Here's our new thread. Almost missed that it was needed!

Can somebody add the countdown again please, as I've no clue! 🤣🤣

I wonder if you'll get checked on payment in Sainsbury's for the next god knows how long, Wreck?! Thankfully, the only time I've forgotten, I wasn't checked (pack of baby corn which wouldn't scan). Xmas Blush

I've just had a perusal of the Sainsbury Food ( not the turkey, beef . fish, seafood or bacon as I don't eat it .

Probably too earrly for them to have everything listed

Very nice looking Christmas desserts on there though Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 17/09/2023 18:53

The chocolate snowflakes looked amazing. Should do for £2 each though! 🤣🤣

I hope not fluffy! Annoyingly I had an ‘older’ lady doing the rescan and it took forever plus she made me go over to a belt as she wanted more room (I only had four bags!). If I was going to try and steal something I’d have chosen something more expensive 😅

I agree than the puddings sound really nice. I love chocolate orange, who is it that doesn’t like it?

Someone very odd! 🤣 (At least one of Buck's family, maybe?)

I love chocolate orange so definitely not me.

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 17/09/2023 20:59

Yup. It's one of mine that doesn't like chocolate orange weirdo

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/09/2023 21:13

My DS is very fussy with foods and won;t try anything new willingly .
Or eat nuts .Or drink tea or coffee ( yes he's an Odd One)

But even HE loves Chocolate Orange Xmas Grin

I only eat chocolate on special occasions -not that I don't like chocolate , but I've managed to pretty much wean myself off it . I won't say I've given up , that seems too final.
Niedergger Chocolate Marzipan with Kirsch cherries this year .

Morning!

It's wet here. Thankfully it stayed dry for the dog walk, so we weren't soggy!

I'm seeing my surgeon again today. For the carpal tunnel, not the shoulder. #fallingapart

I started my 4th cross stitch Christmas card last night. Realised I'd used red, not dark red, on the penguin's scarf. Decided nobody is going to know, so left it as is. 🤷‍♀️ It's only a penguin's scarf, after all. Xmas Grin

anyone follow Newfoodsuk on IG they have been posting a few christmas limited editions coming out this year,

DH is very excited about the mint terrys choc orange, and M&S have blonde chocolate caramel filled trees that i am going to have to investigate!

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 18/09/2023 13:17

I'm taking advantage of DH being away to crack on with some deep cleaning. I've just hoovered the porch - it was looking very Halloweeny 😳 In my defence we don't use the front door much.

I've done about 3 weeks of the HGP this morning 😂

Morning!

It's ☔️ 🌧️ ☔️🌧️☔️🌧️ here. I'm very wet as is the dog. Some of the roads round here are veritable lakes!

I saw my surgeon yesterday. I need another MRI to rule out neck issues before he treats for carpal tunnel. I hate MRI scans as I'm claustrophobic. 😫😫

CrazyBaubles · 19/09/2023 09:54

Morning. Very wet (and wintery) here.

Absolutely nothing Christmassy going on in my house right now. My dm is in hospital with Covid and while she seems to be on the mend, it's been a scary and stressful few days, especially as it all happened while I was in Liverpool.
My DH has earned himself some serious husband points because he was the one who looked after her, called the ambulance etc, packed a hospital bag and kept everyone updated. Plus he cleaned the whole house while I was gone.
He deserves a medal!

I am tired and work is busy, plus DHs school is having an inspection next week so he's v v stressed.

I'll maybe start giving some thought to Christmas when dm's turned a corner and the stress levels in the house come down a bit 😳

When is your MRI likely to be Fluffy?

NoWordForFluffy · 19/09/2023 10:26

Goodness, Crazy. I hope your mum recovers soon. Well done to your DH for sorting stuff too!

I had to take my MRI booking form to the radiology dept and they'll post an appt to me. So I don't know yet.

Then I'm back to see the bloody surgeon again. We'll be exchanging cards at Christmas at this rate, I've seen him so much in the last year. Xmas Grin

Crazy stormy here this morning, we have a flood warning in place so a bit nervous about driving to work

Hopingforno2in2023 · 20/09/2023 07:32

I really hope your mum is better soon @CrazyBaubles

WreckTangled · 20/09/2023 08:04

Crazy so stressful for you, you never seem to catch a break!

Hoping, you’ll be fine just look out for puddles and ignore anyone who thinks it’s fine to still drive really fast.

Nothing exciting going on here to report. Really windy though.

NoWordForFluffy · 20/09/2023 08:14

Morning!

Another grim day here today. Autumn has definitely made its presence known.

I have a cold and feel rotten today. Hopefully it shifts itself soon.

OP posts:
HairsprayBabe · 20/09/2023 09:47

Wet here really autumnal weather, super windy too!

@CrazyBaubles it really has been doing the rounds again, my parents had it a few weeks ago, not too bad thankfully. Hope your mum recovers well soon!

my least favourite part of autumn has started there are spiders bloody everywhere I may have to burn the house down as one the size of a small terrier escaped under the sofa this morning and there was an even bigger one in the bath that DH had to dispatch for me

WreckTangled · 20/09/2023 19:47

We seem to have a million crane flies in the garden, never seen anything like it!

BiddyPop · 20/09/2023 20:14

I'm not around much as my timelines keep changing and this week I've had 8 week, 9 weeks and today 6 weeks for a moving date - and today a need to go to not just the 1 I expected but 4 separate meetings in Brussels over the next 5 weeks...Christmas is way easier than this, even a travelling Xmas when I cook for everyone!

Hopingforno2in2023 · 21/09/2023 08:30

Gosh it all sounds v stressful @BiddyPop!

Is anyone else checking M&S every day to see if the Christmas food has been released?

Lalanbaba · 21/09/2023 11:47

@Hopingforno2in2023
I believe they release Christmas food tomorrow

Booths is my main go-to. We also had some Morrison's stuff last year which was nice. And both are easier to get to / park at than M&S here (no close free parking at all).

My mum was discharged today so it's been a bit manic. I'm staying with her for a few days because she's still quite weak and unsteady on her feet.
Means I've been trying to work around the trip to collect her, get her settled and look after her.

I'm so so tired and feel so tense that once I logged off, fed us both and got mum settled for the a while I wasted an hour wafting around the Christmas decs on the hallmark shopping website - who knew that existed because I didn't!

Wreck the idea of a million crane flies (or daddy long legs as they're called around my way) makes me feel a bit 🤢 I hate them, they fly into you.

Biddy surely the least they could do is give you a break to give you time to prepare for the move and give you an actual, firm moving date!
