Will a toddler notice or care if we skip Christmas?

I am really not feeling up to creating Christmas at the moment for various reasons. If I just skip it and don’t decorate etc this year will a 20mo care or even notice? I am thinking probably not. On Christmas Day we will visit a relative and she will have a few presents.

We're only giving DD 22 months a bag of choccy buttons. She'll be thrilled and dsnt get the whole Santa thing! Don't beat yourself up. Next year she'll care but this is your last free pass xx

OP, mine wouldn’t have noticed one little bit at that age, and neither are they now saying, ‘Hey mum, how come there aren’t any pics of me next to a whopping big pile of presents that Christmas before I turned 2?’

Bin it if it doesn’t serve you this year. Don’t give it a second thought.

On of the most sensible post I’ve read for a long time

Good update OP, and ignore those who say that you might regret it, you won't, because you are doing something on the day.

Sorry you’re feeling like this Mama, be kind to yourself xx

Toddler won't notice but i think it will make you feel more shit not doing anything at all. Christmas is pretty magical with little ones.

You don't have to overdo it insta style.
