@blobby10

My 21 year old DD has requested perfume. Just that. Perfume. No specific brand/make/scent. Doesn't like anything already. My choices are Givenchy's Amarige and Ange et Demon but they are too much for a young lady.

I did get a suggestion from her friend of D & G light blue but wondered if anyone has any other suggestions?

As WreathSupreme said I love good girl by Carolina Herrera.

I also like Black Opium, Channel Chance and Lancôme La Vie est Belle.

Perfect or Flowerbomb by Marc Jacobs are also quite nice.

BitterPeach · 16/12/2021 15:48

Probably some repeats in here from other posters but between the various women in their 20s in my family they've asked for:

  • Books (My good reads this year have included Everything I Know About Love, Daisy Jones & the Six, Normal People, Promising Young Women). Or Audible vouchers.
  • Jigsaws
  • Fancy Candles
  • Beauty Vouchers or Box (i.e Cult Beauty, Nars, Fenty etc)
  • Perfume
  • Airpods or any other wireless headphones
  • PJs
  • Olivia Burton Watch
  • Fiorelli backpack
  • A nice make up bag
  • Hot Chocolate Sets (maybe from Whittards or Hotel Chocolat)

As another user said Oliver Bonas have so many lovely things as well. I'd be happy with anything from there!

I’m in my 20s and recently received a cashmere scarf for my birthday and loved it.

Would also love to receive glossier products, candles, nice pjs, bedding, fancy shampoo (olaplex set or kerastase)

Misshape · 16/12/2021 16:03

My DS gf is 20 and I’ve put together a few little presents for her.
Her main gift is Ariana Grande Cloud perfume set as that’s the perfume she wears
I’ve also got her a Greene and Blacks selection, a couple of different sets of nice wax melts, a pack of proper beauty blenders and a nice hairbrush. I’ll also be getting her some more sweets and stuff

I was recently gifted Gucci Bamboo. Not my usual kind of scent but it's inoffensive enough that I'll wear it as a day to day perfume (it's very light floral but not sweet at all). Molecule 01 is also stunning (the only way I can describe it is like smelling like really clean fresh air) but it's spendy.
WreathSupreme · 16/12/2021 16:29

@blobby10 sorry Light Blue smells like a cleaning product to me. My sister used to wear it. Everyone smells perfume differently though.

blobby10 · 16/12/2021 16:38

WreathSupreme I had to chuckle at your description! My exH bought me some Dior (I think) - the one with Charlize Theron on the add cos he fancied her (I am nothing like CT!) but it smelt like loo cleaner to me Grin
DennisSkinnersMolotov I like the sounds of Molecule01 as DD loves the fresh air. Will add it to my "To Smell" list Grin
BitterPeach They are also on my list! I like the sound of Black Opium as I used to love 'Opium' when I was in my 20s. Will be interesting to see if its similar!

Lacedwithgrace · 16/12/2021 17:02

Lush products are perfect! And such a great brand to support.

I've bought 22yo niece a wax melter and a box full of wax melts from etsy, a mug from anthropologie and a couple of cushions from home sense for her new flat.
My 19yo cousin is getting some bluetooth earphones (not airpods, waste of money), some candles from home sense and some reusable makeup remover pads.

RussianSpy101 · 16/12/2021 17:12

Ugg slippers
Silk pjs
Nice Chocolate
Jewellery
Perfume

Why do you think lush is a good company to support?
jendifer · 16/12/2021 17:30

Do you have an Oliver Bonas near you? I love their home stuff.

rubyglitter · 16/12/2021 18:19

Makeup and books - if you know what they like!

thetwofridas · 16/12/2021 18:41

Another woman in her twenties here suggesting Glossier! If you know their taste in books then that's also a good shout (my bf's parents got me a couple of lovely books last year which were very appreciated). Other ideas:

  • sustainable/ethically made products (e.g reusable makeup wipes, beeswax food wrap, etc.)
  • recipe books - some places do their own cookbooks if either of them have a favourite restaurant?
MrsLargeEmbodied · 16/12/2021 21:48

fantastic lot of suggestions, thanks so much

Don't get Lush unless she wants a side of thrush.

Second Glossier products - their lash slick mascara is immense. You can't go wrong with a balm dot com (or set!) either.

“Lacedwithgrace Lush products are perfect! And such a great brand to support.”

A great brand if you hate women.

Oh leave off. They are a really ethical brand in many ways especially in regards to supply chains. Perhaps think about intersectional feminism. Just because they don't fit in with your white woman feminist agenda 🤷‍♀️ ps I consider myself a feminist
hiraethh · 21/12/2021 19:58

I’m 25 and I’ve asked for:

Dr Marten’s platform shoes
Dior lip oil
REN bath oil
Garnier sheet masks

Other suggestions:

An Oodie! I practically live in mine Grin
Olaplex haircare gift set
Some skincare bits from Glossier

I hope this helps!
