What do you have for Christmas breakfast?

A little stuck on ideas. We normally have a light breakfast, because of the meal coming.
This year we are eating our main meal on Christmas Eve, so would really rather have a larger breakfast.
We aren't fans of smoked salmon though do like fish.

I suppose that breakfast could be our big meal of the day, as we are having sandwiches / cheese board / mince pies etc in the afternoon.

Kedgeree?
You could do a big brunch with bacon and egg sandwiches, fruit salad and yoghurt, danish pastries

Fivemoreminutes1 · 20/12/2021 10:25

Scrambled egg croissant www.ramonascuisine.com/morning-croissant-and-scrambled-eggs-treat/ You could add bacon or Parma ham to make them even more luxurious

HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime · 20/12/2021 10:27

We have bacon or sausage rolls in those part-baked baguettes. Substantial enough to fill us until dinner which is normally at 3pm.

MirrorMirrorApplePie · 20/12/2021 10:29

Tuna pate, mackerel pate, loads of butter, crusty bread and small bacon sarnies… and champagne!

Last two years - bacon roll if the staff canteen is open by then and a pint of water.

Santahatesbraisedcabbage · 20/12/2021 10:47

We have a cooked breakfast at about 8 then coffee and crepes at 11. Lunch about 2. 30.

We have a selection of pastries, bacon baguettes, chocolate milk and bucks fizz. We snack on our selection boxes and nibbles throughout the day and then the main Christmas Dinner meal is around 3pm!

Do you celebrate Christmas on another day to make up for working or just let it pass?
mumto2teenagers · 20/12/2021 10:54

I do a fruit platter, pastries and small bacon rolls. We also have bucks fizz with breakfast.

Tenam · 20/12/2021 10:55

We have anything from normal breakfast to boiled eggs to pastries depending on the mood of the day

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 20/12/2021 11:03

Traditionally we always had smoked salmon and scrambled egg on toast - you could have bacon instead of salmon though

Or any kind of cooker breakfast!

The other year we had croissants which was so much easier!

AnnPerkins · 20/12/2021 11:08

I impulse-bought a panettone last week because I liked the tin. I'm planning now on serving panettone French toast with bacon and maple syrup.

TheAnswerIsDontThinkAboutIt · 20/12/2021 11:28

We always have a fry-up, not sure when or why that tradition started.

ncski · 20/12/2021 11:36

Champagne

CrumpleHornedSnowcack · 20/12/2021 11:39

smoked salmon & scrambled egg along with bucks fizz

If you work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day then you usually get Boxing day off atho that depends on staffing levels at the moment otherwise I get in at about 8 pm. It's not just a job and my family understand that. I get a big hug for all of them when I get in, even my 14 yr old son. That's enough for me.

TheCrow · 20/12/2021 17:58

Last year we had the frozen bake-at-home pain au Chocolat, this year I got Aldi's chocolate tear and share brioche Christmas tree which I'll pop in the oven for a few minutes to warm through

StColumbofNavron · 20/12/2021 18:02

We have a med/Middle Eastern breakfast. Garlic sausage and fried egg, tomatoes, cucumber, feta cheese pastries, more erm feta and sometimes halloumi too, jam, honey, nice fresh (well day before) crusty bread.

Theforest · 20/12/2021 18:04

Pain au chocolate straight from the oven with bubbly!

boto · 20/12/2021 18:05

Hot mince pies, hot sausage rolls and warm croissants passed around as presents opened Xmas Smile

TheLesserOfTwoWeevils · 20/12/2021 18:08

We normally have eggs Benedict (with hollandaise out of a jar because I've never made it before and don't fancy trying for the first time on Christmas morning when I have lots of other things I'd rather be doing!)

Helpstopthepain · 20/12/2021 18:08

Panettone, croissants and various pastries with fruit.

If I’m working it’s a nut bar.

SpanielsAreMyLife · 20/12/2021 18:08

Champagne/Bucks Fizz; oven baked frozen croissants and danish pastries; chocolates; fresh fruit platter. It's my favourite part of the day.

Anaximedes · 21/12/2021 07:08

Hot smoked salmon, scrambled egg.

Or bacon butties.

Buck's Fizz

But we eat our dinner at 4pm or later.
