Mislaid a Christmas present anyone else done this?

OH went mad this afternoon he's mislaid my Christmas present and it's my fault 😂😂

I've been in bed with gastroenteritis since Monday only got up today didn't even notice a package on the hall table.

Now I once berated Amazon because half a dozen or so gifts I had ordered hadn't arrived. They replaced them with apologies. Guess what I found in the spare room at the end of January under a duvet 🙈😂😂

We're not the only family are we?

I do it every year. Found a couple of books on top of my wardrobe in October once.

I bought my Dd a Pegasus charm two years ago. Lost it. Still waiting to find it.

I lost two things this year or perhaps 26 depending how you look at it.
I treated myself to a tiny cottage ornament at a potters’ fair, it even had a wreath on the door. Smallest dgc fell for it big time so I promised her she could hang it on the tree. Not anywhere! Turned up in a cupboard with all the cracker gifts that we save. Ummmm.
The second thing was 25 homemade cards from very good friends. Beautifully painted and cover local events and history.
I keep them and every year they have their own hanging space, totally irreplaceable.
I looked everywhere not with this years cards or last year ads for cutting up.not in any of the boxes. I set a reading tree teepee up for the smalls and when I got the box of Christmas books out there the cards were tucked at the back! I cried a bit out or relief.
next year I am having two photo blankets made from the cards ,one for the artist and definitely one for me!

I bought my DS a stack of Julia Donaldson books for Christmas and hid them. When I went to wrap them, I couldn't find them anywhere, turned the house upside down for days and still nothing so I re-bought them. Hid the seconds batch, went to wrap them days later and couldn't find them again!

Had to give up.

Last week I found 2 stacks of Julia Donaldson books. DS was 3/4 when I got him them for Christmas. He's 18 now.

I’ve lost two this year. I live in hope that they will magically reappear in the next 24hrs! 🤞🧑‍🎄

I’ve lost my daughters main gift. It’s got to turn up tomorrow hopefully!

We still talk about the box of my favourite chocolates that disappeared one year (about ten years ago) and never turned up.

Oh, I know! I just can't work out whose! but strongly suspect DS2 who'd never admit it

I've bought chocolate coins for the DC stockings and I cannot find them anywhere.

Never actually lost anything for Christmas but every Easter we do a chocolate egg hunt in the house with hundreds of little chocolate eggs and they turn up for months afterwards. The record was last year when we found one while putting the Christmas decorations up!

2 original lost presents have been joined by a 3rd (I hope they’re having fun somewhere!)

I have found 2 presents that I had forgotten I’d bought! Does this count as a subsection to the OP?

I'm still trying to find last year's chocolate coins! I know they're in a white bag. They'll need chucking anyway but I would like to know where I put them.

Lost a toy police motorcycle with flashing lights one year. Turned the house upside down looking for the fucker. Eventually found it on top the the kitchen cupboards, but had fallen down in to the top bit of the oven extractor fan area. Bizarrely, it was discovered just in time for the following Christmas. Smelt of chips, but still worked fine.

Bought a couple of gift sets for ds’s stocking several years ago, remember putting them in the garage along with everything else I’d hidden, went to get them for wrapping only never to be seen again.

Also bought a happy land play set for dd. Completely forgot I had bought it wasn’t found till just before her birthday in march so gave it to her for her birthday instead as an extra present!

Recently found a cheap child’s cross stitch set in the loft unopened, I remember buying it for dd when she was about 8. She’s now 19!

I've found my tribe 😁😁

😂 my mum lost a necklace for my sister once and never did find it. Even worse was she didn’t lose mine so I got one but she didn’t!

I’ve done it so often I now have a system!

Every time I buy a present early I set a diary note for December 15th telling myself where I put it.

Lost £40.00 2x DC Xmas money one year .Found in Summer in shelf in bedroom cupboard .This year managed to lose a Deliveroo voucher ,Replaced it ,lady in Smiths said "When the original turns up buy yourself a takeout" .Bloody right, I will!
