO have things on sale at the moment.

I got some nice t shirts and shirts for adult men.

I have used this company quite a few times and never had a problem.

£4.99 delivery per order though so not one to do a bit at a time.

It's a credit one but I just pay in full.

Haveyoubrushedyourteeth · 02/09/2023 17:20

Apologies if it's already been mentioned, but Boots 3 for 2 on Christmas gifts has just started on their website.

bizzey · 02/09/2023 17:21

Hey ho ..hey ho....off to Boots I go !
🤣
Thank you .

BlueLu · 02/09/2023 17:42

Just had this escape room calendar delivered, I can't remember how much people paid last year but it's £22 so I think it's a good price. I was ordering not a bargain birthday present so used it to get free delivery too.

Haha @bizzey I missed it as well! Because it said 8 full sized products I pulled them all out and counted there was 8. It was only because I took the packing peanuts out to shove down DS top I even noticed it was there!

bizzey · 02/09/2023 19:15

🤣🤣🤣🤣!

Filterphobia · 02/09/2023 19:41

Following with interest.

I’ve got a list of ideas for DS1 (11) and DS2 (10). Most of it is from Argos or Smyths. Do they usually have discount codes for these places? I’m just wondering if it worth waiting or just buying now as I always worry stuff will go out of stock.

I’m sure I’ve seen things at Smyths before like £5 off £50 or £10 off £100 spend. Also, do Argos still do that thing where if you spend so much you get a free gift voucher for your next purchase?

ThreeRingCircus · 02/09/2023 19:45

I went into my local Entertainer store today and they had lots of good offers. Bakugan figures down from £10 each to £3.33. I'm not sure if the offer is in store only or is online too but I picked a few up for the school birthday party presents box.

gawditswindy · 02/09/2023 20:47

Thanks for the Hungry Hippos tip @Flubadubba! It was one I was considering for the DDs so this is a bonus.

Hibbutyhop · 02/09/2023 20:57

I’ve ordered two yoto minis (thanks to the great tip off on here) and am now having a little panic that they might arrive in branded packaging which would TOTALLY give the game away. My DD doesn’t miss a trick! I don’t suppose anyone would know how they normally arrive?!

Edited

Thank you - there's another one too, so that will be an early Christmas present for two of my geeky types

SgtCatherineCawood · 02/09/2023 22:19

I am in two minds about the escape room advent calendar for DS. He likes "stuff" and I don't know if he'd be happy without something physical every day! He liked his fidget toy one last year!

Soscrewed · 02/09/2023 23:58

Loving all the biscuit and vase sheep chat. I think I posted them both originally and didn't order either (😇) but the more you all post the more I get FOMO.

Must resist...

bizzey · 03/09/2023 00:04

@Soscrewed ...nooo !
You must resist the resistance...go to the dark side and buy them 🤣🤣!

They really are fab little offers so thank you again .

bizzey · 03/09/2023 00:10

I am so torn about the escape room advent calendar 😞.

DS and gf have just moved into their 1st flat together (that was a surprise to me !...)

I am not going o be able to see them till about November...and thought it would be a fun house warming/early Christmas present for them .( Both love escape rooms )

But I can't ins the postage upfront.

I would have to go all the way to details etc to check out to know.

Anyone know what the postage is ?

Bigdoglittledog2 · 03/09/2023 00:40

What age did people start to get their kids the advent calendars from look fantastic etc?

My daughters just turned 12 and hasn’t asked for one yet but Iv debated buying her one anyway.

But now I’m thinking I should probably wait until she actually wants one and save myself a hundred pounds this year!

BlairWaldorfOG · 03/09/2023 01:23

@bizzey Royal Mail Tracked was £3 I believe.

bizzey · 03/09/2023 01:57

Ohh thank you BlairW
That seems reasonable.

If site is good I will go for it .

Will be fun for them for their 1st Christmas in their own home .

Famousthehero · 03/09/2023 07:16

Free delivery at Lakeland this weekend…

Turtleoo · 03/09/2023 07:20

@Hibbutyhop when I bought a yoto mini it came in a brown box but did have yoto printed on it (fairly subtly). I was glad DS had no idea what it was at the time.

We have their yoto club and I can't order any cards as a surprise as the card envelopes have yoto on as well as he recognises it now 🙄

You'll have to plan a distraction when you know it's about to arrive!

I'm the same. My dd has just turned 13 and hasn't asked for one yet. I get one every year so it would be double the expense for me. She's so far happy with a fancy chocolate one and this year I've also stashed a funko pop one which came on offer earlier in the year (she's obsessed with funkos) so I think I've got away with it for another year. She does wear make up but it quite fussy about what she buys so I think a lot of the products in a beauty advent would be wasted.

XiCi · 03/09/2023 08:32

I think if I did get her one it would be a cheaper make up one like revolution which she'd probably turn her nose up at anyway. She's all about the Dior lip gloss 🤣

BlueLu · 03/09/2023 08:35

@bizzey I didn't post until mine arrived because I hadn't used the site before. But I ordered Wednesday evening and it came Saturday so definitely legit.

I haven't had the calendar before, but we have done 3/4 board game type escape rooms from the same company and they have been really good. I've paid anything between £6 and £13 for them, a site called zatu games usually has good offers if you search exit games on their website. I've used them a few times so happy to recommend.
