God I love boxing day!

It’s my favourite day of the whole year! Christmas Day is hard work with family dynamics at my parents but when I get home on boxing day I just love it!
Cooking a full Christmas dinner today so the house smells amazing! All the crappy Christmas tv has been recorded and is ready to go and the chocs have been opened! Heaven.

We have Christmas Dinner on Christmas Eve to avoid the mess and hours in the kitchen, then spend Christmas Day/Boxing Day just us. It really is the best. Enjoy!

I’ve come down with a cold today so very glad
to be able to spend it guilt free in bed catching up with all the Strictly I missed (was away for the final and didn't watch the Xmas one at the time either), eating chocolate. Boxing Day is a welcome break in all the madness.

Boxing Day is my favourite too. Ive stayed in my pjs, made a load of party food for people to help themselves to, poured myself several JDs and cokes and spent a wonderful afternoon catching up on the xmas soaps. Dh and Dsare engrossed in football on the tv so im taking myself off for a long hot bubble bath and start one of my new books. Bliss!

I’m not usually a fan but DH is full of flu in bed so it’s just been me and the kids, no stepping on eggshells, no shouting or moaning. We have built and played with toys, tried out their new skateboards at the park and ate loads of rubbish!

Christmas Eve I did my own Christmas dinner new tradition for me love it yesterday Christmas dinner downstairs no cooking it today buffet nibbles. This is how Christmas will be from now on.

It’s all about the leftovers on Boxing Day! They taste better the next day and it’s like getting free food somehow. Also, I am only just getting my sense of taste back after Covid. 😆

Love Boxing Day. Been for a long dog walk on the beach then back for leftovers and bubble and squeak. Love it, all the hard work cooking yesterday and today is like the reward 😊.

It's true relaxation.

This period of the 12 Days of Christmas is my favourite period of the year. No stress, no work, no needing to be anywhere or do anything. Pure bliss!

I hate it. DH has stayed in bed all day as apparently he deserves a break after cooking Christmas dinner yesterday.

He bought no presents.
He wrapped no presents
He did no food shopping
He did no good prep

But apparently he's 'worked so hard'

So today has been a shitshow like every year.

I'm glad yours is so nice! Quite envious! Enjoy it xxx

I'm having a lovely day - bubble 'n squeak from yesterday's leftovers for breakfast, with fried eggs, then a cold ham and turkey salad with pickles this evening. DH went to the pub this afternoon, which gave me space and time to watch some Netflix, and I'm currently halfway down a Bailey's/creme de cacao/vodka cocktail. All is good in my world!

Nice lie-in, bacon butty for lunch, then walked over to our local non league ground to watch the football and see friends. Back now and having a buffet tea in my PJ’s.

I always say that the few days after Xmas are ‘my Xmas’! This afternoon was the first time I had stopped, I have had a wonderful afternoon sat on the sofa eating lots of leftover nibbles and chocolates watching tv with DD next to me playing her new Switch game and cat zonked on our laps. I can feel my shoulders dropping😀.

It's the best! A PJs day with all the best food and loads of films etc

Kids have played all day, made turkey and ham pie and eaten about a kilo of trifle!

It’s the best day if the year! I slept until 11, chilled on the sofa, watching a game DH was playing and chatting, hung out with the kids, and cooked a very leisurely dinner that was supposed to be mostly leftovers but ended up as another full Christmas dinner.

I love it. No pressure, no expectations, no rush.

I loved this year ad no MIL staying with us. After working full time, cleaning tans shopping and cooking for everyone I was done in, slept till 10.30, got out of bed at 11. Have sat in jammies and eaten crap all day! Love it
