I put the odd balls order in ...and got a free gift !

Chose the ladies socks pack of 4 so ds's girlfriend is sorted as well

😂😂!

1stTimeMama · 30/08/2023 23:34

@Yeknom and @Raggeo is it a bit like the Toot Toot sets? We had lots of those years ago, and they were so frustrating to put together and found them really flimsy. They'd often get bored waiting for me to build it all!

bizzey · 30/08/2023 23:40

Obviously ds's girlfriend is going to get more than 4 pairs of socks !

TheresNoTelescreen · 30/08/2023 23:51

Big marble rush fans in this house! 6 year old builds his own tracks now but 3 year old is going to need a lot of help. So much fun though. If you want to invest less time the Galt marble runs are simple to put together.

WetFlump · 31/08/2023 00:22

@jamrolypolyandcustard this tub full of sea creatures is what my son uses in the bath, £10, or in the 2 for £15 section at argos

Hickry · 31/08/2023 00:33

A bath toy recommendation from me: the green company do bath toys. They're made from recycled plastic. They do a submarine, a tug boat, a sea plane, etc. They're a good size. We have the sub and the tug boat, both can be taken apart to clean inside. They've very sturdy nice toys.

TK maxx often have them at a really good price. Definitely worth keeping an eye out for. Mines been playing with them for three years and counting now.

@Laney79 Octonauts toys are often on Vinted if that helps? I bought a huge bundle on there last Christmas for £25.

This little shop has 50% off stock with code SUMMER2023

It’s eco/wooden stuff mostly, they seem to have lots of steiff stuffed animals, also some tractor ted bits, baby toys, wooden plates etc

think it will sell out fast as they seem to have only 1 of most things (I’ve never shopped there before, just follow on insta)

Thank you SO much for this, I’d never seen this shop before, but managed to get a massive haul of Tractor Ted toys plus wooden farm figures for £30 - pretty much sorts out my 3yo!!

Yeknom · 31/08/2023 07:53

@1stTimeMama weirdly mine could do the toot toot track (blast from the past, I think I can still sing the police car one!). Another option for a marble run is the duplo compatible one if you're a Lego house? I can't remember what it's called though sorry!

Crimsonbow · 31/08/2023 08:04

@1stTimeMama I got a marble rush set last year for my then nearly 5 year old and they could do it but my 3 year old needed a lot of help. Now they're nearly 4 and can build independently, but not the actual planned track.

I love it as a toy that they can grow with and play together.

VeruccaSalty · 31/08/2023 08:28

We love the Hape marble runs but they don't lock together so very easy to knock over! Also not cheap so worth sticking a Gumtree alert on for one.

Vebrithien · 31/08/2023 08:59

Can anyone remember a roll up car track, that could go down stairs?

It may have been from the threads last year or the year before.

I think it was a reddish colour, probably a silicon/rubber type material.

Thank you

Vebrithien · 31/08/2023 09:00

I can also very much recommend the Galt marble run, my 3 year old DS can put it together, and the expansion packs are good fun too.

coffeetofunction · 31/08/2023 09:02

I've been in to minds to mention this because I feel for all the staff that are losing their jobs but I realise the sale will still happen. I went RL shopping yesterday and popped to Wilko's. I got lots of stocking fillers at ridiculously low prices. Crafts sets, bedding, Christmas bits, stationery. Spent about £60 and got about £100 worth of things. If you have one I'd take a look

Salted caramel shortbread in a tin £3.50 on amazon here

Apparently they are £11.50 I john lewis. I personally think this still seems expensive, but saw on playpennies and it might be night if you are making a wee hamper or something.

Vebrithien · 31/08/2023 09:22

@Famousthehero yes! That's the one!

Now, next question ...

Has anyone got one? I seem to remember some concerns about them not unrolling properly.

Glad a few of you got make up organisers too.

Sainsburys have lots of stationary 70% off in my local store. Got DD a beautiful journal for under £2.

tabbycat985 · 31/08/2023 10:00

These Amazon smart plugs are discounted but then there is an extra clickable voucher that takes them down to £6, the voucher only seems to work once.
I love these for our Christmas trees so I don't have to crawl behind them😂

Raggeo · 31/08/2023 10:13

@1stTimeMama It's not flimsy. I'd say the pieces are quite robust. The building block pieces aren't too tricky to stack but clipping parts on and off of them is too tricky for little ones.

I am buying for adult ds's ....but oh my ...all the marble run links are making me twitch !😁.

We had so much fun with them ...

I could really see the 3 of them setting up a new one in the hallway and trying it out ...

Off to decide how sensible I need to be this Christmas!

Go for it, I'm sure they'll have a blast! And who wants to be sensible at Christmas?!

stupidtia · 31/08/2023 10:53

Thanks for this, just bought one for the same reason!! 😆
