Yes the Hallmark Channel will be bustin' with all the CCF (Cheesey Christmas Films) of which there will be a gem or two .

This year we're going to see "Violent Night" it's along the lines of "Nobody" and "DeadPool" (two of DH and DS favourite films) not one you'd autmatically think Oh how festive but the trailers looked good .

My favourites are
Lost Christmas (Eddie Izzard film)
Last Christmas (Emma Thompson and Emilia Clarke which got slated but is quite funny)
Angels In The Snow (Kirsty Swanson) bit sad/bit preachy /annoying child . Perfect Christmas fodder

@goldfinchonthelawn I watched Love Hard as well. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I was pleasantly surprised.

The Hogfather - the most christmassy christmas film that isn’t actually about christmas.

rare exports - finnish horror film about an ancient Father Christmas creature being found imprisoned in ice. Weird and brilliant.

love actually - No excuses. I just love it. I’m never usually a romcom fan, but this one i love.

scrooged - best version of A Christmas carol, but all other versions also acceptable.

red - like die hard, not technically a christmas film but takes place at christmas and is a good antidote when you’re hallmarked out.

It's not Christmas until I've watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

The Family Man with Nicolas Cage and Tea Leoni is a lovely cosy watch. A reverse of It's A Wonderful Life. Wall Street big shot sees what his life would have been like if he'd got married and stayed in the suburbs.

OH MY GOD! I love The Greatest Store in the World and remember watching it years ago in the 90's on BBC one... never been able to find a decent copy again but a movie I've always fondly remembered around Christmas.

Why did I not know Nicolas Cage was in a Christmas film?! Fuck it, I'm not waiting for December. I need to find and watch it now.

I'm a huge fan of the Hallmark/TV Movies. The best old one is The Christmas Box. Just such a sublime film with Maureen O'Hara and Richard Thomas.
