Looks like we need another thread so here goes. I'll stick the usual top of thread messages in a follow on post.

I have just spent ages shopping on Flying Tiger for little advent calendar bits / stocking fillers, then had £10 delivery put on at the checkout! This seems insanely expensive - is it a Brexit thing? Anyone know of any free delivery codes?

MoveMore · 10/11/2022 14:05

Thanks have ordered for the £9 will be ideal for the other dots set I got (I’ve had to resist the other one you linked 🤦‍♀️).

Can I ask a general Amazon question on prices. The above is showing at £17.99 still when I search then £9 when go into other sellers (but still sold and dispatched by Amazon). I’ve noticed this a couple of times. Any idea how I can get the cheaper prices showing without having to review each item? I usually search say “lego dots” then look for good prices but the above £9 deal was “hidden”.

I hate to burst anyone's bubble, but they're highly unlikely to be genuine Oodies. Even the photo looks like a much thinner hood. I've had mine almost 2 years and it's still thick and so soft after many washes. I bought the kids theirs too and they've had such brilliant wear out of them and will fit them forever, that they're worth the price. Make one a main present and it's then an investment you don't feel guilty about.

Take a punt with the £5 shop ones, great, but don't count on Oodie seconds, they're most likely a decent copy.

I've bought other clothes from this site and although the tags are cut you can still workout which high street shop they are from. It's all old stock or seconds

@MoveMore Its so hit and miss im afraid, I tend to trawl two pages, 'vouchers' and 'today's deals'. You often find bestsellers helpful, for example that dots set was in the craft bestsellers, I then click on and see if it has a sneaky hidden price.

Maybe theres an easier way but I havent found it yet, its a bit hit and miss sorry (it deffo helps if you know what you want but I never do lol)

Serenitesanta · 10/11/2022 14:13

Any ideas for a two year old boy who lives dinosaurs please?

Glitterandmud · 10/11/2022 14:15

Just seen an email from wonderbly with a discount code, MERRY takes £10 off.

Tamtam86 · 10/11/2022 14:23

Lakeland codes expiring in a few days, the cleaning cloths aren't very christmassy 😂 but if anyone can make use of 20% off the coffee making range then help yourself

Has anyone seen any s'mores kits with a candle? They all seem v expensive or the cheap ones look a bit, well, cheap!

Yoyoyo1 · 10/11/2022 14:30

Any ideas for 10 year old boy who is not into gaming and/or football?

Itsallyellow22 · 10/11/2022 14:30

The navy hoodie blanket I ordered arrived, it's a genuine oodie (I have others to compare it to and the label was only party cut). Very pleased 😀

redjoker · 10/11/2022 14:34

My smashed Grapes boxes are on their way!

Tbh a little earlier than i anticipated! I may have to order more for actual xmas, the irony!

Ruralretreating · 10/11/2022 14:38

@redjoker thanks for the Lego hoodie link, ordered lots of items for Lego obsessed son, may have to return some as got over excited and spent an unbargainous amount in total 🤦‍♀️

hiredandsqueak · 10/11/2022 14:38

My navy one is an Oodie too very happy at that. If the Otter one is a genuine Oodie too I will be delighted. Thank you to whoever gave the heads up.

PicsForCliques · 10/11/2022 14:41

@Yoyoyo1 not a candle but I got one from Etsy last year with one of them gel tins that you light? Came with all the kit for about a tenner, it was lovely.

also for my almost 10 year old I’ve got him a Fitbit and I’m getting him a metal detector

whatwillicallmyself · 10/11/2022 12:29

@Sisisimone yes I do have prime maybe I'm just never quick enough to get the discounts😀

Same. I think with those voucher box ones they only have a certain amount available then they revert to full price

hiredandsqueak · 10/11/2022 14:43

@Serenitesanta My grandson 3 has this and loves it because the jaw opens to eat everything

redjoker · 10/11/2022 14:44

@Ruralretreating Ironically very rarely spend money, just enjoy encouraging others ;)

I was wondering the same thing, my DC have some mini figures on their Xmas lists and don’t know where to buy from. Has anyone bought Lego mini figures from anywhere else they would recommend?

I use Bricklink they are like eBay for Lego. You can get boxed sets, spare parts and minifigs from sellers worldwide. It was recommended to me by a Lego staff member when searching for a replacement piece!

DancingMachine · 10/11/2022 14:49

Having a look on vipon and they have the panda money box codes on - makes it about £5.60 codes are single use. 🐼

thaegumathteth · 10/11/2022 14:51

There's a Harumika single torso neon set reduced to £8.40 on Amazon

Cuwins · 10/11/2022 14:54

Has anyone got a personalised photo frame from somewhere that was decent quality and a good price? Lots on etsy but I would prefer a recommendation as I have found stuff on there hit and miss.
By personalised I mean I want 'first friends' and 2 names on the actual frame. It's from my DD to a baby friend who will be moving from foster care to a permanent home so we won't see any more. Therefore I do want something good quality that can be a keepsake.
If anyone else has a brilliant idea for a keepsake sort of present then let me know too.

Cuwins · 10/11/2022 14:56

Should have said budget of about £10-15

Snowflakes2 · 10/11/2022 15:01

Received my 5 pound stuff hoodie today. I ordered the charcoal grey one it is wrapped with a cardboard sleeve saying Huggle hoody as seen on TV.
Seems like the same material and thickness as the sienna ones from amazon for same price.

Any great gift ideas for a 6 year old autistic boy from other SEN parents? Especially anything that you've found makes life easier for your autistic children! We already have blackout tent, body sock, various sensory toys. He can't manage anything with little pieces, or games he can lose at! Sensory things are great but messy so any ideas for engaging, emotionally regulating, non-messy gifts would be appreciated!
