I’m struggling with what to buy my fiancé for Christmas, one of the few ideas l have is fudge. The only problem is he is a fudge snob! Does anyone have any recommendations please?

Home made? Look up recipes and try out some recipes.

The best recipe is on the back of condensed milk tins

Ochil Fudge Pantry have lots of choice of flavours and you can make up your own gift boxes.

Roly’s fudge shop in Lincoln do amazing fudge. Perfectly crumbly and creamy. They do mail order and gift boxes: rolysfudge.co.uk

Yes I agree! Nothing else I've tried comes close. They deliver also!

It's soft buttery sweet fudge that melts in your mouth.

Posh fudge doesn’t come from shops

Another vote for Rolys, lovely. They have shops in a few places.

Edinburgh Fudge Kitchen is to die for

Thanks to you I’m on the website now

this is the best ever, proper crumbly tablet

Pinkapron · 13/11/2022 00:31

I’m a fudge snob too, and highly recommend Roly’s too! Especially the sea salt flavour. It tastes very fresh and crumbly/grainy, just as it should.

Newcatbrowntail · 13/11/2022 00:32

Have to agree with pp who say that the best fudge is homemade with the carnation tin recipe

CliffordMystery · 13/11/2022 00:40

The Toffee Shop in Penrith, Cumbria. The standard butter fudge is amazing. You can get it from their website.

LozzaChops101 · 13/11/2022 00:48

My colleague makes UNBELIEVABLE fudge in her slow cooker, and I don’t even like fudge normally. It’s not the crumbly kind though, if that’s a deal breaker. If you have a slow cooker then I think any slow cooker condensed milk fudge recipe does the trick!

namechange5575 · 13/11/2022 01:01

I don't like the chewy type of fudge, but Waitrose do some lovely grainy crumbly fudges, including a mince pie flavour one. It probably doesn't count as properly posh, but worth a try or a mini gift.

Brokendaughter · 13/11/2022 02:49

sarahbunton.co.uk

comes highly recommended (she does chocolates too)
National Geographic rated her in the top ten best Fudge shops in the UK & she wins awards.

Making your own makes the best fudge though.

WhiplashGirlchild · 13/11/2022 03:07

I'm so happy to see this thread! I adore fudge but it's almost impossible to buy and I find it very difficult, time consuming and messy to make. I'm going to go through each of these links now. It's gonna be a fudgy Christmas!

(Condensed milk or slow cooker fudge isn't the same thing at all. Real fudge is the true definition of melt-in-the-mouth)

boatahoy · 13/11/2022 11:20

I also second Edinburgh Fudge Co - it's amazing!

Coffeaddict · 13/11/2022 11:21

Another vote for rolys fudge. They are amazing, they have a good few shops dotted throughout the UK but you can order online as well

makingmiracles · 13/11/2022 11:24

We have a rolys fudge locally, they are very nice, but for the absolute best I’d recommend “edwards fudge kitchen” they deliver and it’s presented in lovely boxes, Many many flavours, but it’s sooooo nice! I sometimes get it for birthday etc and it’s my absolute fave!
