Wait, what, what’s this about Lush being misogynistic and making female staff accept kisses from randoms? WTF?!

user14943608381 · 16/12/2021 11:00

Agree on the no lush… aside from sexist treatment of staff the skin care is pretty crap too.

I’d say a nice beauty box or something like that, cult beauty or beauty bay might have a few xx

gaslady14 · 16/12/2021 11:08

I do like the odd lush bathbomb. Also candles, voucher for a massage /manicure, favourite chocolates, house plant, chilly bottle, reusable coffee cup, beeswax foodwraps for packed lunches/picnics,

Small little things I've really appreciated of the last few years: candles, small box of fairy lights, a nice nail clippers manicure set box, little gin sets with different flavours to try, small chilly bottle for work, little lunch bag, a thing to clamp over the toothpaste so I get the very last bit out!

blobby10 · 16/12/2021 11:18

My 21 year old DD has requested perfume. Just that. Perfume. No specific brand/make/scent. Doesn't like anything already. My choices are Givenchy's Amarige and Ange et Demon but they are too much for a young lady.

I did get a suggestion from her friend of D & G light blue but wondered if anyone has any other suggestions?

I’m 26 and these are things I’ve asked for or would appreciate:
Jewellery - I’ve asked for some beautiful earrings from Monica Vinader
Stackers jewellery box
Weighted blanket
Headphones
Oodie
New purse
Glass nail file
Fluffy/luxury towels
Books
Skincare

GoingBackTo505 · 16/12/2021 11:22

Depends on your budget but if you're feeling spendy, maybe a hotel chocolat velvetiser.
Have a look at Anthropologie and Oliver Bonas for gorgeous gifty bits too.

blobby10 · 16/12/2021 11:45

TuftyMarmoset I tried to get her an Oodie but they are all out of stock except for Looney Tunes ones and she's too young to appreciate Tweetie PIe and Sylvester Grin.

ColdTattyWaitingForSummer · 16/12/2021 11:52

For 18/19 year olds I have hot chocolate bombes and just eat vouchers.

Sorry wrong thread!

WreathSupreme · 16/12/2021 12:20

I’m in my 20s. I’d be happy to receive:
Perfume
Chocolate
Books
Jigsaws
Headphones
Cruelty free make up

Things I wouldn’t want:
Cashmere wrist warmers
Statement necklaces
Lush “smellies”
Candles.

What does you daughter like though? Hobbies? What gifts has she liked in the past? Women in their 20s aren’t a homogeneous group that want the same things.

amatsip · 16/12/2021 12:21

Hotel chocolat velvet user and lots of lovely powders to go with it! And an oodie (fake just as good)

amatsip · 16/12/2021 12:21

*velvetiser

L’interdit Rouge by Givenchy - woody scent Very Good Girl by Carolina Herrera - fruity floral scent The One by D & G - oriental floral Alien by Mugler - woody Angel by Mugler - I saw a review that said this fragrance is akin to a pineapple in a compost bin. It is an acquired taste but a lot of young people do like it. Daisy by Marc Jacobs - floral Coco Mademoiselle - oriental Gucci Guilty - oriental

If you’re on a budget check out the perfumes in Zara or The Body Shop.

Twinsandsome · 16/12/2021 12:46

@blobby10 I have sisters that age who like Chloe lovestory, daisy and one slightly older wears Armani Si xx

Twinsandsome · 16/12/2021 12:48

Agree with PP sisters also love Coco Mademoiselle @blobby10

LizziesTwin · 16/12/2021 13:09

Dd loves products from Rituals.

blobby10 · 16/12/2021 13:23

Thank you so much WreathSupreme & Twinsandsome . I can head to a perfume counter and get sniffing asap now I have some idea what to look for. Have either of you heard of the D & G Light Blue? It was her friend who suggested it - that's the only reason I'm asking

WaterBottle123 · 16/12/2021 13:26

I wouldn't have wanted any of these things at 24, surely young women are more than beauty products, candies and socks?

Neom diffuser.
Vacier minimalistic jewellery.
Fenty/Glossier/Olaplex/Beauty pie.

blobby10 · 16/12/2021 14:05

WaterBottle123 my daughter will also open welly boots and other stuff she needs for work/study but she did ask for a nice perfume too Grin

Hiybbiiytc · 16/12/2021 14:25

What interests/hobbies do they both have? I'd go for that vs the generic type stuff you get from aunty sue who you never see and knows nothing about you.

TuftyMarmoset · 16/12/2021 14:57

More ideas from what I have got for my sister and SIL who are both a couple of years younger than me (22/23):
Travel jewellery roll
Makeup brushes
Body shop toiletry set
Calendar with cute animals
Christmas Percy pigs
Pin badge from Etsy relating to a particular interest
Novelty socks
A specific foreign food she loves which I tracked down online

Also things I have got for DP which are generally suitable:
Board game
Bluetooth item finder eg Tile or air tags
Banana box, which he accidentally found in my wardrobe and is quite excited about!

Re perfume I used to wear Coco Mademoiselle which is nice for young women but once I went vegan I switched to cruelty free so currently I’m wearing Molton Brown jasmine & sun rose.

@WaterBottle123 depends on the work/study I think. I can’t think of anything related to that that I, Dsis or SIL would want. Other than something generic like a travel mug but everyone my age has about 6 of them.

Fair point but they’re pretty standard “generic female gift” - presume if OP knew their specific likes, wants and needs then she wouldn’t be asking on here.
