Due to be induced on the 23rd November would you put your tree up now. My partner wants to???

Yes mines up and I'm not having a baby 🤣

Onceinnever · 20/11/2022 14:11

Slightly early for me but if you like it up early then why not

Floralnomad · 20/11/2022 14:11

Definitely .

lawofselfish · 20/11/2022 14:11

No because I couldn't be arsed taking it down when I'd have a newborn.

You'll fucking hate that tree

fairgame84 · 20/11/2022 14:12

I had ds at end of November and put tree up the day before he was induced. I wouldn't have had the time or energy after he was born. Those first few weeks are relentless.

Thesearmsofmine · 20/11/2022 14:13

Ohh no I’d wait. I had one of my dc at the end of November and it was lovely putting the tree up with our newborn in the room, felt really nice doing it as a family for the first time(obviously dc had zero idea!). My DH did a lot as I was recovering from a c section.

TheNoodlesIncident · 20/11/2022 14:28

Yes, but he's responsible for doing the legwork and you get to designate where items will go. And he has to take it all down too.

Don't leave it until the baby's born, you probably won't have the headspace then.

namechangedembarrassing · 20/11/2022 14:45

Lol I had such a terrible birth and it was so relentless to start we were barely able to get it up in December and she was born in September. So yes I would!

Blueberry111 · 20/11/2022 14:47

Defines put up...you might be too unwell to put up later....

LadyMarmaladeAtkins · 20/11/2022 15:34

Yes I would.

Doveyouknow · 20/11/2022 15:40

I had a Dec baby. I have very fond memories of us going to get the Xmas tree with him wrapped up in the buggy. He slept through the whole trip. We still go to the same place to pick an Xmas tree each year around his birthday so it was the start of a tradition.

SamVimesFavouriteDragon · 20/11/2022 15:42

I would! The thought of baby photos by the Christmas tree is too cute 🥰
The build up to due date is such a strange feeling - wishing you lots of luck

CornishTiger · 20/11/2022 15:53

No I’d like the new baby cards to be displayed without extra clutter.

SkylightSkylight · 20/11/2022 15:57

I would. Mines going up next weekend (well, that's the plan!!) & (unfortunately) no new baby!!

it'll be lovely to come home to it all done! & not another thing on the 'To Do' list!!

plus, it'll only annoy you if he's putting up the tee when you want him to make you a hot drink & take the baby for a bit.

Congrstulstions & best wishes for baby's birth!!

neighboursmustliveon · 20/11/2022 16:06

Ours went up yesterday and we have no good reason like you!

If I was having a baby in a few days they would absolutely go up now!

RedHelenB · 20/11/2022 16:12

Put it up but personally I wouldn't switch lights on until December. There's nothing nicer than a newborn baby for Christmas.

Youredaft · 20/11/2022 16:15

You’re me exactly 1 year ago 😊 baby came on 24th November.. we put our decs up 2 days before, what a blessing it was too, was amazing bringing baby home to a cosy Christmassy home. Hope the induction goes well my love! ❤️

Loveatortie · 20/11/2022 16:53

My first DC was due end of November, we put the tree before. So glad we did as he was 2 weeks late.

20viona · 20/11/2022 17:02

No I'd wait. You might be fine after your induction. I was at flip out with my 3 year old 11 days after my other daughter was born as I was bored out of my brains 😂 it will give you something to do. (Aware not everyone has this experience just how I was personally)

JustAJokeLikeOnTopGear · 20/11/2022 17:05

I was due the same time, ended up being in hospital for 8 days so would have been easier to have done it before.

We ended up going buying it on the way home from hospital!

Greytea · 20/11/2022 17:08

I wouldn’t, but I only put the tree up maybe the last weekend before Christmas, so November is way too early for me. But if it makes it easier for you, why not?

Oblomov22 · 20/11/2022 17:17

Yes. If it suits you to, pre childbirth, no issue.

TooHotToRamble · 20/11/2022 18:09

Definitely do it now! You don't know how you or baby will be after the birth. The first few weeks can be really challenging. Get it out of the way.

chantico · 20/11/2022 18:13

Bir premature (the tree, not the baby) as Advent Sunday isn't until 27th

I'd get DP to do it when the baby is actually here, and agree with pp that it'll feel quite different in a special sort of way.

But if you really want to do it beforehand, there's no reason not to

Prettypennies · 20/11/2022 18:28

I would get the decs down and ready and put the tree up but decorate when baby is home :)
