Merry Christmas Eve all!

My rectangular table for 8 so far has:

⭐️ Disposable grey and white snowflake pattern tablecloth (for ease!)
⭐️ Grey placemats and coasters
⭐️ 2 x poinsettias with glitter
⭐️ Red Napkins for each guest folded into Christmas trees with silver stars positioned at the top

What have you got in yours??

All these people doing it the day before clearly don't have cats Grin

I have a cat and a dog who can jump on the table...

I like to live on the edge 😉

I'd come down to absolute carnage Grin

The oldest cat CBA anymore, but the younger two would cause absolute mayhem! The dog sleeps upstairs so he'd be safe!

We have a cat and dog but they're too old for shenanigans

Love the pine cone idea. Will borrow for next year. Beautiful table.

TheChosenTwo · 24/12/2022 19:48

It’s got some candlesticks and candles on it but they’ll be gone tomorrow - it’s not an issue of Good Housekeeping or whatever those aspirational magazines are called, it’s going to be crammed full of serving dishes tomorrow to feed us, no space for foliage, candles or charger plates (whatever the fuck they are)…
So currently only candles!

No that is one job that someone else can do . No way am I doing that .

Mine currently has leftover Chinese takeaway all over it. 😬

pinneddownbytabbies · 24/12/2022 20:13

My rectangular table for 6 currently has:

Several rolls of half-used wrapping paper
Scissors
Sticky tape
Pen
Two carrier bags
Tabby cat

BeachDayToday · 24/12/2022 20:15

Nothing yet as we have a cat

Mum2jenny · 24/12/2022 20:16

Not even thought about it. Am I bad?

Thethingswedoforlove · 24/12/2022 20:20

Put my mats out and cat immediately sat on the table 🤷‍♀️

All ready for tomorrow. Just the additional leaf to add for the serving dishes.

@Danniotley

I love those trees & gold mats

fancyacuppatea · 24/12/2022 20:43

Mine has a cat asleep on it...😹

imnotthatkindofmum · 24/12/2022 20:47

Mine has felt snowflake mats which I will
Put my grandmas silver plate mats on top of tomorrow. And a quilted runner my mum made. Then I will just use our usual stuff for everything else and a cracker each. No tablecloth as I bought a habitat one in the sake last January and didn't check the measurements....too short for my table!!

All done now. Wedding dinner service dragged out rarely ditto cutlery. Some bits needed rewashing, cutlery knives always have water marks. Spiders crawl into the glassware and die. So all that is rewashed and polished. Table centerpieces last until the main course when there's too much on the table.

Late mother in law's hostess trolley is a godsend. It's 40 odd years old but always fires up without issue.

I'm looking forward to boxing Day though 😁😁

All I can hear now is Victoria Wood, 'bend me over backwards on the hostess trolley' !

buddhasbelly · 24/12/2022 20:55

I bought these crackers that you’re supposed to put your own gift in. So naturally we have our dog has bookmarks. And yes I was getting these printed out today and yes I feel like a loon. The rest of the table is plain. But the crackers. The crackers are good.

Trumpton · 24/12/2022 21:18

Lighting isn’t good but silver charger plates with napkins and crackers.
My mum’s table cloth that she bought back from Damascus in the 1970s, it never did lay flat!

“charger plates (whatever the fuck they are)” just for you @TheChosenTwo Xmas Grin
They are just shaped place mats.

antelopevalley · 24/12/2022 21:34

Its not. Tomorrow I will fling a white tablecloth over it, I think I have some Christmas disposable napkins, then cutlery and crackers. I might put a few red candles on as well - I bought a box a few years ago for Christmas.
