Morning (just)!

I failed at eating yesterday which meant I got blotto far too early and wasn't well. Oops! 🙈

But we had a great time anyway and I avoided having to tidy up!

Countdown to next year is go go go! 🎄🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻

Haha puss. My parents are very unlikely to have any treats of any sort.

Yep. Not even for themselves! 🙄😩

String of sausages from the butchers..? Your dads slippers..?😂

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 07/04/2023 17:48

Crazy feeling a bit more "normal" whatever that is today, just sticky eyes and a lingering cough now. Are you related to DH? He can shift a box of choc fingers in one sitting too.
fluffy and why they sound like my (late) oldies. A bit too strict, even for their own good and that's being kind

NoWordForFluffy · 07/04/2023 17:51

Dad wouldn't be if left to his own devices, Puss. It's mother's influence on the poor bloke. I buy him treats for presents!

Let's just hope that "digger" takes a liking to your mum - and her slippers. 😈
Give your dad an extra hug from me. Mine was beaten into submission too.

CrazyBaubles · 07/04/2023 18:59

Fluffy My mum is odd in that she'll always have a stash of things everyone else likes, but if you mention her buying herself something she gets all flustered and says no 🙄

DHs grandparents are lovely but sound similar to yours. They have very set times to eat and drink. If either of them miss breakfast, they will stay hungry and wait until lunch (although they don't inflict those rules in visitors anymore).

Glad you're on the mend puss

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 07/04/2023 19:11

Crazy I typed too soon. I've been coughing for an hour. I can't talk. DH is learning sigh-n language. I point, he sighs. 🤦‍♀️
Watching "together" channel 83 and seeing my old home town.

I did some pottering about in the garden today , I really need to treat myself to some new gloves .

I've ordered myself some SPF 50 for my face for summer , I;m getting old now y'know , I cannot afford for my ancient skin to be ravaged by sun.

Huge glass of water and off to bed now .

NoWordForFluffy · 08/04/2023 11:32

Morning!

Gorgeous day here now the frost has gone. ☀️

Just stuck my main crop spuds in the ground, following the Easter tradition! My B-road beans are in too. I had too many beans, so donated some to a fellow plot holder.

My crab apple tree, which I've grown from a 6 inch stick, is in bloom for the first time! It's very exciting. My plum also has lots of blossom for the first time as well. Hopefully I'll get some fruit!

It has been lovely here most of the day although I was at work this morning.

Going to sit on my arse watching TV this evening once I have washed up.

NoWordForFluffy · 08/04/2023 19:29

Coincidence, Why, as I've just sat on my arse properly for the first time today.

So far today I've walked the dog; been to the allotment (just noticed that autocorrect decided that broad beans should be B-Road beans; I've no idea WTAF is wrong with it); cleaned the kitchen / utility etc; cleaned the bathroom; cleaned the windows and all the woodwork in our bedroom; made dinner; and put the curtains back up. I'm tired!

Evening. Been a bit of a here and there day, I woke very very early so tidied in the garden (my strawberry plants have had a growth explosion Confused) and did some housework.
Then DH went out and I fell asleep. Woken by dsis calling to invite me out for a walk and an early tea.
Been home since 7 watching the Luther film on Netflix (ignoring my own advice not to watch it while home alone). It is very creepy & disturbing - I've been like this 🫣🫣 for parts of it.

Fluffy your day sounds exhausting. Hope you've grabbed yourself a drink and had a relax!

70 I know you said you've already bought some but I always recommend the kids Nivea factor 50 (I have very very pale skin and burn at the slightest rays). It's the one that works best for me.

Ahh , obviously not . No Bunny Ears .

I love Easter Sunday Dinner , it has the same planning as Christmas Day Dinnner but without sprouts .

I've done pastry for apple pie ( pastry was made in the food processor in the non touch by human hand technique and is now chilling in the fridge .

I have potatoes (to roast) parsnips ( also to roast) carrots and brochilli .
Yorskshire puddings (Aunt Bessie ) and I;ll do gravy
DS will have chicken (and the cats will too) and DH,DD and I will have Quorn Roast .
That will be way much later afyer the Easter Eggs .

Time to harness the Inner Nigel (Slater) and do things that are VN (Very Nigel)

NoWordForFluffy · 09/04/2023 16:38

We made it down south! Only one instance of dog sick, although copious drool. 💦 🤢

Emergency stop at an English Heritage place to get him out of the car, which cost us £90 in membership fees (it was £40.30 to go in once, so decided to get the reduced membership deal instead; it gives us more stopping options on long journeys at least!).

He's happy now we're at Why's house (we waved at Woolly as we turned left at the roundabout where she's on the right!).

Good morning! Its raining here - I'm telling myself its good for the garden, but it feels like its rained forever.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/04/2023 09:18

It's chucking it down here too. Doggy had a wet walk and a through towel down on our return.

He's now having a little snooze until DH and the kids get back from their Premier Inn breakfast (we're in a Travelodge as they take dogs!).

Morning fellow Travel lodger Fluffy 👋
We're in one in a motorway services after watching Elton in the o2 last night. He was AMAZING!
How long are you away for?
We're getting on the road in the next half hour. My df is looking after our ddog and I don't want to take up all his bank holiday. I'm so tired though.

DH, who is miraculously still alive after recent antics, is cooking a bbq pulled pork today. Looking forward to that.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/04/2023 20:59

Evening
Sounds like you (collectively) had busy weekends .

I'm not a fan of Elton Crazy but I bet he puts on a brilliant stafe show .

We had rain pretty much all day -well it is Bank Holiday so par for the course .
In the breaks of the monsoon I planted out some seeds and got DH to empty my stash of Pepsi from the gardage .
Note To Self for next year . Don;t buy cans of Pepsi to store in the garage , The majority ruptured and the plastic crate of swimming . Glass bottles though were fine Xmas Hmm
I;m not a fan of fizzy drinks which is why it was sitting there 5 months later . It must;ve frozen ?

Back to work tomorrow , <sigh>

NoWordForFluffy · 10/04/2023 21:06

We drove through a number of episodes of biblical rain to get home today. We also had more 🤮 from the dog! 😩

Mum and dad love the dog though (he was on his best behaviour for them!), as did Why! He's been a very good doggy all weekend and has loved meeting new folks! 😍

Tomorrow I'm cooking a belated Easter dinner for us and the in-laws. It should be good.

He is a lovely dog Fluffy. It was comical seeing him asleep on the sofa with one ear open and the tail wagging. A very well behaved pup.

I am very tired now after work, it was quite a busy shift.

Morning!

We'll soon be closer to 200 than 300 on the countdown; it's rattling along at a rate of knots!

It's started sunny and windy this morning, so we have two loads of washing on the line including all the towels / clothing covered in dog sick and drool! which should be nigh-on dry by the time the rain comes later on.

The weather is, ummmm, very April this week! 🌧️ 💨

70 for a man who isn't overly mobile anymore so did 95% of the show sat at a piano, it was very good.

I think the rain you hit yesterday has reached me Fluffy. It's been heavy and non stop all day.

First day back at work after 4 days off is hard 😫 I've had to take part of the day just to plan what needs doing this week and prioritise it because the list is just so long. Sigh.

The ABBA Voyage gog was bloody brilliant .. and they weren;t actualiy there.
