Best frozen croissants/pain au chocolat

Thinking of getting some frozen croissants and pain au chocolate for a handy Christmas morning breakfast. Our morning is usually bedlam with so many people calling in so need something quick and easy.
No waitrose or Morrisons where we live so not there.
Thanks

I get them in Aldi and they're lovely! Pop them in the airfryer and they're done in 10 mins, very handy.

M&S are very good, Tesco less so.

NalPolishRemover · 07/12/2021 09:30

Last year I bought a bag of M&S frozen croissants, a bag of frozen pain au chocolates & a bag of frozen chocolate chip cookies & they were delicious. We didn't have them on Christmas day but we used them over the holidays. So nice to be able to make a pot of coffee & have a fresh pastry hot from the oven on a dreary cold day

I got some Pret ones from Sainsburys- they were amazing! (Although pricey!)

HollyandIvyandAllThingsYule · 07/12/2021 09:38

Aldi/Sainsbury’s/M&S/anywhere really. As long as they’re all butter they’ll be good.

Terribleluck · 07/12/2021 09:39

Prêt or Waitrose. Tesco's aren't that great.

JustWonderingIfYou · 07/12/2021 09:41

Picard from ocado are the best!

Waitrose close 2nd.
Aldi are edible.
Iceland are absolute suite.
M&s are passable

QueenLagertha · 07/12/2021 09:44

I love Tesco ones. Prefer them to sainsburys. Must try the M&S ones for Xmas.

I put them in the air fryer for 7/8 minutes at 180oc. Delicious

Nahhh · 07/12/2021 09:44

Good luck finding them at the moment. There’s been quite the shortage around here recently.

ZeroFuchsGiven · 07/12/2021 09:46

Never tried frozen ones but the jus roll ones take minutes to prepare and shove in the oven, You could prepare them the night before and leave in fridge on a baking tray then shove in the oven for 15 mins and done.

LefttoherownDevizes · 07/12/2021 09:46

Another vote for the Picard from Ocado ones. In fact pretty much anything Picard

VitalsStable · 07/12/2021 09:46

Tesco do Pret ones which are the best we've found.

CarrotPuff · 07/12/2021 09:46

Not frozen, but Jus Rol are very easy to just bung in the oven

DoraDont · 07/12/2021 09:52

Picard or Waitrose.

piggybenben · 07/12/2021 10:00

Just-roll is very lovely

Gingercatlover · 07/12/2021 10:01

Love the Tesco ones.
But they haven't been in stock for the last few weeks 😕

Skysblue · 07/12/2021 10:08

Sainsburys are ok if you have one. The best are Waitrose but that doesn’t work for you unless get delivery.

I find M&S way too salty. Same with their bread. It’s very strange.

LadyPenelope68 · 07/12/2021 10:26

Picard or M&S definitely

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 07/12/2021 10:50

M and s are great I'm just baking some right now!

Knitter99 · 07/12/2021 10:57

Another vote for Tesco but there were none in ours at the weekend. Jus-rol are also tasty but take some effort. Only about 3 minutes of effort right enough, but still....

Snoken · 07/12/2021 11:08

I buy Pret chocolate croissants from Sainbury's, they are lovely.

Girlking · 07/12/2021 11:19

Jus-Rol are great and take minutes to prepare.
They are on offer in Sainsburys at the moment.
I baked the cinnamon and the chocolate ones for my son this morning.
The cinnamon ones come with a small pot of icing sugar which you add a little water to to drizzle over the top.
Yummy 😋

Shewholovedthethebanhills · 07/12/2021 11:24

I find the Jus-Rol ones inedible so it’s clearly a personal taste issue! Sainsburys ones are okay I think. Better thawed and cooked for a shorter time than recommended.

Related: does anyone else find that if you put two in the oven side by side one always ends up fat and the other thin?
