What board games did you play and you want to play today? Do you like board games or hate just to see them on the table?

I love board games and Christmas is no Christmas without board games.
Yesterday we played

Lotti Karotti (hit with a three year old and 8 year old)

Camel Up

Catan

Scrabble

We played Uno flip, Articulate Christmas and Super Mario labyrinth

Chewbecca · 26/12/2022 10:07

Herd mentality (very funny and easy for all ages) and cards here.

Everdell! And going to launch into ISS Vanguard today.

Everdell is one of my favourite games ever. Great choice.

We played a bunch of party games yesterday - Telestrations, Just One, Beat That - but today I am lookiuforward to cracking open one of my presents. Think I’ll go for Sabika 🤓

inigomontoyahwillcox · 26/12/2022 10:09

We played Linkee - was only 4 of us, was fun but better I think with more players, so you can form teams.

ProperVexed · 26/12/2022 10:11

It was great to see my young adult sons play Battleships together...just like they did as children.
We then played Articulate which was great fun (DH and I won).

cotsma · 26/12/2022 10:14

We played

Rummikub, cranium and countdown. Also cards

Unsure33 · 26/12/2022 10:28

Herd mentality quite enjoyed that

CousinKrispy · 26/12/2022 10:30

Mexican train dominoes. Good mixture of strategy and sheer luck, keeps adults entertained but the 10yo can grasp the rules and play irritatingly well!

Herd mentality quite enjoyed that

I bought that on a whim after one of the R1 DJs got it in their secret Santa. We (3 adults and a mid teen) loved it!

Withholdingvitalinfo · 26/12/2022 10:33

We had a big old laugh with our 19 & 16 yos yesterday with Who Am I - just post it notes on our foreheads

HoboHippo · 26/12/2022 10:55

League of the Lexicon! We've really enjoyed it.

nancydroo · 26/12/2022 10:58

Sleuth and Catchphrase

Roselilly36 · 26/12/2022 11:02

We had a right laugh, playing the logo game second edition, would recommend.

Hollytreenew · 26/12/2022 11:05

We played ticket to ride and code words.
The group I was with hadn’t played either game before and they loved them both, especially code words. (All adult group.)

Carolservicedeprived · 26/12/2022 11:07

We did a team quiz, played our new game Herd Mentality, a few rounds of Dobble and a Xmas jumper cards game, then finished the day with charades, sing the next line game and Banangrams.

Probably have a go at Ticket to ride, Articulate and a few more today.

bluechameleon · 26/12/2022 11:08

We've played Mexican Train Game, Cluedo and Rummikub. I love board games, I can't wait until DS2 is a bit older (currently 4) so he can play more games. DS1 is 8 and can play most games now with a bit of help.

Stompythedinosaur · 26/12/2022 11:09

I love them! We played Hand to Hand Wombat yesterday.

PinkHeadphones · 26/12/2022 11:12

We played Blankety Blank and a family game from B&M where you have to guess what the other person has written about themselves. Both went down very well for a mixed age group.
DS1 wants to play Catan but DS2 won’t, and while I am always up for Catan you can’t really play with two.
Today we hope to play the name game.

Nowisthemonthofmaying · 26/12/2022 11:16

I love a board game but most of my family disagree - to my joy, my sister's partner who joined us at Christmas this year is also mad on games so we managed to play some last night and coerce my sister into playing too 😂

We did Jenga, Exploding Kittens and Monopoly Deal and will have a go at Catan, Bananagrams and an escape room today, hopefully....

B1993 · 26/12/2022 08:31

DS is 3.5 so didn't do board games as I've not come across an age appropriate one (might have to look into the one you mentioned above, OP). We did however play pin the nose on Rudolph and Christmas snap. Snap in particular was a hit 😊

@B1993 I would recommend Uno Moo for that age range-it's much easier to get to grips with as instead of cards you have little animals-my daughter loved it from age 3 or so

Walkingtheplank · 26/12/2022 11:35

We played charades which was fun until I laughed at my 16 year old miming and this was mean and horrible of me.
Later we played Linkee which was fun for about 2 minutes until it was clear that I'm the only lateral in the family (DH in sulk mode) and the questions were too dated for the children.
I think today we're playing Sequence. I must not emote or win. If there's a drama during this one I'm not playing any more games with them.

Runningintolife · 26/12/2022 11:41

We played Taskmaster, it was very fun. I don't look forward to board games but I often enjoy them when we do.

CeriB82 · 26/12/2022 11:55

Board games are not just for Christmas.

EddieHowesBlackandWhiteArmy · 26/12/2022 12:00

We played herd mentality and something about 20 seconds which was a quick fire team task game that had us all crying with laughter.

Thank you for this... just about to Google it now 😊
