Can anyone recommend a reliable company for seeds, both flowers and vegetables, please? Preferably ones where you can vouch that things will actually grow? Thank you!

@deeplybaffled I use Suttons Seeds and have grown vegetables successfully from seed and plugs.

Thanks everyone for the typo cereal bowl recommendation! I like the personalised one too but he's clumsy and I don't want to pay too much for something he might smash or leave under his bed to grow a new civilisation

snowmanshoes · 27/11/2022 10:50

Monica Vinader 24hr flash sale - 30-50% off items.

Does anyone have any good suggestions as a thoughtful and useful gift for someone who might be struggling in the current financial climate?

ItIsMyName · 27/11/2022 11:09

The British Red Cross online shop has scented soy candles with 20% off.

newroundhere · 27/11/2022 11:10

For people who ordered the Turtle Doves fingerless gloves - does anyone know how small the slender ones are? The person I'm buying for is very petite but don't want to get kids sized ones...

Not sure if this is the right thing but what about a voucher for Marks and a Spencer, that way food can be bought if needed, some lovely treats or clothing. Vouchers can be a bit bland though.

or a hamper with treats that the recipient may not buy for themself.

If they have a family then a cinema or experience voucher?

NEOM

There is a limited range on ASOS which is staking with 'all30' for up to 30% off (random).

I just got the well-being pod RRP £95, already reduced to £76, for a further 30% off. So glad I held out!

That code is only giving me 15% off - ASOS clearly doesn't like me 😭

Sixmonthson · 27/11/2022 11:15

For brownies by post I highly recommend

luminarybakery.co/collections/brownies

letterbox delivery plus 10% off first order. Really delicious and a great company

christmaspudding43 · 27/11/2022 11:19

Am I right in remembering that the scrawlrbox code stopped working? I've got four of the £5 previous boxes in my basket. I don't mind paying £5 each, but just thought I'd check in case I was missing something. Also... anyone who has already received one, would you mind posting a pic? TIA

Will the ebay turtle dove fingerless gloves be ok for a teen? She has constantly cold hands to the point her fingernails go blue.
She has thin wrists.

Please help! DS's laptop has broken and he'd like to replace it with a v expensive Macbook Air (512, 16GB). The Apple educational offers don't seem to cover this spec - is that right? Is anyone else more savvy than me? Or would anyone know the cheapest place to buy this? 🙏

@FriendlyLaundryMonster , if you're still looking, maybe select have offers that work for the MacBook you're looking for?

FlamingJingleBells · 27/11/2022 12:05

@Snowflakes2 yes turtledove will fit a teen, both my dd (13) & I have skinny hands and they fit snug. There is a comment box on the order form so you can request a smaller fit for your dd. That's what I did and they put a note on the gloves when they posted them to me. Both the main website and their ebay store were brilliant.

The slim fingerless gloves fit my raynauds suffering 11 yr old DD perfectly. She loves them. I ended up ordering quite a few (I was the OP who found them on ebay) They have been amazing and we both love them. And they really work, too. It's true what they say about keeping the wrists warm. Same as they say about running cold water on them to cool you down in summer.

Heated throw? I'm finding mine invaluable now we're having the heating on less.

Duckskitbank · 27/11/2022 12:07

@Snowflakes2 sounds like she might have Raynaud’s. Fingerless gloves will never be as warm, no matter what they are made of. I’d buy her gloves with fingers and get her to a doctor for a check up.
