I requested a refund from SG via email. I had to send a couple of emails and did get it. It was only £3.99 but every penny counts!

newroundhere · 16/12/2022 14:30

Has anyone seen any "racing" crackers with wind up toys in at any of the supermarkets? I need them for the weekend and the place I ordered online from last month has just cancelled my delivery 😭

lemonsmum · 16/12/2022 14:45

@newroundhere They were in store when I went in island today

@Justhereforthechristmasthreads thank you so much for this info I hadn’t found that update. I’m sorry to hear that he’s unwell and will just let things slide.

re Victoria's secret body sprays @Snowflakes2 I got them in Next. Buying one is £15 but 2 are £22 and 3 are £27
still quite pricy for what they are, but they'll get used I suppose

Mine is £27! I'm pissed off!

Snowflakes2 · 16/12/2022 16:50

@ClosedAuraOpenMind didn't realise they would be so pricey! Thanks, il take a look. She has also requested dior perfume but think il just stick to the sprays.

Snowflakes2 · 16/12/2022 10:38

Where is the cheapest place for the Victoria secret sprays please? My teen has decided she would like some.

I think Home Bargains and B&M often have them for about £9

Yalz · 16/12/2022 17:32

The Chocolate Society is offering free postage for £20+ this weekend. They say they use DPD.

The site says “Almost Perfect items will typically come in simple packaging and are therefore not appropriate for gifting” but the malt balls I’ve bought in the past have been boxed.

Although a lot of the seconds have sold out they have dark and milk malt balls for £4 instead of £9, with best before dates in February and March. I recommend the Honeycomb Coal which is £2 for 150g instead of £8.50, best before 27 December.

(Apologies if I’ve mentioned this already, when the free postage limit was higher. I searched for “coal” but didn’t find anything chocolatey.)

I bought the 'coal' a few weeks ago from Chocolate Society and it looks brilliant. My DC will love it as have never had it before.

puppydisaster · 16/12/2022 17:53

The Dairy Milk is at £7 instead of £9 for anyone who can't get it out of their heads!

AlabamaWorley22 · 16/12/2022 18:04

Can anyone please share any good deals (referrals or discounts or whatever) for wine deliveries which will arrive before Christmas? (Smashed grapes can look the other way right now)

thanks

newroundhere · 16/12/2022 18:11

Thanks @lemonsmum and @snowmanshoes - that gives me something to aim for in the morning!

What’s your budget? Laithwaites are great. I ordered a few cases from them as presents last year.

They have [https://www.laithwaites.co.uk/product/M16246 this mixed case with free wine glasses) for £65]] which is a great offer, or the code SAVE40 takes £40 off several of their other cases taking them down to the same kind of price.

Its technically a subscription, but I just cancelled the subscription straight after ordering.

MerylSqueak · 16/12/2022 19:32

If anyone else has an Argos code for a £60 spend, I would be very grateful. The code upthread has been used.

Babynumberthreeee · 16/12/2022 19:50

Please can someone help me find a novelty present for dh? I've just realised all his presents are totally dull! Not looking to spend too much just want something unexpected.

Also my boss. Not long started a new job so don't really know him that well. Hes very into football and golf. Any ideas appreciated

Talisin · 16/12/2022 20:28

@AlabamaWorley22 Whatever you do, don’t go anywhere near Virgin Wines right now. They used to be really good but are currently having some sort of IT meltdown in their warehouse and orders are taking weeks.

KavvLar · 16/12/2022 20:32

Just seen on playpennies you can get three YSL Touché Eclat pens for £24 from Boots. There’s 3 for 2 and £10 off. Not sure if you can mix and match but I just bought three of the concealer pens and it came to £24. No code needed it came off, then put a shower gel in to get it over free delivery. Very pleased

Snowflakes2 · 16/12/2022 20:34

@boobybum perfect! Il go Monday, thanks.

Soscrewed · 16/12/2022 20:52

Looking at HUKD - £10 off a £40 spend at hobbycraft with code DM10OFF40

Puffalicious · 16/12/2022 20:54

I stopped online ordering way last week (still waiting on Honestly Eco and Personalised Gifts😡). I'm relieved I started early and had everything else delivered weeks ago.

But work's secret Santa just drawn on Wed (harrumph) so popped to shops yesterday. Amazing 2 for £7 books in HMV. A wide selection - music books obv, but also classic/ modern classic novels, autobiographies, politics, comedy etc. I really don't know how they can do it. The Noam Chomsky book I bought was £14.99k across the road in Waterstone's! Apparently folk have been returning books to Waterstone's after seeing them way cheaper in HMV.

Thanks. I just ordered from them and managed to combine a referral Code for £40 off £100 with an Amex cashback offer. So I ended up paying less than £70 for £140 worth of wine. Happy days!

@Talisin thanks for that tip off - I’ll give them a wide berth.

If anybody wants to gamble on Christmas shipping (or buy for later dates), Elves boutique currently have 20% off all toys automatically applied.

They have brands like schleich, tender leaf toys, Lanka kade etc. I got the wooden digger puzzle I’d been debating, and some schleich rainbow unicorns.

It’s a bit of a sift through as loads is out of stock.

user143677433 · 16/12/2022 21:10

Do we know how DPD are doing with deliveries? I’ve had a parcel stuck in one of their depots for a few days now.
