What London family Christmas stuff have you booked already?!

Last few years it’s occurred to me to book this sort of thing in about November when it’s too late.

So tell me. What lovely Christmas stuff should I be booking? Primary aged kids.

Sorry for talking about Christmas in July!

I've only booked Panto at the palladium so far but not for toddlers I don't think. How about outdoor ice skate?

quitefranklyabsurd · 31/07/2023 20:43

Not quite London but Koke t - Christmas at Bedgebury pinetum

NuffSaidSam · 31/07/2023 20:44

There's a Christmas board for this sort of thing.

But a Santa visit? Kew Gardens light display thing? A panto or other Christmas show?

Charley50 · 31/07/2023 20:44

Christmas Carol at the Old Vic is meant to be brilliant.

Tooearlybutdontwanttomiss · 31/07/2023 20:44

My twins are seven - so that’s the sort of age range (definitely not toddlers). Panto sounds good! Looking that up!

Ooh yes never done Kew before. That’s one I always look at too late!

Santa sounds good. Any truly special ones? This will probably be the last (ish) year my children “believe”!

It's bloody July. How to people live like this? Enjoy the summer with your kids and stop wishing your life away. So sad.

SBAM · 31/07/2023 20:57

Depending on where you are the Epping-Ongar railway Santa special is lovely, a ride on a steam train, Santa comes to meet you in the carriages.

I 2nd this. Fabulous time last year!

Proofinthepudding · 31/07/2023 21:00

So do I it's just that I concentrate on living in the moment with my kids not perpetually trying to plan 6 months ahead. Not normal. And no one loves Christmas in July.

Because if you don't book stuff in July it all sells out by October. I don't think the OP asking what panto to book is "wishing her life away" really 😂

Why click on this?
The title gives away the content !

If a post is "How do I cook rare steak" or "What's the best gin" I scroll by because neither interest me .

Yes it's July
But how many people will be frantically posting I cannot get a turkey/A Barbie/a train to Glasgow , I've left it too late because they don't plan?

Autumndays22 · 31/07/2023 21:04

You could ask why people book Summer holidays in Winter. Some things need booking in advance

Minesril · 31/07/2023 21:06

Home Alone at the albert hall. Film on big screen while live orchestra/choir provide the soundtrack! DS9 loves home alone so really looking forward to it.

It’s not wishing your life away to be organised! So many of the good things book up in the summer. We booked our panto tickets back in April.

Disney on ice would be nice but suspect you might already be too late for decent seats as tickets went out a few months ago.

Realfastfoodie · 31/07/2023 21:21

I think there’s a big difference between joyful anticipation and wishing your life away. Thanks for the prompt - have just booked Kew!

Carsarelife · 31/07/2023 21:36

The Polar express - if you've never been it's a must

Motnight · 31/07/2023 21:51

Kew - booked in January as always leave it too late!

I really really love Christmas in July 🤣🎄

LBOCS2 · 31/07/2023 21:53

I've just booked family carols at St Martin in the Fields. I need to get on and book panto. DDs are going to be 11 and 7, so I think this may be the last year we do a visit to Father Christmas for both; I think I've missed Ruxley but might try for Polhill?

Carsarelife · 01/08/2023 06:51

@BellyDancer124 problem is if you don't think about Xmas in July and start booking stuff it gets sold out. I've booked The Polar Express in May before
