Yes the Hallmark Channel will be bustin' with all the CCF (Cheesey Christmas Films) of which there will be a gem or two .

This year we're going to see "Violent Night" it's along the lines of "Nobody" and "DeadPool" (two of DH and DS favourite films) not one you'd autmatically think Oh how festive but the trailers looked good .

My favourites are
Lost Christmas (Eddie Izzard film)
Last Christmas (Emma Thompson and Emilia Clarke which got slated but is quite funny)
Angels In The Snow (Kirsty Swanson) bit sad/bit preachy /annoying child . Perfect Christmas fodder

So , films Old&New

Gems and Turkeys Xmas Grin

What's that newish one from a couple of years ago? It has the guy from Schitts Creek in! It's really bugging me!

Is Lost Christmas any good?

Yesterday afternoon I watched my first Christmas film of the season, but I really struggled to be inspired. There are certain films that I don’t want to watch until nearer Christmas and others such as Love Actually that I prefer to watch after Christmas. I watched the Holliday yesterday, but I generally felt uninspired. Switching between different apps didn’t help.

Prime was looking very poor, Netflix was better but I ended up taking out a 2 month subscription to NOW cinema. Hopefully between those I will be covered.

Elaine at Christmastime with Julie Andrews - I absolutely adore this film and always struggle to find it to watch online or to get a region 2 copy on dvd.

Eloise* not Elaine

Christmas Inheritance on Netflix is great. The CEO of a popular gift company sends his wild child daughter to the small town where the company had its origins. CEOs partner is based there and she has to meet him to deliver an item in person but of course it's not that straightforward.

Also love:

Christmas with the Kranks
Home Alone 1 and 2
Santa Clause and it's sequels
Die Hard
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Jingle All The Way
Scrooged

@70isaLimitNotaTarget oooh that is all the encouragement I need. First on list then

hopelessatthinkingupusernames · 20/11/2022 18:35

I don’t think anyone has mentioned Noelle yet - it’s on Disney plus with Anna Kendrick and it’s brilliant!

surreygirl1987 · 20/11/2022 20:14

Jingle all the Way, and Love Actually. It just isn't Christmas without those two.
