Has anyone else got a completely full fridge with no idea what to cook tonight?

We are only having people over tomorrow, so everything is waiting for then. Just realised I’ve not thought about what to cook for tea tonight!

I'm having a snack type tea
Cheese and ale bake from Aldi, pickles, charcuterie type meats, onion chutney and part baked rolls

PointyMcguire · 24/12/2022 14:07

We always have a ham on Christmas Eve, and have the rest alongside Christmas dinner tomorrow/for Boxing Day nibbles.

StrawberryWater · 24/12/2022 14:10

We’re having rice (with onions and peas) wrapped in bacon with potato fritters.

Simple and easy.

JaneJeffer · 24/12/2022 14:14

I forgot about today's dinner as well. Anyone for fishfingers?

Jules912 · 24/12/2022 14:15

We have ham for tonight but realised earlier I had no sandwich fillings for lunch ( assumed we'd use the leftovers but forgot about today!).

DancingSober · 24/12/2022 14:16

We're ordering takeaway

Batcountry8 · 24/12/2022 14:17

We've just picked up some pre packed sarnies.
😂

GettingStuffed · 24/12/2022 14:17

We we're going to have a snack selection from lunchtime but DH has taken over and is cooking lasagne . This means we can't get on with prepping the veg for tomorrow, andI need to make the red cabbage

Afl · 24/12/2022 14:20

I've had supernoodles for lunch and its always a KFC for tea.
No fuss, no dirty plates. Win win 😂

bloodyeverlastinghell · 24/12/2022 14:20

I had a baked Camembert for tea yesterday and dunked stuff in it was lush.

ChimChimeny · 24/12/2022 14:27

Yes that's why we're having KFC 😁
It's tradition because I can't be bothered to cook when I'll be doing it tomorrow

NoNamesLeft234678 · 24/12/2022 14:37

Not got much in the fridge but going to Toby Cavery tonight

Beercrispsandnuts · 24/12/2022 14:39

We are getting a Chinese. Personally I’d just do some sarnies and offered up bacon and fried egg, but no one else was feeling it. 😂

Derrymum123 · 24/12/2022 14:46

KFC, it is the law in our house, on Christmas Eve.

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 24/12/2022 14:46

KFC!!

MummyInTheNecropolis · 24/12/2022 14:47

Buffet for us tonight, sausage rolls, pigs in blankets (have extra for tomorrow), smoked salmon blinis, spring rolls, mini pizzas, halloumi fries and crisps and dips. I can’t wait!

ILikeBigSaladsAndICannotLie · 24/12/2022 14:49

I usually do a big pan of vegetable soup for myself, it does for lunch & tea, & I just stick all the veg in that we don't need for Christmas. DH & DD won't touch it though as it's too healthy. They're having meatballs & pasta.

Pascha · 24/12/2022 14:50

We always have a carpet picnic in front of a random Christmas film. Party food like sausage rolls, samosas, prawn toast, chicken nuggets etc, followed by cheese and crackers and chocolates. Nothing remotely healthy.

Just contemplating making fishmonger baps!

bellac11 · 24/12/2022 14:52

Our table is already laid with cheeses, meats, olives, toms, cue, a quiche and I regularly do a round, up from the sofa, to the table, load up and back again. There is also a yule log sitting there.

yaflouloci · 24/12/2022 14:53

I've done this so many times but not this year. Did a normal meal plan around the usual eating like Henry VIII days.

bloodywhitecat · 24/12/2022 15:17

My plans were scuppered when DD and her husband tested positive for covid, my son was coming tonight and I was going to cook a ham but he's now coming tomorrow with my ex so I think it might be beans on toast for me tonight.

JaneJeffer · 24/12/2022 15:20

That's a step too far @tobee

WordtoYoMumma · 24/12/2022 15:23

So much food in my house and we are headed to Nandos for dinner 😂

KangarooKenny · 24/12/2022 15:24

I’m having fish fingers and chips 😋
