Mislaid a Christmas present anyone else done this?

OH went mad this afternoon he's mislaid my Christmas present and it's my fault 😂😂

I've been in bed with gastroenteritis since Monday only got up today didn't even notice a package on the hall table.

Now I once berated Amazon because half a dozen or so gifts I had ordered hadn't arrived. They replaced them with apologies. Guess what I found in the spare room at the end of January under a duvet 🙈😂😂

We're not the only family are we?

I lost an LOL doll ball one year. Found it in my present hiding place the following year. Luckily DD still loved LOL dolls that year too

DH ordered me a new laptop for Christmas a few weeks ago. When it arrived I suggested he got it out of the box just to make sure it wasn't damaged. He did that but then left it leaning against the wall in the living room. We were going away for a couple of nights so I moved the laptop upstairs so it wasn't visible through the window. I told him where I'd put it. He's just asked me where it is as he presumably wants to wrap it and has forgotten where I told him it is. Just as well I've remembered which safe place I put it in - unlike when I hid some jewellery on the day of a family funeral and forgot where I'd put it. Took me 3 months to find that !

I lost a Christmas pudding once that I stashed away , I was pretty annoyed , I like pud . Found in July in cupboard under the stairs 🤦‍♀️.

I remember one year my mum had some forgotten about presents after Xmas and came through the back door one morning saying "Look what I found when I was in the garden! These must have fallen off Santa's sleigh!"

Totally believed it.

Oooh yeah. On the plus side, whilst looking for it I found the swimwear I'd needed for our holiday the previous July...

I found an item under my bed last week. It was something I had bought as one of ‘additional’ presents for my DH’s birthday August 2021. So I brushed off the layer of dust and wrapped it in Christmas paper and it’s now under the tree. It’s quite big so no idea how I missed it for over a year.

Over 2 years ago I bought a mega bag of nuts for dh’s stocking. He’s a fiend for nuts, so I had to hide them.
They still haven’t turned up!

I got a popswatch watch I desperately wanted one year in May as my Mum had bought it but put it "somewhere safe". She found it in the cupboard over the oven five months later 😂

I loved that watch 😂

I got my 40th birthday present from my mum on my 44th, as she'd put it in such a "safe place" she couldn't find it.

This happened to us!

DH left them in the kitchen for DC to find, and we said they must have fallen out of his sack on the way to the living room

The kids were so happy we've left a couple of gifts in the kitchen for them to find every year since..!

about 3 months ago bought a mug with a personal message on it for my daughter for the Crimbo season but when I came to wrap it 2 weeks ago could not find it! turned the house upside down in desperation I tried to find the same again but had no luck. Looking through eBay I saw a mug with a similar but better message on it and a choice of for men or women so it would cover my SIL's gift too! Yesterday found the original mug which I have stuck on a selling site!

Couldn't find a book I'd bought for my uncle until Jan/Feb. Posted it last week.

Found a selection boxes in the wardrobe mid July, had those 2 for 1 attraction coupons on, great for the place we were visiting that summer! And unexpected chocolate 😋

Made something for DC, put it in my secret stash box with the rest of the Christmas stuff a couple weeks ago but it wasn't there when I wrapped everything else. Emptied the cupboard, shelves, storage boxes several times, searched for 3 days and yesterday it turned up- in the original box I had put it in. I have turned that box upside down several times during my search 🤷‍♀️

I completely lost something a few years ago. Looked everywhere and it never turned up. I tried to write down everything I bought this year because I forget even buying stuff. I forgot I was doing that at some point apparently. Found 3 presents I forgot all about so far. One was actually a birthday present from the summer.

I also forget what things are once I’ve wrapped them. It makes watching people open presents more exciting 😂

I lost a whole bag once. It had about five or six little presents in for the kids. It’s never turned up. I’m guessing we must have thrown it by accident

I lost 2 one year.. found them 2 years later.

I didn't make a seller replace them though.

I've lost loads over the years.
The most noticable being season 7 of Friends, years ago, when my DD1 was collecting the set.
We moved house and it still never turned up!

Every year I fail to find at least one gift, and it usually reappears in February!

I did a massive Argos toy order one year - DS2's birthday is November so it was a combo of both that and Christmas. Did it online to pick up in store. Realised about a week later a large Lego box was missing. Contacted Argos, got refunded. Said Lego box fell on my head in my wardrobe around July - how I forgot I had jammed it up behind some clothes I don't know.

I lost an outfit I'd bought for my daughter when she was about 2 never could find it anywhere, in may we had to move our massive Ikea pax wardrobe out from the wall and ...there it was stuck down the back 8 years later

Not a present, but my mum found a tray of potato croquettes in the Aga on Boxing Day. They were like charcoal briquettes 😂
