Thanks @OyTheBumbler for the title. Now, does the Amarillo bulb grow the place or the song?! Grin

I’ve finally Blush updated the referral thread link in the post.

Wonder if this thread will get us to Christmas now we’re getting closer to being done.

Just wanted to say a huge HAPPY CHRISTMAS to everyone on here. Thank you for posting all your links and sharing codes etc; it’s made Christmas so much easier for so many people and I know I’ll be thinking of you all on Christmas Day.

Sorry, I have another last minute request (as well as any recommendations for wine delivery) … a good beginners watercolour set? Something that has clear tutorials on what to do, as well as the materials to do it.

It’s for an 85 year old, so nothing involving YouTube Xmas Grin

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 20/12/2021 17:08

Choc on Choc are offering 40% off some Christmas chocolates

@MydeamonsanOstrich I've PM'd you about a delivery

@trueblue2 I sincerely hope there will be no more Barlow offers on my Sparks card Xmas Confused

HotelCaliforniaOnRepeat · 20/12/2021 17:33

@TwinkleTwinkleLittleStarFightr N.D.John wine merchants. Excellent customer service and I'm sure would oblige with a note.

CommanderBurnham · 20/12/2021 18:02

@thaegumathteth thank you. Found some at the local petrol station! It was a Shell.

VividImaginationAgain · 20/12/2021 19:05

I need to step away from this thread. I have finished. My budget is well and truly finished. I’ve just bought an Amazon tile for ds1. He will most likely lose it! I’m now perusing Vera Tucci again I’ve got everything I need but I can’t stop!!

Someaddedsugar · 20/12/2021 19:15

@PastelGiraffe have you tried QVC?

sherbertdibdab · 20/12/2021 19:42

@RJnomore1 Have you tried bookshop.org? They represent lots of independent bookshops, might be worth a shot.

MrsMigginsEggNogShoppe · 20/12/2021 20:10

Does anyone have an Argos code they don't need? My microwave has just gone bang right in time for Christmas and anything to soften the blow would be amazing!

daisyboo1 · 20/12/2021 20:24

@MrsMigginsEggNogShoppe
Have sent you a PM.

PoirotAndHisMoustache · 20/12/2021 20:29

I have £10 off £100 spent at argos too if anyone needs one

The Dana Fox books are beautiful & step by step. You would just need to add a set of paints & brushes (you paint in the book)
MrsMigginsEggNogShoppe · 20/12/2021 20:33

Thank you @daisyboo1

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl I've just replied. Thank you.

Haveyoubrushedyourteeth · 20/12/2021 22:10

Sorry this is stupidly last minute but has anyone got any ideas for cracker fillers please?
I've finally managed to get hold of some reusable ones, after looking for a couple of years, and now I realise I have absolutely no idea what to put in them! I'll do chocolate at a push, but you're all so helpful I'm sure there's something far better...quite what escapes me though. It's for 4 x grandparents in their 70's, 3 late teens, 1 early teen and a 9 year old, plus DH who is in his late 40's (but turns into a 15 year old boy at Christmas!) if that makes any difference.

Howmanysleepsnow · 20/12/2021 22:29

In the unlikely event anyone isn’t finished, I have a code for £10 off a £100 spend online at Argos.

@2319inprogress that's really helpful thankyou.

Iknownothing · 20/12/2021 22:53

Oh help - need a last minute gift that can be posted /emailed - approx £20 for a man in 40’s - not using Amazon.

Usernamewhoknows · 20/12/2021 23:15

Argh I thought I was done and dusted weeks ago but I now need to buy for 2 girls aged almost 8 & 5, probably around £10ish each, don’t have to be the same gift but similar theme probably works best. Parents like ‘wholesome’ presents if that makes sense. Has anyone got any ideas please? Need by Dec 30th so doesn’t necessarily need to be from somewhere that delivers before Friday! Thank you in advance for any ideas

dcadmam · 20/12/2021 23:20

@Haveyoubrushedyourteeth
Alcohol miniatures for older ones
Mini stollen bars
Bag of chocolate coins for younger ones
Hand creams
Lip balms
Bottle openers

VividImaginationAgain · 20/12/2021 23:26

@Usernamewhoknows

Good quality colouring book and coloured pencils
Nice pencil case and contents
Purse/wallet with a couple of coins in it.
Board game
Reading books

You may well get some good bargains once the sales have started.

VividImaginationAgain · 20/12/2021 23:32

@Usernamewhoknows

I bought Melissa and Doug wooden bead set from Amazon for a 6 year old and it was very well received. Also their sticker books are lovely.

Methenyouplus4 · 20/12/2021 23:42

@Haveyoubrushedyourteeth can I ask where you got your crackers from please?

Another late recommendation please, a small/lightweight single pan camping stove?

Not for camping but for my forest school obsessed son so he can heat a can of food etc on walks.

Not the heat over logs type as we have things for the garden, needs to be something we could pop in a rucksack.

Also if possible, ideally one I can get on Amazon as looking unlikely I'll get to the shops now. I could collect from an Argos or Go Outdoors if they would deliver before the big day.

TwinkleTwinkleLittleStarFightr · 20/12/2021 23:49

Thank you @HotelCaliforniaOnRepeat and @2319inprogress. Great tips!
