I have an idea. Please tell me if I am being stupid ok?
If I brought dd this for Christmas, as well as a sheet to go on top that she can decorate, some fairy lights and cushions etc. would a four year old like it do you think? With the option to turn it into a play house. TIA xx (and it will have a giant unicorn the size of her inside it thanks to aliexpress!!)

I love it! The tent that @woodwaj is nice too but the structure would last longer, they outgrow those tents very quickly as they’ve got such a small gap to climb in. And you could cover it outside with a waterproof sheet.

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/09/2022 07:10

@Deckthewallswithpaintandplaydough my teens wouldn’t. For 13 year old honestly just go cash, especially if they go out with friends already

Deckthewallswithpaintandplaydough · 17/09/2022 07:14

thank you @Irritatedmum ! Dp and I think that we will go for it as it can easily be taken apart, can become a hangout space when she’s older and a play space now and it fits in with the decor in my house

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/09/2022 07:20

Sorry posted before I rtft and see you are sorted, yy to the tent frame though. Kids love dens

sorryiasked · 17/09/2022 07:30

Just thinking that I’d love a Tudor-obsessed child!! I regularly took mine to Hampton Court Palace and The Tower of London before they started school, but now they refuse to come with me 😂

For a child/teen, a gift card for bubble tea would be popular. Not a bargain, but something fun that I’m planning for stockings or a morning elf present… we just do regular choc advent calendars, but every few mornings in December I leave a small present on the breakfast table.

Xmas Grin
Would your teen girls like this?????
or
This one
can you ask them???
Thanks, deck x

No to the oodie for my DD(15) because it’s pink and to be honest I got her a grey version last year and she hasn’t worn it. Possibly the keyboard but again she’d go for a boring colour instead.

Deckthewallswithpaintandplaydough · 17/09/2022 08:01

Thanks! The girl in question is v v into cute cuddly stuff and she’d practically faint with how cute it is so I’ve got it, but your opinion is most definitely noted xxx Xmas Grin

Landsend have (another!) Sale on - needlepoint stockings down to £18 with code T2CJ

Also have loads of pjs & nighties including kids ones in flannel, plush, fleece from around £8.

Note that the additional reduction with code doesn't show unless you click through to item.

buckeejit · 17/09/2022 08:25

Just to say the landsend needlepoint stockings are gorgeous - they used to have an option to embroider names on them.

I love hanging dc stockings up. I'm considering getting one for our pup!

Cmini · 17/09/2022 08:25

Sorry if this has been mentioned. Only just joined the threads this year. Saltrock have 10% off sale prices with a good range of kids' t-shirts, scarves, gloves for £3-£5.

If you are ordering from hobby craft they do a discount when you sign up to emails. And think they also send you £5 voucher for your bday (if you signed up & your bday just happened to be next week?!? 😉)
They also send me random £5 vouchers from time to time

Deckthewallswithpaintandplaydough · 17/09/2022 08:42

Thank you! Right everyone my birthdays next week Xmas Wink, so I can get myself something for £10 rather than £5….. posca pens

Haveyoubrushedyourteeth · 17/09/2022 08:44

@Deckthewallswithpaintandplaydough I bought that oodie for my 11 year old a couple of weeks ago (didn't realise it was reversible at that point) and she absolutely loves it. Her 3 sisters (in their teens) were most put out that I hadn't got them the same so I'd say you've 100% made the right choice there.

Deckthewallswithpaintandplaydough · 17/09/2022 08:48

Great to hear that @Haveyoubrushedyourteeth !!

I'm looking for a wooden Christmas tree as I lost my thread tree from a few years ago.
I've found this tree but if anyone sees one cheaper...

Ruralretreating · 17/09/2022 09:24

Annoyingly Asda cancelled the Lego and Minecraft snack boxes, which were the only reason I ordered. I thought about cancelling yesterday but still wanted the snack boxes, which were then cancelled this morning.

Wish have them - I bought one last night! Think they're about £3 and around £3 postage

On the lookout for a nice compartmentalised lunch box for adult DD to take to work. Please let me know if you know of any bargains

Autumnleaves4 · 17/09/2022 09:55

Do the look fantastic codes stack, sorry I can’t find the original post about the app discount and 30% sale?

AxolotlEars · 17/09/2022 10:14

mummymilkfloat · 17/09/2022 10:22

Hello!
love this thread as always.
thinking about advent calendars, I have 7 old dd, last year she had the Crayola one (recommended on here!) thinking smiggle this year, I’ve seen there’s offers on buying multiples but guess there’ll be an offer on a single one at some point before December 🤞🏼

I also need one for 4yo ds, he’s seen the hot wheels one somewhere, so will keep my eye on that being on offer but any other recommendations welcome. He isn’t really into Lego yet, he had a paw patrol one last year which was great and the figures have been well loved/played with. He loves vehicles so anything related would be great.

thanks everyone!

Not bargainous in the slightest bit for any ACOTAR fans, snag are doing a collab with Sarah J Maas. May have squealed a little and insisted on a hoodie for my birthday. Definitely not cheap but for a fangirl like me, so amazing as it's hard to get decent merch over here without having to have it custom made

Ahem.

Anyway, I'll be on my way...
