Morning (just)!

I failed at eating yesterday which meant I got blotto far too early and wasn't well. Oops! 🙈

But we had a great time anyway and I avoided having to tidy up!

Countdown to next year is go go go! 🎄🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻

Good day all. Sorry about the no heating Tribe. It’s raining here but has been nice and sunny the past three days.

Dd has been off school for ages due to illness/snow/strikes. Had to send a photo of her antibiotics into school in order for them to authorise her absence 🤨

Morning folks. Off today after a ridiculously busy shift yesterday where we thought it must be a full moon, but apparently wasn't. Exhausted so slumped in a chair with a cuppa currently.

NoWordForFluffy · 16/03/2023 08:25

Morning!

Warmer here today, but it's now grey and miserable. It's meant to be dry from 9 though, albeit not sunny, with a breeze. The washing should hopefully dry!

Sorry your shift was mad, Why. Hopefully the next will be better!

We've cancelled our Oct half term trip to Portugal due to Ddog. We're going to Scotland for the week now instead.

Tribe, hope your boiler woes end soon.

Wreck there are lots of debates between my sister and DH about school absence policies and whether they are ridiculous. DH is a big believer in getting kids to school almost no matter what. Sister (and me) are a lot more realistic!

why I hope you're feeling better.

Which part of Scotland are you going to Fluffy? It can be a great trip for the dog.

It's been non-stop rain here today, and it's cold too. No chance of drying anything outside here for the next few days at least 🙄

TribeD · 16/03/2023 17:53

I'm delegating boiler sorting out duties to DH. He's off tomorrow, so he can ring the plumber and get it all arranged. We have hot water, just no heating so although it's annoying it's manageable.

Thank goodness its not baltic like it was a few weeks ago!

NoWordForFluffy · 16/03/2023 18:02

Crazy, a place called Southerness on the Dumfries and Galloway coast. It was only £540.00 for the week, including accidental damage cover (needed with a hound!), which I thought was a bargain. The house has a pool table too, so I'm aiming to re-live my youth and become a hustler. 🤣🤣

NoWordForFluffy · 17/03/2023 07:30

I'm back. Just finished breakfast. 😁

We had a nice sunny walk. It's definitely warming up now. If only our house would also stay warm. 🙄

It’s raining here. I’ve got a day off so just got back from the gym and am meeting a friend for lunch later.

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 17/03/2023 08:56

Morning all.
Still not right. Eyes are still weeping and itchy, coughing my lungs up, painful throat/strangled feeling. DH still has sole occupancy of the bed, I'm "sleeping" downstairs with the cats watching the West Wing again boycat woke me at 3am with a soft paw on my nose. 😻 DH then woke me at 4am like a clattering buttock. He couldn't have made more noise if he'd tried.🤬

fluffy how is "digger"? Wink has his tum settled down now?
Tribe good luck with the DH boiler - it's probably something really simple if you still have HW.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/03/2023 09:47

@pussycatinfluffyslippers

That image has scarred my brain and no amount of EyeBleach will remove the words clattering buttock now seared into my retinas Xmas Shock

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 17/03/2023 11:18

@70isaLimitNotaTarget sorry. 💐😺
Thing is, it fits. He is one anyway.
He never does "light" tip-toe steps upstairs like I do ...it's like having a marching band doing the macarena up there. 🤦‍♀️
(note to self - never buy a house without acoustic insulation between floors again)

I feel your pain. I usually go to bed after DH. I ninja around the bedroom. On the very rare occasion I'm in bed first I certainly know when my other half has arrived 🤦🏻‍♀️

NoWordForFluffy · 17/03/2023 19:46

Puss, sorry you're still unwell. The germs have certainly made themselves at home with you! 🙄😭

Our mother is under 5', but she seemingly has no spring in her knees to soften her step as she stomps around like nothing else on this earth. We used to despair when she came to visit us in our flat and stomped around. Poor neighbours!

Digger is still digging little shit. His tum seems far more settled, thankfully.

