What do you want for Christmas?

Every year around this time I'm making my list for Christmas for DH and my parents. We all make lists, to make sure everyone gets something they want & love.

This year I feel completely uninspired (except a folded wallet from Mullberry) so I wanted to ask all of you lovely ladies what's on your Christmas wish list.

Thanks!

I really struggle to think of anything.

Theatre tickets
A new Sara Miller watch. I've been coveting the Turtle one with the blue strap, but it's out of stock.

Weatherwax13 · 26/10/2022 01:25

Ideally I'd like a standard poodle puppy and a massive fuck off diamond ring.
Back in the real world however I'd like
Issey Miyake ( the original one) Wore it for years and want to go back to it.
Some really beautiful pyjamas.
And I'd like a peace lily from DS as he let all my beautiful ten yr old ones die when I was away.
Oh and I want a horse now specifically so I can blow-dry it:)

More than anything I'd love an uninterrupted night's sleep.

(Mum of a 4 months old).

A general election please

Brokendaughter · 26/10/2022 02:41

I get random weird expensive stuff from my relatives, but my best present is the same every year so that's what I always want.

My son makes me a cup of coffee (I have a couple of those machines that take pods so he uses one of those) & draws me a picture.
It used to just be the picture when he was smaller.
Last year, I got an entire comic which he wrote & illustrated.

What is the point in buying your own presents and give it to your other half to wrap?? not only wasting time and paper but completely stupid

Actually, that's not how it works. We make larger lists, and everyone chooses what to buy, how to wrap, and also buys stocking items. It's actually fun to get exactly what you wished for, perhaps things you wouldn't have spent the money on yourself. I wonder if this comment has made you feel better. Nothing is "stupid" just because you think so.

I had this very conversation with my mother the other day and I really don’t need or particularly want anything.

All I’m hoping for is that I’m not working on Christmas Day this year. I have done the last two so by right I should be OK but it doesn’t work like that.

Just to spend Christmas Day with my family is enough for me. But I’m not holding my breath.

Climbingthelaundrymountain · 26/10/2022 05:46

A new Hoover

SeaGlassShining · 26/10/2022 06:21

I hope you get to spend Christmas with your family @Kabbalah 🤞🏾

What's the point of reading and commenting on a thread you should have scrolled on by.

A local artist is doing a sketch of the kids as tinies from one of my favourite photos. Had to be commissioned a while ago, but it's surprisingly affordable. DH has done the (surprisingly large amount of) admin.

Also new PJs.

Not only am I buying my own presents this year, I am also wrapping them.

After years of having to come up with a list of things for me, I then had to compile a list of things to get DH with little in the way of ideas from him. This year I am having a rest from the mental work and dashing around with only the one list which is my own and I will be getting exactly what I want.

You may think this sort of approach is stupid, but so far I am loving it and with CFS I am conserving as much of the little energy I have as possible.

I’m getting the most beautiful Christmas cake stand from Marigold and Lettuce from my wonderful parents and I am so excited about it.
I’m also always delighted to get a nice lipstick in my perpetual search for the perfect red and a good book. I also always get Thorntons alpini chocolates, and one of the best days at Christmas is curled up with my mum, scoffing these and watching the BBC version of pride and prejudice (used to be the Elizabeth Taylor Little Women until my dad taped over our recording 😁).

Mommabear20 · 26/10/2022 08:34

Money towards a new tattoo,
Gift cards to go shopping for some new clothes that actually fit 😂
Candles,

Dacquoise · 26/10/2022 08:53

A birdbox with camera for the garden. Would love to watch Robins nesting.

Silver bangle to add to my collection.

Books, books and more books.
