Is anyone having problems with getting a refund from a boots cancelled order? I ordered the toys that were on this thread, paid by PayPal and it was cancelled but haven’t got a refund on my PayPal account?

I had similar (ish) with Go Outdoors. I raised it through PayPal and they did the rest for me. That was the first time I'd needed to do that and was impressed. I guess that's what all the fees pays for!

I think the hardest part for me is moving off the thread when done for FOMO. I know I did it alot last year and then ended up with extra stuff, some of which I had to use myself (like toiletries) and some was used for birthdays through the year, but my god my wardrobe was heaving all year round with boxes which was actually quite unhelpful 😂 I'm almost done now which is perfect as DD is due in a few weeks, so please boot me off of here if I'm still loitering in a few months time 🙏🤣

Same 😆 I've never been so fragrant and moisturised as I was in January last year, having massively overdone it on presents. I'm still burning the Christmas candles now, it's very festive-smelling here despite being July. We can boot each other off 😁

These threads are amazing. I still spend far less than I did before discovering them, despite the five spare Wax Lyrical candles in my wardrobe. Thanks so much to all who contribute.

If anyone knows of some bargain bamboo socks I'd be grateful, I got hooked after the sockshop bargain a couple of years ago and now resent paying full price 😂

Dunnes stores have some not reduced though but already cheap. You can switch it over to the UK store if it isn't on it already.

Thank you! I’ll try that now 😊

Suggestions please, for gift ideas for someone in the early stages of running. Nothing too expensive in case the hobby gets dropped next year! They run 5-10k, outdoors, off-road. What about running gloves, socks? Maybe an inexpensive top (I mean not a £30+ branded one)?

I just ordered my daughter some running gear from www.tikiboo.co.uk/, we love their stuff, its really good quality and lasts ages. I got my daughter a hoodie and a pair of capris from the sale and it came to just over £20. There is an extra 25% of all sale applied at the checkout.

Starlight86 · 27/07/2022 16:10

How about a FlipBelt or equivalent brand? I've found it useful on every run, holds my phone, house key and a small bottle of water.
I did have an arm holder for my phone but found it frustrating falling down whilst running. The belt is worn round the waist so doesn't budge.

You can't go wrong with socks. You can get really decent ones from runderwear for less than a tenner

Brogues · 27/07/2022 18:44

I like the whole range of those Bookaroo things. This is why I love this thread. Finding out new gifts that I wouldn’t have seen otherwise. Bonus when they are reduced in price too!

EverydayIsPJday · 27/07/2022 19:12

Thanks for the sock recommendations but I just stumbled on these bamboo socks down to £1.50 at sea salt. Loads available including men's.

Isonthecase · 27/07/2022 19:27

@EverydayIsPJday they usually have good prices on happy socks in tk maxx. Not sure if they're bamboo but I've been pleased with mine.

I also need to be really strict with myself about keeping off these threads once I've got gifts for everyone. I'm pretty good at not just grabbing things because they're bargains and have an idea of who I'll give them to before I buy but I need to step away once I'm finished otherwise it's too tempting to overspend.

I am guilty however of buying some extra things for myself. I did it with the Yardley perfume and also the Yankee candles. I buy perfume and candles regularly anyway so it's not a terrible situation....but it's still spending when I otherwise wouldn't have and with everyone feeling the pinch more this year it's worth being mindful about purchases.

If anyone can find me a link for cheap elie Saab perfume or dr martens that would be amazing

Yalz · 27/07/2022 21:10

Thank you for reminding me about the £1:50 Seasalt socks, @EverydayIsPJday I collected my order today, and hadn’t realised they were mostly bamboo! Also, the prices on some of the pretty flowery ones have come down to £1:50 since I ordered.

If you are lucky enough to have a Seasalt shop nearby, Click and Collect is free on any size order. Otherwise it’s only free over £50, but they do offer free returns.

Some of the jewellery is marked as Sale, but isn’t showing a higher price and I think it used to be on a 3 for 2 offer. I hope it’s in the process of being reduced but that might just be wishful thinking.
