My DH did a year subscription for me for my birthday last year and I loved it. I got 2 books, 2 sachets of hot chocolate and a little pack of biscuits each month. It was a lovely surprise and nice to get books that I wouldn't normally choose.
(This year I asked for similar but suggested that they bought me books from the charity shop to wrap. DD had a great time wrapping & decorating each book and I now have a selection of wrapped books to choose from to keep the surprise going.)

I bought some from amazon last year and really didn't rate them, sent them back for a refund and got some ghds instead. I've had ghds for around twenty years so fancied a change.
Has she tried cloud 9s?

Thank you, she said she used her friend’s and liked them.

mac1974 · 14/10/2022 15:06

@TheGriffle I got mine today too. It's cute and could be wrapped quite nicely but not worth subscribing too

My Superdrug boxes arrived today. They are amazing value. Mums birthday next week so she will be getting one of them!

Thanks for the book club feedback I think I'll go for it

I absolutely love this idea! I'd love a book subscription but they feel expensive considering I mostly get second hand books. I'm going to suggest this to my family for my birthday

Shop Disney medium soft toys £15

FluffyFluffMonster · 14/10/2022 17:26

I went to Aldi today and they had lots of different flavours of the fake baileys for £7.49. Included white chocolate, clementine, hazelnut and espresso martini

ColeslawSandwich · 14/10/2022 17:32

@Yalz that link isn’t working and I can’t find the deals on the website- could you try to link again? Thanks

TheGriffle · 14/10/2022 18:31

Lovely Mario Kart glass for any Mario fans, £4.99 in Smyths, cheapest I can find it anywhere, saw it in store today and it’s really nice. I’m going to get it for my DH.

They also had lovely mug, coaster, notebook gift sets for £12.99, again cheaper than I could find online anywhere else.

Very also has this Dolce Gusto starter kit, machine and pods for £49 down from £119. I’ve also just got this for Dh as he’s decided he likes coffee again.

Blessedbethefruitz · 14/10/2022 18:40

Does anyone have an argos code please? They have a lot of choice on switch games, 2 for £20 :)

Yalz · 14/10/2022 18:45

@ColeslawSandwich , here’s my attempt at the link again.

Let me know if it doesn’t work.

Their website can be very slow to load at times.

Waterlemon · 14/10/2022 18:46

To the poster looking for bubble tea -
have a look on groupon for bubble panda vouchers. I’ve used their vouchers in the past for a discounted first subscription box, (I think it was half price) then cancelled the subscription after the first box.

Yalz · 14/10/2022 18:51

The Penhaligon’s link from my post doesn’t work for me, either.

This is it but not magic linked.

www.penhaligons.com/uk/en/categories/fragrances/shop-all-autumn-sale?xnpe_tifc=x.bphkUNbDH7b.PLhfPLxMpsafeWaeiWhFW.aj4lEfJsnyBWhfQXRMBsV9xcbdScEfAS4uod4Fbjb.bdbDQLxFb7hzTT&utm_source=exponea&utm_campaign=EM-141022-Unboxedlaunch-UK&utm_medium=email

If that still doesn’t work, would you consider sending me a PM with your email address? Then I’ll forward to email directly to you

I did my first order from Very this week to get £20 off a Lego set by opening an account. Was meant to be delivered yesterday, but tracking info says Yodel have it and there’s no updated expected date… is this normal for Very/Yodel, or should I be worrying?

mac1974 · 14/10/2022 19:11

@snugglyblanket just thinking about your book idea, it might be nice to find a book that's themed for the month so a romance for feb, birthday book for the month of their birthday etc.
I'd have to google themes! Might be fun actually. I could get the kids to help me.

Blessedbethefruitz · 14/10/2022 19:18

@2lostsouls yodel is awful, but mine turned up! They needed a signature for the console, the rest came the day before. Very odd. What does the tracking say?

Just a heads up for the OK Beauty box. I had quite a faff to create an account and unsubscribe.

It turns out they had used my PayPal email address, despite me entering my regular email address at checkout.

snowmanshoes · 14/10/2022 19:39

@chocolateisavegetable thank you - will take a look now

GingerFoxInAT0phat · 14/10/2022 19:42

Another heads up for the ok beauty box, don’t slap everything on at once. I got bit giddy and ended up having burns on my skin!

Thank you for this, link worked fine. Did an order over £90 so wonder what the mystery gift will be?

AlternativelyWired · 14/10/2022 20:11

@Waterlemon thank you. I've signed up to panda tea and they've emailed to say they have Christmas sets coming soon. I'll look at groupon though

Haudyourwheesht · 14/10/2022 20:14

Does anyone have experience of either karaoke machines or dance mats for 5-ish? DD is very into dancing and singing and I'm not sure what to get her. I've looked at both but really don't want to spend money on something crappy that she'll not use.

I've done a DIY subscription for a friend before and did exactly this! A horror for October for Halloween, chick lit type easy reading for July for a summer holiday read, Christmas Chronicles for November and then a Christmas themed one for December that was easy to pick up and put down at a busy time of year (short stories would be ideal, though this one wasn't).
