Every year around this time I'm making my list for Christmas for DH and my parents. We all make lists, to make sure everyone gets something they want & love.

This year I feel completely uninspired (except a folded wallet from Mullberry) so I wanted to ask all of you lovely ladies what's on your Christmas wish list.

Thanks!

@pompei8309 we do this so the dc see us giving and receiving gifts, it makes them happy to see. Money is short so better to not waste it and get what we really want/need.

What is the point in buying your own presents and give it to your other half to wrap?? not only wasting time and paper but completely stupid

Nice comment 🙄

It was actually an idea off MN, stops him buying me things I don’t want and me buying him things he dosnt want. Last year is the first year we have done it and it was fantastic. Last year was also the first year we actually spent money on ourselves so we both wanted to make sure we weren’t wasting it.

Books - mainly about the CIA, MI5 and that sort of thing - first hand encounters of working in these establishments.

Some GCHQ puzzle books.

I will likely have no time to read them mind, I still didn't finish all the bits of my last xmas gift (arduino) - it is stuck in my draw screaming at me every time I open it!

@DoodlePug You should put an ember mug on your list - I don't know about the coasters but with the ember mug you can keep your tea/coffee at a very accurate temp of your choosing (all controlled via your phone) I got mine for my birthday last year and I love it when I'm stuck at my desk as my coffee always goes cold (hate cold coffee).

A new diary for 2023, some cashmere socks, one of the Maison Margiela replica perfumes and some argan hair oil.

QueefofSheena · 25/10/2022 21:35

A really nice leather biker jacket
Perfume, either Molecule 01 (my usual) or Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume. I’ve had that before so I know I like it.

On my list;

a doc martens mini backpack in oxblood
some new gold studs for my second lobe piercing
wireless headphones
cosy loungewear - there is a lilac set in M&S I have my eye on!
theatre/gig tickets (me and DP most years will buy tickets to an event the other would like so we have a couple of things to look forward to throughout the year.)
cult beauty vouchers - I am pregnant and saving mat leave so having vouchers to buy skincare/make up as I need it would be so useful
various books

Just be mindful of the relatively short dates on cult beauty vouchers and the fact that you can’t use two vouchers together in one transaction. I’ve been caught out once or twice.

I would love a zip dressing gown
Candles
Perhaps a primark gift voucher
New underwear
Perfume

Dh and I have agreed that we will book some night out to concerts, comedy shows that we like throughout the year. We have lots of ideas on what/who we'd like to see

Got a zipped dressing gown last year from M&S it is super warm and cuddly, no faffing with belts or coming undone 😀

I really have everything that I want and to be honest, shop a fair bit for myself . DH always buy me a piece of jewellery, and we do stockings so that’s always an effort for him, so I’d like:

a bottle of Dear Polly perfume
Leonidas chocolates
books - all of them
metallic fingerless sheepskin mittens
black clutch bag - would really love the bottega veneta clutch
a painting by a particular artist I love
notebooks
the perfect berry pink lipstick - I do not know what this is!

If you do work out the perfect berry pink lipstick, I would love to know!!

whatausername · 25/10/2022 22:38

Bucket
Cashmere bed socks
Fountain pen ink

2020nymph · 25/10/2022 22:41

Some great ideas here!

DH & the boys have already started Christmas shopping so I know I'm getting nail varnish, lip balms, sweets, a diffuser and some earrings.

On my list is books, notebook, foldaway bag & slipper socks.

We have a lots of stuff which we are slowly sorting out we write each other lists so we know we are giving presents the receiver actually wants and will use.

Agree! I don't need or want anything in particular, if I'm buying it for myself I'll just buy it for myself!

Ooh fountain pen ink - good idea. Any brands you particularly like? I've only ever tried Waterman.

www.cultpens.com/i/q/DM28425/diamine-ink-30ml-bottle I love Diamine ink as their colour range is fab and they are little bottles so you can try lots. My favourite is a purple shimmer one.

Hawkins001 · 25/10/2022 23:03

A time machine.
But 1 million great British pounds.

but being realistic
Warhammer 40k dark elder and chaos space marine models.

Ooops. I blame MN and late night shopping.

treadcarefully · 25/10/2022 23:40

My list this year:
Organza perfume
Little radio for when I'm in the bath
Gibsons jigsaw
Socks
Lindt reindeer

Ineedwinenow · 25/10/2022 23:42

We usually book a holiday to go on in between Xmas and new year as we have everything we want and need but this year I’m having four new teeth due to an accident which is costing a small fortune so that’s his Xmas gift and mine rolled into one 🫣

Clevererthanyou · 25/10/2022 23:46

Gosh I'd love a large bottle of Dove bubble bath, I need to check if they are cruelty free etc first though as haven't bought in a long long time. 2.75 for bloody bubble bath 🙄
I'm desperate for a new expanding folder for my penpal stationery too but they're all plastic now and I hate plastic.

QuietOne80 · 25/10/2022 23:52

Man here. I’d love any one of these:

A Philips Perfect Draft beer machine,
An Apple Watch,
Tickets and travel to a concert I really want to go too.

Those are a dream. I’ll not buy any of them hoping to receive any of them.

Rainallnight · 26/10/2022 00:04

I’ve actually given this quite a lot of thought this year because I’ve reduced spending on luxuries and DP and I have agreed to give each other one nice thing, to a budget (we were splurgers in the Before Times).

So I’m thinking either a pair of hiking boots OR Air Pods.

QuietOne80 · 26/10/2022 00:08

I was looking at Air Pods Pro as well. The 1st generation ones. Meant to be really good.
They’ve dropped in price since the new ones came out.

Trumpetpants · 26/10/2022 00:11

Perfume
PJs
A small Jellycat
Yorkshire Tea Loaf, (Betty's)
Snuggly blanket

sagalooshoe · 26/10/2022 00:14

I want a laugh. a lot of laughing and messing around and occasional hysterics. Just want a bit of bloody fun after the last few years. not bothered about presents at all.

Smileatthesmallthings · 26/10/2022 00:39

Lego Orchid and Lego succulents. Building up my collection of botanicals and these would finish it off.

inappropriateraspberry · 26/10/2022 00:56

Ticket to Glastonbury
Theatre/musical tickets
Taken out for a nice meal

I have all the stuff I want/need, and if there is anything I do want, I'd rather get it myself and know it's right. So often I get clothes not quite the right size, or something g I've already got a version of!
