I got some lovely bits to put away at M and S today...some nuxe crackers down to £6 for teacher gifts, and some nice reed diffusers and candles. In store purchases

RainbowPhilosophy · 27/12/2021 13:41

I went rl shopping just now, ostensibly to get bread and milk etc but in Sainsburys got a pack of 10 Habitat Christmas cards for 75p, some extra wide wrapping paper for 75p a roll and some pigs in blankets for tonight's tea for 75p 😆

Whilst out I also got gift bows for 50p a pack, plain gold wrapping paper for 80p, and some bits and pieces from Superdrug including chocolate coins dated September 2023 for 25p a bag which were also on multibuy when I got to the till, bath fizzer £1, rainbow bath salts £2, a Nivea and a L'Oréal men's gift set £4 each, set of 3 candles £4.

My local Boots was closed despite the website saying it was open, so possibly due to staff shortages from isolating.

Thanks @InDreamland

Ooo thank you for the Lisa Angel tip. Got two engraved glasses for my parents

Just got my mum and dad the Lisa Angel glasses fit next Christmas so thank you for that!

Thesearmsofmine · 27/12/2021 14:15

I popped to Asda today. Loads of chocolate reduced down really cheaply, Terry’s White Orange bars for 30p etc, a lot had BB dates in 2023. I grabbed a few bits for the baking cupboard but nothing much as the dc got given a ridiculous amount of chocolate this year. Also grabbed a few festive childrens craft kits for 50p to put away for next year.

I was hoping Lush would do an online sale as I want to order a few full price bits and was going to add some reduced bath bombs but nothing online.

greenweepingwillow · 27/12/2021 14:16

thanks for all the tips so far.
Ive got covid, so lying in bed ordering all the bargains!
So far I've got a fair few stocking fillers from rex london, some nice jewelry bits for birthdays and next christmas from Lisa Angel, christmas pjs form debenhams.
now off to track down paper and crackers online. Grin

Oneborneverydecade · 27/12/2021 15:10

I also popped into town, my biggest bargain was a Neom gift set in Between the Lines reduced from £60 to £30. It's not Christmassy so I shall put it away for MIL's birthday in May.
Got some half price Lynx in Boots and a couple of girls bits in Next. Not much in Next girls section

Glentheredbeakbattleostrich · 27/12/2021 15:13

Thanks for the rex reminder. That's DDs stockings started!

I got a couple of tops and a dress on fat Face and DD got some bargainous sets in Superdrug.

ConsuelaHammock · 27/12/2021 15:36

Clare Macintosh’s latest book Hostage is 99p on Kindle atm.

Waveafterwaveslowlydrifting · 27/12/2021 15:40

Get well soon @greenweeoingwillow

Psyching myself up to go to sports direct in the next couple of days to buy trainers and school shoes for DCs. Hopefully will find some bargains and also use the 2 £50 gift cards I bought for £40 each.

YetAnotherUserNameForMe · 27/12/2021 15:41

I got a lovely 1000 piece gin jigsaw in Morrissons, has the jigsaw plus 4 recipe cards. Was £10, listed at £5 but went through at £3! I'm putting together a small hamper for my gin addicted sister with everything listed on the cards Smile

Lovemusic33 · 27/12/2021 15:55

So far I haven’t spent much in the sales, can’t find anything I actually need. I did order a tracksuit for dd from hype (they have up to 70% off).

I have Dd1’s 18th in a few weeks and could do with finding her something amazing.

greenweepingwillow · 27/12/2021 16:56

It won't let me check out my basket at WHSmiths - anyone else had this issue?

dizzygirl1 · 27/12/2021 16:56

I popped to the local (smallish) sainsburys and there was nothing left, a staff member was sweeping all the soft toys off the shelf and into a trolley!
Popped to m and s food... not a lot there but managed to get some wrapping paper I liked. There were some half price meat joints but I didn't get any as DD is veggie and DS is a little picky!

WouldIBeATwat · 27/12/2021 17:41

@Waterfallgirl

Anyone seen a good air fryer on offer - DS 18 has decided he’d like one ( he’s buying)
Got a small Tefal one in H+M before Xmas half price at £25.
MerylSqueak · 27/12/2021 18:07

My son has just totalled his almost brand new gaming monitor. If anyone sees a bargain, could you please post? Best yet is second hand at CEX for £60

Minionbums · 27/12/2021 18:53

Went into Claire’s earlier and all the christmas stuff is £1.50-£2.50 - all the headbands/clips/skirts etc, also Christmassy Ty teddies. My local store is tiny but still had a good selection, might be even better in a bigger store. All put away for next year. Got my crackers for next year in a local garden centre 50% off.

Moonshine5 · 27/12/2021 18:57

Rocketdog sale is decent 40-50% (footwear)

guineapigs · 27/12/2021 19:07

I went to sainsburies and there was no paper or crackers. Some meat reduced but not beef unfortunately.

I am looking for something for dh's birthday but I don't have any clue. All the ideas were used in Xmas. There are new Lego sets but it's unlikely they will be reduced by February.

Marypoppinsisnosaint · 27/12/2021 19:35

Thanks so much you lovely lot. I've officially started 2022 Christmas shopping 🤣

Just got a few bits in the Lisa Angel sale. That's my best friend and sil sorted for birthdays and one for mum for mother's Day.

I've been at work today and the little Lego sets were reduced so got 4 plus a hair care gift set and wrapping all for about £15 that did include a colleague discount of 20% though. It's worth checking out your local convenience shops too. That's my little ones started.

fuzzywuzzywombat · 27/12/2021 20:42

Hairdryer decided to sound like a scrap man's cart today.
Long flyaway hair that I don't 'blowdry' as such. Just do it until it's dry , no styling
Anything out there? I'm also skint so under 50 would be best
Thanks x

woodwaj · 27/12/2021 20:50
