Big Amazon order will arrive over the next few days (except for a game on pre-order) and I know it's not even November yet, but it's always such a relief to get the kids done.

Now I can focus on the food, drink, and other gifts (not that I really buy for anyone else).

Happy as well as I came in under budget by around £90 😁 across the 3 of them.

They'll get money from the inlaws and my parents which they'll spend on lego undoubtedly come January.

Anyone else finished? Hows the budget looking?

No but I’m definitely on my way to being done!
I will come in under budget on previous years but near enough on my new revised budget for this year.
Feeling happy enough about it 😁

JessesMum777888 · 30/10/2022 15:51

I haven’t even started.
I go on holiday for 2 weeks in a couple of weeks and hope to complete on our new house before Christmas. God knows when shopping happens ! Wish I was organised x

ThisMustBeMyDream · 30/10/2022 15:56

Done a bit, not as much as usual as we weren't sure if a house move was going g ahead (looking like it is now) so I didn't want to buy certain things if we were staying here with far less space. Also needed to know if budget was tighter.
I'm off work tomorrow and going out to do a good chunk of the kids after spending today researching various prices.

I am stumped for my 1yo

fdkc · 30/10/2022 16:25

I am 3 quarters of the way there. I have 4 kids, 3 teens and a 5 year old. My budget was €3000 and I think I'm going to go over 😪

I am stumped for my 1yo

Mine are all much older, 13, 11 & 10.

When mine were 1yo there were a couple of firm favourite toys. One was a wooden Caterpillar that had disks on it which you could sort onto the body of it. I think it was from the early learning centre (does that even still exist?)

The other was the large, soft stacking blocks. They had letters and pictures on them and mine liked to build towers and then crawl/run into them knocking them over. Over and over again.

Got their ‘big’ present which is a joint one this year. It was 40% off!

Some stocking bits picked up and some in online baskets until I get paid. Don’t have a specific budget but am trying to spend less this year as I’m on maternity leave and we’re not exactly flush with the bills going up.

@girlmom21 my third will be 9 months. Some items on her list (including ones my older two had, taken down from the loft and wrapped up)
nesting dolls - I found a cool silicon version
chunky paint brushes and rollers
a wobble board (will save this for her first birthday I think)
Peg dolls and little cups for them to go into
plastic animals

Yikes!! I budgeted £600 to shop for my 3 kids. DD13 came in a little over £150, the other two just shy of £180.

I'm so glad mine arent interested in designer items or fancy iPhones etc. Biggest costs are my sons love on Nintendo Switch games, specifically Mario and Pokemon games.

😯😯 jeez I wish I could get away with that amount. Its my own fault, I started big when they were young and despite trying to cut down over the years, I just couldn't do it.

Main presents this year are an electric scooter for €520, an iPhone 12 refurbished for €600, 10 driving lessons for €500 and a Barbie dream house for the youngest for €260. As you can see that's half the budget for 1 item each.

I don't get the crying face, your budget is an obscene amount of money to start with and to continue spending even beyond that is your own choice. If you can afford it then crack on but if you're upset at spending over €3000 on one part of one day then just stop spending.

FourTeaFallOut · 30/10/2022 16:45

Not really. My eldest only want money, my middle child has no idea what he wants and my youngest changes his mind so frequently that experience has taught me that it's best to hang on until December.

Flubadubba · 30/10/2022 16:46

Only have DH, SIL and two BILs to go.

DC was the first to be done- she has a later Summer birthday, and I always over buy to set up Xmas.

Misspacorabanne · 30/10/2022 16:49

I've finished my kids too, alittle over my budget though, but done! Got dh and a close friend to get and then I'll be finished, just the food and drink.

grayhairdontcare · 30/10/2022 16:56

I was done a couple of weeks ago and it's all wrapped.
Food is ordered from M&S for collection on Christmas Eve.
8 weeks till the big day and now I can relax

caringcarer · 30/10/2022 17:00

Well done you. I have got DS girlfriend as I had to check with him first. I have a few stocking fillers for adult DC. 2 X Red bubble T shirts, Toblerone, chocolate orange, car air freshener, PJ's, Marvel pants and socks, book, still need a few other bits.

WhosafraidofVirginiaWoolf · 30/10/2022 17:07

I've finished for DS17.

A book and a sweatshirt.

minipie · 30/10/2022 17:10

Haven’t even begun to think about Christmas, only just got DD bday out of the way!

They change their minds so often I’d be nervous to buy stuff now tbh

Thatsasmashingblouseyouvegoton · 30/10/2022 17:10

Yeah
Pretty much done
Apart from the dreaded twitch! 😬

Really pleased with what I've got them. They are always grateful for whatever they get but this year ds1 is 19 so he's got a couple of alcohol gifts he's dropped hints about 😃 and youngest has got 2 big boxes of make up/toiletries which I've been buying in the sales since August 🙂

Just waiting for dh to decide what he wants 🙄 although I'm dreading being asked...got no clue this year!

BrutusMcDogface · 30/10/2022 17:10

Haven’t even started, but have got a few ideas. We never usually set a budget but I’ve suggested we do so this year! 4 kids. Won’t be anywhere near £3K, though!! 😳😂

OneRingToRuleThemAll · 30/10/2022 17:11

My budget is £200 per child (teens) it was much less when they were younger.

A main gift of around £100 and then some smaller gifts.

But we don't buy things like phones for Christmas. They are replaced as and when needed (when they break, not when they are 'due an upgrade').

BrutusMcDogface · 30/10/2022 17:13

My oldest is 13 and has her heart set on some stupidly expensive shoes so I’ll probably budget £200 for her (half of which will be shoes 🙄) and her 11 yo brother but less on the 8 and 4 year olds.

BrutusMcDogface · 30/10/2022 17:13

I’ve asked for one of those massive snuggly hooded fleeces 😊

RuthW · 30/10/2022 17:15

All done and wrapping started.

I have about 20 people to buy for but no children. Partner and parents get about 14 small things each. Dd gets about £300 spent on her.

Cherrysherbet · 30/10/2022 17:17

Nope, haven’t started yet. Haven’t even thought about it.

Sunshineismyfriend · 30/10/2022 17:18

What did you get them? Mine are the same ages and I’m stumped. Older at is a boy and the others are girls.
