DH is the favourite parent, I'm always the reserve but hell no am I running the risk of being the one who properly breaks his heart

No, but I'm 29 and looking forward to pretending to be asleep when my almost blind DM creeps in with mine.

This is why I hang command hooks on the kids door.

We are moving house next year and will have a fireplace in the new house. There is going to be a rule that they go there from next year. It is tooooo much.

My DH went in and made a human barrier infront of DS sleeping and I crept in behind, dropped it and ran.

Had to do something with the bloody elf too as I was informed by DS that elf still does something on Xmas Eve arghhh

We always hung the stocking on the door handle outside his room, because "Father Christmas didn't want to wake you" worked well. Now he's 21, and has slept with his bedroom door open since he was old enough to do it himself without asking, we had to be extra quiet when hanging it. I don't hang it at midnight any more though, I just check on him when he's asleep and hang it then

It's not the stockings worrying be here but the actual presents! Our house is tiny so all the wrapped presents went up in the loft and the hatch is right outside dd4's bedroom. I've even abstained from my usual Xmas eve baileys to make sure we're as quiet as possible but I am dreading it! Currently hiding in the bathroom

This is hands down the most stressful bit about christmas!!

My eldest is still awake. Youngest is probably asleep now. No stockings in rooms anymore as found eldest at 3am one year opening all her presents. They’re outside their bedrooms now.
I can’t be fucked to wake at 3am when I’m doing all the cooking.

The stockings are on the fireplace, before and after. No way would I go into their rooms, they wake if a spider farts.

Literally nearly / maybe did get caught by DS. He woke up as I was hanging it up! I think, think i got away with it because he said something about he heard presents being wrapped & then the stocking was gone and now it's back. Fuck knows. But agree next year they are going on the door or by the fire place

Stockings are left on kitchen table to open before breakfast, (because I buy things that are too bloody big to fit in it) but I still have to be a stealth ninja bringing everything down as Dd sleeps with her bedroom door open! Merry Christmas all!

yup. DS8 has hung his stocking on his bloody bed! argh! And I've got to do stuff with the elves. DH wants to go to bed, no fing way is he chickening out of this!
Its usually me does the stocking as DH is as quiet and stealthy as a drunk farting elephant. With heels on.

Same here, they’re all camped in one room. And the doors closed and very noisy so I risk waking them just checking they’re asleep

I've left ours outside the bedroom door this year...They sounded were rustling so loudly this year! DH walks like an elephant and eldest DD has become very good at fake sleeping! I just couldn't cope!

In-laws are here and drinking downstairs with H. Not happy, they seem to have forgotten that this but is all about the kids. I’m waiting for them to get to bed so I can put the stockings down. If I do it before the changes are the DC will be woken by in-laws coming up to bed as they like to talk in very load voices and narrate everything they do to each other by shouting across the landing.
