Ho ho ho and welcome to the bargain Christmas thread - home of the discounts for Christmas shopping.

A bit of competition for the thread title this time - thanks for all the contenders and nominees and @Someaddedsugar for the title. This says a lot about your phones autocorrect I think Grin 🤣

Thanks for the buyagift code. Got go ape for two for £21. Perfect for my two boys. I opted for e voucher so I can print them each a voucher.

HollyPupp · 24/10/2022 21:31

Thanks for the buyagift code.
Ordered 3 different afternoon teas for various people.

Martinisarebetterdirty · 24/10/2022 21:37

@TheGriffle sorry Google NEST! Not play, ffs sorry! It’s a small speaker, about £50 but will come on offer Black Friday I’m sure. Sometimes Spotify offer free ones. Sorry for the confusion 🤦🏻‍♀️

ChristmasCwtch · 24/10/2022 21:45

Thanks @mac1974 Just ordered a purse from Aspinal for MIL. Saved £35 using the code you posted 😊

Clucket87 · 24/10/2022 21:47

Thanks all for the Buyagift code.
Day out for the family for £15! X

mac1974 · 24/10/2022 21:47

Does anyone have a referral code for a remarkable please? From a quick Google that looks like that’s the only way to get a discount, thanks!!

I do, am I too late?

Here. It says “almost a kilo” so if you’re right and it’s only 600g I’ll be unimpressed

It says 'an assortment' on this one. I wonder if they realised ir was wrong.and have changed it? It's still a great deal for £10.

@travellingfamily aw what a shame! I will definitely put a post on next time they have a decent sale.

HollyPupp · 24/10/2022 23:15

the reduced glossy boxes come today.
I was pleased with them for £9.50.
The only niggle was that one thing in there was edible (beauty bites) but it was out of date in July!! I don’t think they should be including out of date food in the boxes!
I only realised after my daughter ate half🙁

powercut101 · 24/10/2022 23:16

Thanks again to the buyagift discount code. Managed to get my footie mad hubby stadium tour for his club. With the code I got it for £9 per ticket and got two so him and a pal can go(had to go through checkout twice). So would have been £43.20 for two people but got them for £19.18 whooop ❤️

HollyPupp · 24/10/2022 23:18

This thing.

@HollyPupp I agree it's annoying and no use for a gift, but it's only a "best before date", not a "use by date" so perfectly safe to eat.

Cuwins · 24/10/2022 23:21

HollyPupp · 24/10/2022 23:18

This thing.

It's a best before date so it's fine but they should put a warning on the box probably. Nothing wrong with them sending though as long as they let people know

Depends who your giving it too. My mum would be absolutely fine with that- I once brought her favourite chocolate as part of her birthday present from the local warehouse shop that sells products past the BBE. She was thrilled as it tasted fine and she hates the idea of food going to waste

Hi all! Just finally get to around to reading all the threads. I'm so late this year - I'm normally smugly sipping mulled wine with everything at least bought by this time. Anyways...I'm after a barginous Switch - or at least some kind of discount! Anyone got any tips?

If you find any @lozabella please let us know. I've looked and nothing at the moment. There is a shortage of the older Switch model (apparently) due to the lack of chips so the offers might be better on the oled model. Problem is that is the more expensive model 😫🙈. All the prices are top price at the moment, hoping for black Friday deals 🤞🤞.

Shiloh139 · 25/10/2022 01:09

@lozabella and @Dancingqueenwannabe

Re cheap Switch, they said this last year about a shortage of Switches and then miraculously they had loads in stock ready for Christmas. I would recommend holding out for Black Friday or the run up to it AND create a free account with HotUKDeals.com and set up a notification alert for the Switch. Check the site every day and when you see a price you're happy with, just buy it. Don't second guess. Also, once you find a good deal, check out Topcashback and Quidco in case you can save a bit extra that way too.

There's a great post on the Hukd site re how to set the console up and download games, create a Nintendo Switch account etc so kids aren't waiting hours for you to do it/games to download when the Switch servers are super busy on Christmas Day, and they can just play it immediately. It's worth trying to find it.

On buyagift, watch out for the small print! I bought Go Ape Treetop Plus vouchers, only to find out afterwards that they are not valid on the one near us (even though it has Treetop Plus, and the vouchers for the other Go Ape courses are valid at that location).

Yalz · 25/10/2022 02:42

The £10 Tuesday offers are now online at Boots.

This eye and face palette which apparently was £35 might be a suitable present for someone.

These and these Clinique mascara, liner and makeup remover sets are £23 each. Normally the mascara on its own costs £23. If you buy two you get an additional £10 of points.

If you spend £50+ you can get 10% off it all using the code SAVE10

Yalz · 25/10/2022 02:55

John Lewis has the same Clinique mascara gift sets at the same price, but instead of £10 of points you get the chance to buy this gift set for £65, which they say has a value of £210, with the code CLINIQUE45. That would be a generous present.

Correction to my post above: this £23 mascara gift set contains 5ml of “Lightweight All About Eyes™ cream-gel” rather than the makeup remover.

6poundshower · 25/10/2022 06:11

There is a fab Caudalie face mask in that £10 Tuesday offer today. I got it in a beauty advent calendar last year.

What is the buyagift code/deal please? I've scrolled back through pages and still not found it!

WhereTheresAHill · 25/10/2022 06:29

@NisekoWhistler no! Would love it please. Thanks!

Thank you so much for this. So glad I haven't panic bought one yet with the worry of shortages!!
Also thank you for the information about setting it up and downloading - I haven't got a clue 🙈🤣.

@HollyPupp I agree it's annoying and no use for a gift, but it's only a "best before date", not a "use by date" so perfectly safe to eat.

I know it won’t make her ill but I personally wouldn’t give my kids food that’s months past the BB date.
I think they should add a warning on the item description… ‘May contain edible products past their BB date’. That way I could of checked & binned it.

The only reason I didn’t take it away before she opened it was because I thought it was a bar of soap😂😂😂
