Nearly 16 year old boy wants "things to make his new bedroom look less bare"

He has what is essentially a newly built bedroom after some building work in our house.

It looks very white and bare.

All I can think of is a cool bedside light.

He talked about posters but he's not really into anything. So struggling to think of anything He's a bit on the geeky side.

All suggestions welcome.

Other than that, new bedspread, blanket, cushions. All things I've bought for one daughter who wants her room in a certain theme.

How can he be on the 'geeky' side but not be into anything? geeky litrally means 'knowledgeble and interested in things'.

By that I mean not anything obvious for posters such as bands or football etc. He likes coding and a bit into gaming but nothing that stands out that we could buy a poster of.

When we moved into new build and DS in that awquard pre teen age, I bought them each 6 A2 blank canvases
and then we went to diy shop and they each bought 3 colours of tester pots

we put sheeting down in the garage and they went to work in best “Jackson pollock” art attack. I see, to remember one of them did a few in a Mondrian style

they could have a look at some abstract art on line to come up with ideas- but just drizzling and splashing paint on gave some really great effects

we then put the 6 canvases up on the blank walls and added in a few other items in same colour such as a big cushion that could go on floor as seat.

Did the trick well, my eldest DS did the same again when he was older and wanted a change of colours. My younger one replaced eventually with posters. For those I bought some very large clip frames so he could easily switch over posters without damaging the walls.

Oh, if he likes coding…you could always get some stencils of numbers and letters and do same thing…he could put codes up that he’s written etc.
