Who was after clear plastic storage boxes? loads of different sizes and reasonably priced in Aldi special buys. I just bought some 80L ones for £7.99. They feel pretty good quality.

Thank you for the replies about lush! I will try my luck in store, don't want to pay for postage 🤣 not the end of the world if I don't get them, they would be to put by as an Easter gift instead of an egg.

That was me. Thank you but I went ahead and brought the 'really useful' brand ones today as I know they are really good quality and will last.

Thanks for thread.

Hi all! Thanks for setting up the thread Chips. DS 8th birthday in 36 days and he's getting a TV but would like some cheap wrap ups as I think he will be disappointed in less presents than usual. I'm also out of ideas after Christmas too! So far I've ordered a mario figure, a squishmallow, a slush cup, pre made cookie dough and a smashers Dino egg.

Does he need anything to go with the TV eg a fire stick?

Cuwins · 29/12/2022 22:58

Probably a bit niche but I love this companies animal figures. DD had a couple in her advent calendar and a couple in her stocking. Currently 25% off selected items

@Irritatedmum he should be ok with the smart TV for apps and things however he has ASD and is quite basic. He won't venture off what he knows so he's a very young 8 in terms of technology. He has a switch he refuses to use!

TwinsAndTiramisu · 29/12/2022 23:08

Yay, first post Christmas bargain thread!

Rainbowshit · 29/12/2022 23:12

I was in booths earlier and they had loads of great reductions. I got gin crackers for next year reduced to £2.50 each.

Cuwins · 29/12/2022 23:13

First present for next year brought today: for my parents dog! 😂 b&m had a set of Xmas toys reduced to £2.50 from £5

Whatdayisitnow · 30/12/2022 00:05

@Rainbowshit” I was in booths earlier and they had loads of great reductions. I got gin crackers for next year reduced to £2.50 each.”

You’re making me wish I was back living in the north, with a Booths by the bus stop where I got the bus to school.

Ah.

Not that we could afford to shop in Booths when I lived there, though.

How about a oodie type hoodie? Fleece blanket (primark have star wars, marvel, minecraft last time I was in there). New duvet set? Box full of his favourite treats/sweets. Board games? Inflatable, a big hit at Christmas was an Inflatable santa and snowman from the poundshop! Maybe you could find a dinosaur or something else he likes cheaply! A new backpack? My girls like hype ones, they are a perfect size for school im sure there was a 50% off code too. My dd loved a paper planes book by usbourne at that age and origami in general. Some sort of cooking device, we have a milk frother and waffle maker which both get used quite frequently.

Have you looked on vinted? I buy secondhand wherever i can to stretch the budget! I got dd2 various jurassic world stuff all under £5. Or charity shops, I got dd1 some books for 20p each and a few games for £1-3 each.

Or Olio, ive got some great free stuff for my dds which I clean up and wrap as gifts. Even got DH a star trek plaque which I gave him for Christmas this year!! Loads of people clearing out this time of year so perfect to pick up little extras!

WaltonOnNaze · 30/12/2022 02:06

Thank you @TeddyOBear for Hype tip off. Most clothes in my kids’ sizes gone but I got them each a snood as a stocking filler for next year and also a bobble hat for dd and some full price t shirts reduced to 50% and some sunglasses for me

Room4onemore · 30/12/2022 05:59

Ordered my daughter some bath and body works things off next for her birthday, also got 4 single Christmas quilt cover sets for next year

Lellyo · 30/12/2022 07:23

Not so much of a bargain but just had an email thru from Costco and they had some boxed whiskey and rum taster boxes in from £29.99 - £39.99 . Not sure if they are in store or online order only

Someaddedsugar · 30/12/2022 07:50

M&S have further reductions today

LemonFrosting · 30/12/2022 07:59

@BadgerLovesMash not sure if you're local to Liverpool Lush but they had so much Christmas stock at half price yesterday, hundreds and hundreds of boxes! I was shocked how much was still available.

Cuwins · 30/12/2022 08:01

BigGreen · 29/12/2022 10:49

Looking for a beautiful Christmas table runner in case anyone spots one Daffodil

Marks and Spencer's have got a light up one in the sale online

woodwaj · 30/12/2022 08:53

@BadgerLovesMash some great ideas! I'm currently in a rabbit hole on vinted! Thank you!

hiredandsqueak · 30/12/2022 09:36

Just placed a Lush order, quite surprised to see how much is left there is usually very little once Boxing Day is over. I order every month or so as dd loves their bath bombs so pretty happy to add to the stash at half price. She won't care that they are Christmas themed.

hiredandsqueak · 30/12/2022 09:40

Ordered Calendars from WH Smith as I forgot to buy before Christmas. Came to less than £10 including postage for three calendars including ds's beloved Chelsea calendar so I think that's a habit I might slip into.

I don't actually live in "the north" either. I live much further north in Scotland. I just always make a special trip to booths when visiting my in laws as I love it so much.

I'd be skint and very fat if I actually moved near one! 😂

Thesearmsofmine · 30/12/2022 11:42

I ordered a few bits from Lush too. Whatever they have done differently with their sale this year seems to have worked.

greentwig · 30/12/2022 11:52

I used to love Lush but I had a look earlier and even the sale prices meant that the bath bombs in some of the gift sets were still working out at £3 each! I loved the days of buying a sale gift set and getting any other for free (and they were much cheaper!).

Cuwins · 30/12/2022 13:23

Finally got a lush gift set! Does anyone know will the bath bombs still be ok by next Christmas?

Sideorderofchips · 30/12/2022 15:33

I can't see why they wouldn't be if you keep in a cool dry place and in the packaging. I'm going to be storing most of mine for then

I. Agree that lush stuff is so expensive now that even the sale prices are what the normal prices were 10 years ago. But it is stuff the kids loves