Oh, I just started on the Christmas booze collection. Sainsbury's has 25% off 6+ bottles and Bailey's at £13/L, so I have 6 bottles plus a Bailey's in the storage facility! Xmas Grin

OP posts:
TheWoollybacksWife · 17/03/2023 19:56

Asda had 25% off a couple of weeks ago Fluffy. I bought 6 bottles. There are 4 left...

However, the new Asda rewards thing seems to be working in my favour. I had £60+ in my pot before Christmas and spent it on booze. I've had £100+ since Christmas and have knocked it off my shopping but bought amazon and next vouchers to an equivalent amount to stash in my Christmas drawer

NoWordForFluffy · 17/03/2023 20:50

I use my Nectar points, Woolly, and earn quite well with them, considering we aren't really high spenders on food.

We're very good at not drinking our Christmas stocks, thankfully! 😇

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 18/03/2023 05:39

Fluffy, Morrisons have the same 25% off on their wine. No chance of anything lasting until Christmas except last years Baileys which is still unopened Blush

Tried sleeping in bed last night, boy was that a mistake! I'll have to stick with the armchair for a few more days I think.

Morning!

I've walked the dog and am just waiting for my bacon sandwich which DH is making for me. Then I'm going to wander into town as I need a few bits from Wilko.

Puss, we've got some favourite wines from Sainsbury's, plus I pay with Nectar points. DH loves their Morador Malbec, so I got 2 yesterday.

How are you feeling today?

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/03/2023 08:28

Ooh very organised buying your Christmas wines Xmas Grin

In March 1999 I bought a limited edition bottle of beer for DH that had instrutions to store until the Minellium . And there was a matured Somerset Cider Calvaos that I pre-ordered .
(DS was born just before the Millenium so I don't remember much of December although I was awake for most of it !)

Wine in our house would still be sitting there by the next Millenium Xmas Grin

I'm going to potter down to M&S and buy some nice foodie things for Mothers Day Dinner , I'm planning (ha!) that DS and DD cook it . But I'll do the roast potatoes , as you cannot buy nice ones .

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/03/2023 08:30

store until the Minellium

Oops bit of a dinnerladies slip there Xmas Blush

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 18/03/2023 17:58

I used to work with somebody who pronounced it like that 70 Grin

DH was going to take us out for lunch for my birthday/our WA last weekend, but that'll have to keep for another week or 2. We really aren't fit to be seen, let alone go "out" out. Crawling around Morrisons is as much as we've mustered this month.

I've just made us some sandwiches for tea and it's worn me out. Plus one eye is still sticky/weeping and DH has lost his voice.

CrazyBaubles · 18/03/2023 21:50

Evening. Sorry you're still feeling so rubbish puss. Hope you're on the mend soon.

No Christmas booze being bought in this house as it's never finished and we have a gazillion bottles of spirits here that feel never ending 🙄

It's been a long, rugby filled day. I spent a very nice hour or two with the match on, sowing seeds and potting up plants in the conservatory then went to the pub to watch the last match.
Current watching to shows DH hates and browsing mn while waiting for a very drunk DH to get home as he went out separately, so that'll be fun 😩

Happy Mothering Sunday to all who are partaking in this event and Flowers to those who are grieving .
I am lucky enough to still have my Mum but she's going further and further into dementia so I doubt she'll even recognise the card from me .

She used to phone me and say "Thanks for the card , your sister didn;t send me one"
And I;d say "Well she's just a chintzey madam, I;m the nice daughter , obvs " ,
It was our joke because my Sister lives in New Zealand and they celebrate in May which is when she'll send the card .

My DH found two cards in the pile of stuff under the coffee table that the DC will sign and I might get handed some time tomorrow . They were probably meant to send them last year , who knows ,

My DS (23) maintains that having him in my life has given it meaning an every day that I have him is a celebration. Xmas Grin such a modest young man
#blessed

TribeD · 19/03/2023 09:13

Happy Mothers Day. It's a bittersweet day for many, but I'm sending you my thoughts today.

DD wanted to wake me at 6.20, thankfully DH talked her out of it!

I've had to talk her out of eating (my) malteasers for breakfast...so she is sulking ha ha
