On the look out for an advent calendar for a teen boy a (will be 18) and one for myself! For me, happy to have a cheaper one from a previous year, ideally not over £10 for each one.

My contribution is this half price Lego friends set, £14.50 on Amazon. Cam in a substantial box. Also, B&M had reduced trampolines both online and in store. I did a quick search when I bought one as main gift for my youngest 3, and couldn't spot any cheaper in Argos etc. I paid £80 for the 10ft one (with net).

But I also love how they put themed booked packages together with stickers and even little toys and I am going to do the same in the future for birthday presents (and Christmas ones of course too 😉)

Wierdly, the unicorn one was vac packed - is this normal? Haven’t opened it yet as it’s a gift for an October birthday, but not sure if I should leave it sealed or open and check it!

@EveLe mine came vac pack and it was fine. You could always wrap it in some nice paper and put it in an old box to make it look nice? I always put hard to wrap gifts in a box

can’t remember who said they were gutted the koala is out of stock, but I bought one originally and have now got a tie dye one instead. So I’m happy to sell on for £11.99 plus whatever postage is if that’s any help. Don’t think postage would be cheap as it’s vac packed and heavy.

they seem to get different stock all the time though, so it may come back in yet.

Personal I think the vac pack makes it look cheap so I would take it out and keep the leaflet it came with to add to gift

has anyone bought a kids hooded blanket from 5poundstuff? I was wondering what the size is like. I’ve got a quite tall 8 year old and wondered whether it would be worth it, or just getting an adult size one.

@EveLe did you get the light or dark blue one please? I am temped by the dark but worried it might be too dark and a bit miserable in winter, also that I will moult around the place!

I agree with PP thst vacuum packed items look less appealing.

The original Kud.lys come vac packed so they are likely returns that weren’t opened before returning. The navy is a very dark one - doesn’t shed though.

I've just had the 5-7 hoodie delivered from 5poundstuff and I think it looks like it'll fit my quite small 5 year old for a couple of year. For a tall 8 year old I'd consider getting an adult size, it's supposed to be oversized anyway. I have one and because of the cuffed sleeves they don't bother me even though they are much longer than my arms.

I'd definitely open it because mine came vac packed and had a funny smell when I took it out- a bit like when a new mattress offgasses. It was absolutely fine after a wash.

@FluffyFluffMonster Thats a good idea, I never think to do stuff like that! I'm always struggling with odd shaped stuff. I'll have to save some amazon boxes, think they'll be the perfect size.

@Scout2016 I bought the navy, but personally I love the colour - its a very rich, deep navy colour. The fabric looks and feels lovely.
