Thought it might be useful for ideas for gifts for those of us who like to get organised early!

Mine were:
Partners in wine cup -it's marketed as an insulatedwine cooler cup but also acts as a thermos for hot drinks. My nieces loved them and used them for mulled wine on our Christmas night walk and coffee for our boxing day hike.

Nail wraps from Lily and Fox - bought these for a few friends and relatives and they all loved them.

Fur-lined crocs for DH - he hasn't taken them off since he unwrapped them (They do them in toddler and kid sizes too!)

Anyone else had surprise wins?

I got some beautiful padded wireless rose-gold headphones so I can watch dramas on my iPad while DH watches horror films on the TV Grin
I also received a new wiper set for my car - had been meaning to get some for a while but the enormous box under the tree saved me a trip to Halfords, and DH fitted them for me too. Sounds boring, but it was actually really thoughtful and appreciated.
Bought DS1 a multi-plate sandwich toaster/waffle maker/grill press and he loves it.

I brought dd a unicorn electric safe, £12.99 from smyths and she absolutely loves it, I basically brought it as a bit extra to bump up to the budget.

pastypirate · 29/12/2021 22:36

Boiled sweets from a market stall in glass jars I got in home bargains. Dds thrilled!

crankysaurus · 29/12/2021 22:38

Bobble hats, very much a surprise win but all of a sudden popular in our household.

TheBitterBoy · 29/12/2021 22:41

USB rechargeable handwarmer for FIL, he's a keen golfer and was delighted, especially as he can also use it as a battery pack to charge his phone.

Fuckitydoodah · 29/12/2021 22:42

My 2 ds aged 9 and 6 haven't taken off the fleecy dressing gowns I put in their stockings. They absolutely love them.

SecretRedhead · 29/12/2021 22:49

Bought my sister a doorbell camera with intercom, motion sensor and recording capability, and a 256gb memory card for it. She loves it, has text me 4 times about how perfect it is. A doorbell.

SecretRedhead · 29/12/2021 22:50

apparently it records the rain, and this is a good thing Hmm

MakeTeaNotWar · 29/12/2021 22:56

@TheBitterBoy this sounds great! Do you have a link please?

Bagel, pretzel and brioche baking kits for ds(13). Hrs got really into baking from them, branching out into proper recipes.0

CoodleMoodle · 29/12/2021 22:59

I got the DC some wooden play food - biscuits in a barrel and doughnuts in a box. They're 7 and 3 and both adored them, spent ages playing with them on Christmas Day. We've got loads of play food but these were a real hit, even for the 7yo (who likes having her 3yo brother as an excuse for playing with "younger" toys). Good old Aldi!

blissfulllife · 29/12/2021 22:59

I absolutely loveeee my electric wax burner. My dc had weighted blankets which they are loving. Light up bath bombs were a stocking filler hit

PenguinLove1 · 29/12/2021 23:13

A giant hoodie from Amazon for my son, nearly 15 and has spent all week wafting about the house in a big fleecey dress 😂 he loves it!

BirdyBee · 29/12/2021 23:18

A hand made JJ doll and a knitted fish (flounder from little mermaid) my 19 month old and 3 year old have played with them non stop!

CovoidOfAllHumanity · 29/12/2021 23:19

Bamboo socks- my dad got some for everyone and they are so soft and lovely

Second the fur lined crocs too. I got DH some for popping out in the garden with the dog or to his garden office and they are so convenient and comfy that we are fighting over them and now I want some too.

TheBitterBoy · 29/12/2021 23:24

@MakeTeaNotWar There are loads on Amazon, this is a link to a similar one here

Sherrytriflestrull · 29/12/2021 23:24

B and m joke set. It was £2.99 and surprisingly good. Dc5 loves it!

Snozzlemaid · 30/12/2021 00:20

Dd (20) loved the Bluetooth eye mask we got her.
She suffers with anxiety so to help her relax she listens to podcasts when going to sleep and she wears an eye mask.
She was forever losing an AirPod in her bed somewhere as they would fall out during the night.
The eye mask is so soft and comfortable and perfect for her, she can't stop raving about it.

forcedfun · 30/12/2021 00:24

LED beanies for the preteens /teens. They were more a vaguely useful stocking filler so I didn't expect them to be met with such excitement!

Stick on nails for the 8 year old. She alternate between muddy and feral and Extreme glamour so these were a big hit.

Also - mug cakes in a box were the teen's favourite off all her presents I think Grin

Latenightreader · 30/12/2021 00:27

My Dad bought my 3YO a lamp with a couple of fake jellyfish 'swimming' in it and she dismissed me regally at bedtime so she could watch it. It is hypnotic!

Iwantcollarbones · 30/12/2021 00:46

I brought my dn a magicians costume. My dsis has sat through 50 magic shows a day since.

Dh got an electric lighter which he is loving. The urge to put your finger in the arc was too strong for several drunken family members though.

freeingNora · 30/12/2021 01:05

Silk eye masks for the children they love eye masks and they sleep easier with them on who knew

freeingNora · 30/12/2021 01:05

They weren't too expensive either tk max

anibendod · 30/12/2021 08:08

I requested the beat that game from Santa after seeing it recommended on here. We laughed until we cried playing it all christmas day afternoon, my MIL has stopped talking about it since

Mind the gap cards, best present ever.
