Yes my DH would like them. Check out Tretorn also gb.tretorn.com/men/accessories/bags

WeeM · 03/12/2021 23:52

I nearly bought one of them as a gift as they look lovely but there’s quite a lot of bad comments/reviews so it put me off as I wasn’t sure if they were legit. I think they maybe come from China and some saying they’ve been waiting ages for them/not received/couldn’t get response from customer service etc Confused

Skinnytailedsquirrel · 03/12/2021 23:56

It's horrid. It's like a big oversized brick. No style at all. My OH certainly wouldn't put that on his back.

greenlynx · 04/12/2021 00:03

It looks really nice, lots of pockets and space for a laptop. I think it’s more for short one night trips but too big as everyday bag but depends what you are after.
My DH would moan a bit that it’s too expensive. However if it’s perfect ….

Forgetaboutme · 04/12/2021 00:05

Wouldn't be my dhs taste but nothing wrong with it if your husband likes it.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 04/12/2021 00:08

Mine would prefer a trip to Go Outdoors.

Luredbyapomegranate · 04/12/2021 00:29

It’s Ok - very boxy - there are a few backpack threads around so look at a few. A slightly more classic shape might be safer.

onlychildhamster · 04/12/2021 00:30

@greenlynx my DH uses his backpack to put groceries in (we are car free) so I am thinking this would make that easier ! He also gets groceries on his way back from work.

Would a top opening one be easier for groceries?

ArblemarchTFruitbat · 04/12/2021 00:40

Mine was very happy with the backpack I got him a couple of years ago - but he chose it himself from Millets.

It seems to me a bit like buying a handbag for the woman in your life - if you've any sense, you'll let her choose her own!

bananaboats · 04/12/2021 11:10

My DH wouldn't like it but you'll know if its his style.

Disfordarkchocolate · 04/12/2021 11:12

I like the look of the Treton ones, for myself though.

greenlynx · 04/12/2021 11:41

I’ve just showed the link to my DH. He said that it would be great for short traveling but too bulky for everyday, was horrified about the ideas using it for shopping. He wouldn’t put milk, bread etc with his precious laptop and papers. He usually just has a reusable bag in his pocket.
It’s actually advertised as for traveling as it’s lightweight and water resistant.

Lonelycrab · 04/12/2021 11:47

Personally I don’t like the style. Looks like a shrunken suitcase with straps attached. That’s not to say your dh might not like it, but I think the idea of letting him choose his own would be a safer option.

onlychildhamster · 04/12/2021 12:00

@greenlynx we don't buy milk or bread as I don't eat either! But My DH does put the groceries in his bag. Usually veg... He doesn't carry his laptop around much...

Thanks for showing your DH though!

Thank you for the link. My DH is currently looking on Nordace Bergen Lightweight daily backpack with great interest…
I’ve got him Christmas present already but it’s certainly something for the future.

HalfHolly · 04/12/2021 12:52

I'm just putting this out there: Sabichi 184450 Essential Zippy Stripe 2 Wheel Shopping Trolley, 40ltr Capacity, 92.5 x 34 x 30cm www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06WP7TTWG/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_RD6PD91X2BSJN5MA2AFB?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Not a backpack but I'm car free too and I think it becomes inevitable 😁

onlychildhamster · 04/12/2021 13:01

@HalfHolly we have a trolley too but we tend to do our shopping sporadically so we don't often have the trolley with us!

OP posts:
HalfHolly · 04/12/2021 13:07

Fair enough Only. I'm in much the same boat with a backpack for work things but no room for shopping. I just use a fabric roll up bag. But I think in years to come a trolley will happen!

HalfHolly · 04/12/2021 13:08

My backpacks are usually Jansport ones.

countrygirl99 · 04/12/2021 13:15

If he doesn't use it for a laptop he might prefer sn Osprey one.

Riverlee · 04/12/2021 13:18

Looks more like a work backpack, not a shopping one.

xyzandabc · 04/12/2021 13:23

If it's for putting shopping and groceries in, that ones looks too rigid, more shaped for keeping papers and work things flat.

I'd go for a softer more fabricy one that can be flexible to fit different shapes items in.

ImInStealthMode · 04/12/2021 13:23

Showed DP who is a frequent backpack user.

'Plenty of pockets and it looks sturdy, yep, seems good'.

He is getting this one for Christmas as his old one is knackered now.

Would your DH be happy with this as a present- Backpack
IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 04/12/2021 13:36

DH would use it, but for the money, would prefer a Patagonia Refugio
