Turkey cancelled due to courier issues

Sundaychiller · 20/12/2022 12:10

I ordered a turkey, chipolatas etc from an online butcher and they have emailed cancelling due to issues with DPD!
Can anyone recommend where to buy a turkey breast roll or similar to feed 3 that cooks quickly as I am short of free time to cook.
Thanks for your help

M&S had plenty of those a couple of days ago.

I have a turkey crown in my freezer and I've got the pigs in blankets, sausage meat stuffing, and even bread sauce in the freezer as I'm going to be at my MILs cooking so limited time to make all this stuff. You should be able to find all you need at most shops!

Ilikewinter · 20/12/2022 12:33

I was going to say any supermarket!

Chardonnay73 · 20/12/2022 12:35

Was it Donald Russell? My delivery arrived a day late just on the cusp of starting to defrost.

Itstarts · 20/12/2022 12:37

Literally any supermarket

inappropriateraspberry · 20/12/2022 12:46

All the supermarkets have stuff like this.

BrewandBiscuit · 20/12/2022 12:48

I got mine from Tesco

gamerchick · 20/12/2022 12:50

Everywhere that sells them.

Ursuladevine · 20/12/2022 12:55

For 3?

Stroll in to literally any supermarket you can think of

Wonnle · 20/12/2022 12:57

Have you tried Screwfix ?

Blimey it's not rocket science is it !

balzamico · 20/12/2022 12:59

@Wonnle 😂

Notonyournellykelly · 20/12/2022 12:59

Every supermarket or local butcher will have these.

Waiting for OP to tell us she's on St Helena, or is a lighthouse keeper, or is on deployment in Kenya, or on the international space station...

Itisbetter · 20/12/2022 13:06

Do you mean anywhere that will deliver maybe?

Glassofwhatever · 20/12/2022 13:06

🤣🤣🤣 yeah literally anywhere....hth

Sundaychiller · 20/12/2022 13:09

Ok, you are all right it was a stupid question :) I just wasn't thinking straight after seeing the email
I will stroll into a shop and buy one, thanks all for levelling me out

Last year I bought a goose online but a few days later near to Xmas - the delivery day - they went out of business!
They should have gone out of business before everyone was buying for Xmas!
So no goose - as all sold out elsewhere - but my bank reimbursed me.

Is it just me but I've noted that every supermarket we've been to since Sunday has loads of Christmas food. Are people spending less and or going for other food?

I think the timing is odd this year, being on Sunday, I'm doing Boxing Day and won't be buying much before Thursday/Friday, once I've decided what I'm serving!

I went to Tesco this morning. Most of the fresh food (meat and dairy) had use by dates of 23rd/24th. So I didn't buy it. If everyone else is thinking the same then the shelves will remain full!

Yes I agree, Aldi's had best before dates of the 22nd when we went shopping 2 days ago. Waste of time. We are going Xmas Eve morning, at 6am :)

Where to find some meat for 3 (three?) people? What?

walk into a supermarket. Head to meat and poultry aisle. But whatever tickles fancy.

If she is on deployment in Kenya I can tell her exactly where to buy turkey breast and pigs in blankets. They're not even hard to find here mine arrived yesterday.
