If you shop there, what do you buy?

Toffolossus biscuits. £20 for a tube of them so definitely a Christmas treat, but my god they are good.

They are gorgeous, they do refil packs now!
I like the marshmallows
I work behind F&M and love a wander round there in my lunch hour

LesLavandes · 02/11/2022 20:57

Ginger shortbread is yummy.
There is also a gorgeous soft cheese from N Ireland.

I used to buy my dad the selection of jams - tiny tiny pots (6-8 in the pack). It was a great christmas tree pressie. He really liked the jams and then used the jars for screws!

More recently I bought their decaff tea bags for my mum who can now only drink decaff - she told me they taste like any others (ie awful!). So that's fine Mum - shan't bother again!! I had also ordered for her for Christmas some other bits including their cucumber dill pickles. They were fermented. The seal must have broken. F&M customer service were lovely - immediately sent a replacement and insisted on adding her a little pressie to say sorry. That is how to do customer service.

OT but the best decaf tea bags I’ve found are Yorkshire tea.

We were gifted this last Christmas. The box is cool (now used to store toy cars), the champagne was lovely but didn't like the chocolate. They possibly ended up being binned in fact as no one wanted them.

triplechoc · 02/11/2022 21:09

We received a hamper last year, heaven! The merrilossus biscuits were the best things ever, also there was a jar of cognac butter that was glorious inside a warm mince pie. Also strawberry and champagne jam very nice.
I’ve never actually tried the fruit teas/infusions, but the tins are beautiful.

CoffeeFanatic · 02/11/2022 21:09

Thanks for reminding me - I normally get DH a tin of ground coffee.

ManefesationofConciousness · 02/11/2022 21:09

Their chocolates are made by Audreys

gigglinggirl · 02/11/2022 21:25

Toffolossus biscuits. Stilton. Don’t buy their ketchup though - it’s really vinegary x

VivaJen · 02/11/2022 21:36

F&M loose leaf teas are lovely, coffee (especially Christmas blend) is great. Jams, marmalade, honey, chutneys are all great. The triple cream cheese and truffle cheddar are epic!

AlternativelyWired · 02/11/2022 21:59

@sittingonacornflake champagne truffles are my favourite chocolates.

Absolutely craving chocolate champagne truffles now. I may have a look and buy family some bits

yomellamoHelly · 02/11/2022 22:10

Their loose leaf tea. Violet creams (rose creams lovely too). Turkish delight. Any biscuits. Love F&M stuff

WorriedMillie · 02/11/2022 22:16

probably missing the point here, but their bags for life make lovely parts of gifts and they really abide by their promise. I took in a knackered 10’year old one recently and traded it in for a lovely new one ❤️
I’m thinking of ordering tea bags, biscuits and jams for pressies this year

I've just had a pie off then which was totally inedible, we couldn't eat it, it tasted foul.

I've not heard anything!
Very very disappointed,it cost 35 .

AlternativelyWired · 02/11/2022 22:33

What kind of pie was it?

That is such a shame. Have you tried calling again? I think I phoned rather than emailed - probably Jan 2021. Straight through, explained the issue (fermented) and was asked how I wanted the problem dealt with (I preferred replacement rather than refund), was offered the extra and it was all sent off to my mum. It was less than your pie, by a lot, but (my low) value didnt seem to affect at all how I was dealt with.

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 02/11/2022 22:36

Irish soft cheese is to die for. Short shelf life though.
Dark chocolate florentines
Mini almond mince pies

Not a fan of the hampers. Wish you could do bespoke ones. They're usually about 50% stuff my family wouldn't eat/drink. A biscuits and cake one would be perfect!

TheHouseonHauntedHill · 02/11/2022 22:39

Well I called and explained that 3 people seperatly found it inedible, she said to keep it ( huge pie in our fridge and Someone would be in touch.
I then got an email asking for the box no!
Box was disposed of the first day! I sent stuff from the letter and Havant heard back.

scrivette · 02/11/2022 22:40

Champagne truffles
Box of four tea cakes

Thank you - it is kind of you to comment. The moaning gets a bit much. But she really does appreciate strangers helping. I live in an area where someone has set up a freebies facebook site for the local community - it is fab. Works really well. Someone offered spare decaff teabags so we all ended up having quite a conversation about decaff tea merits or not! I ended up with a variety bag left on my doorstep for my mum. She couldn't believe that a total stranger would do that. It was great - she got to try all sorts. So I will let her know your recommendation!

That doesnt seem unreasonable to not keep perishable food boxes. I wonder if they were looking for the batch number. I would chase. If that many people wouldnt eat - definitely sounds off.

sittingonacornflake · 03/11/2022 05:05

@Rustyheart I know! But no one who visited ever wanted them and I declared myself fat enough without scoffing a load of chocolate I didn't like Blush but at least the box has a new lease of life with the toy cars Grin

Brokendaughter · 03/11/2022 05:47

Earl Grey Tea biscuits (not the round shortbread ones, the leaf shaped ones) are a favourite here.
The Pistachio & Clotted Cream biscuits also seem to get hoovered up.
All the losses biscuits are nice, especially now you can buy top ups instead of ending up throwing away the empty tins to get another tin.
They are big biscuits though.

I don't rate their regular flavours of jam as they all seem way too sweet to me, but do like the curds.
The Apple & Cinnamon curd is really lovely - it's very Autumnal & makes a lovely cake filling.
Morello Cherry & Chocolate curd is also a favourite here.

The Cinnamon dusted Almonds are very nice & the marzipan.

I could go on, but I think those would be my top picks right now.
They are all things I've purchased more than once.

You can do bespoke hampers.
They are an option after you've picked collect/deliver at checkout.
If you have something they won't let you put in a hamper (seems to be anything in the hamper section, even a gift box) it tells you something can't go in a hamper.
Other than the Halloween one we got last week, which was really because my son wanted the black hamper (he liked the sweets & hot chocolate too), I always do bespoke rather than the made up ones as most have alcohol that I don't want in them.
