Has he always had a stocking previously? If so then yes I would. My mum still makes me one and I'm 50 Grin

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 05/12/2021 09:34

If you are visiting them, surely they'll be making one for you?

aprilanne · 05/12/2021 09:35

Yes of course jings I get a row if I forget the advent calendars never mind the stocking

Disfordarkchocolate · 05/12/2021 09:36

I send mine stocking fillers every year 🎄

Dozer · 05/12/2021 09:37

Not if DC are adults

ParkheadParadise · 05/12/2021 09:39

Yes, I always had a stocking at my mum's house.🎅🎅

evilharpy · 05/12/2021 09:43

MIL did one for us for years.

Chunkymenrock · 05/12/2021 09:45

No, I certainly wouldn't. In our house, stockings stop when you turn 18. I'm not going on forever with it all. Stockings were only ever small bits though. Still obvs give presents to each other. Time to do something a bit more mature, like taking a bottle of mulled wine or a Boxing Day surprise, perhaps?

Itsnotdeep · 05/12/2021 09:49

Yes I think I'll carry on doing stockings - my older dc are at university now and still get stockings.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 05/12/2021 09:52

Does he have a partner? I do DHs, he does mine.

LindaEllen · 05/12/2021 10:00

Father Christmas still comes to me and I'm 31 :D.

If I never admit I don't believe, he won't stop!

JenniferWooley · 05/12/2021 10:01

@aprilanne

Yes of course jings I get a row if I forget the advent calendars never mind the stocking

😂 me too

OP DD1(21) comes over on Christmas Eve for dinner & brings her stocking to hang along with her sisters (DD2 is 20) then I take it to her on Christmas Day once "Santa" has filled it.

JustThisLastLittleBit · 05/12/2021 10:01

Our deal is that DC get stockings until they marry. Result: I’m still doing stockings for them - and their partners in long-term, unmarried relationships! Weirdest reason ever not to marry 😂. They all club together and do a good one for me though 😊

ncsmummy · 05/12/2021 10:02

My kids are 19 and 17 now and they both still get their stockings. I plan to always do them - it’s tradition for us now

didireallysaythat · 05/12/2021 10:02

I wish someone would do a stocking for me ... My mother stopped when I was 10 maybe, I do one for the kids, can't be arsed to do one for my husband as it's just more homework for me and noone in the house ever stops and thinks "I wonder why didi" didn't get a stocking (and yes I've done the hints)

AlfonsoTheUnrepentant · 05/12/2021 10:04

It's a lovely gesture. Please do so!

Dyerun · 05/12/2021 10:04

My 23 yo still gets one, even though I don't usually see her until boxing day

IWasWillingToGoWassailing · 05/12/2021 10:05

We do stockings until you set up your own home and have your first Grown Up Christmas Morning there (and agree you've had your last stocking). So this year, I will do stockings for DS1 and partner (both 20) who are coming here; but not for DS2 and partner (both 18) who are having Their Own Christmas. I think I will be down to 2 stockings next year, for DD and DS3.

InTheLabyrinth · 05/12/2021 10:06

Everyone gets stocking on Christms day if you wake up at my house or at my mothers house.
It's variable who makes it tho.

Nitgel · 05/12/2021 10:07

No not if they have moved out.

ABCeasyasdohrayme · 05/12/2021 10:12

My ds has moved out and he still gets a santa PNP video 😂 so I'm never stopping doing stockings.

lockitdown · 05/12/2021 10:18

I would

MrsLargeEmbodied · 05/12/2021 10:21

ds was never really fussed i dont think

My mum still does stockings. I’m 35, moved out 11 years ago and have been married for 9. She also does one for my dh & db/dsis & any partners. Now I have 2 dc and we have to coordinate so that we don’t put the same things in their stockings! We’re not together first thing so they get opened with other presents. I don’t think she’ll ever stop. I was, however, very upset the first year that she didn’t buy me an advent calendar Grin

Heathcliff27 · 05/12/2021 10:32

This is the first year (in 26 years) that we won't have santa visiting us. My DD asked if we would still get stockings as santa always did those. We've picked names and are doing "secret stockings"
