Worried as DD’s pile looks tiny, she’s not girly and is quite young for her age (ASD) but says she doesn’t want anything that she doesn’t need or won’t use. I have bought her….

Fake oodie
Switch controller
Switch joycons
Pokemon game for her switch
Lava lamp
Board game
Kinder selection box
2 T-shirt’s
Lush snow fairy body spray

It looks much better written down but when wrapped it doesn’t look like much compared to what her younger sister has. I’m sure she will be happy with all of it. What are your 17/18 year olds getting?

My dd 18 and also ASD is getting a Garmin smart watch (so she can monitor her stress levels) fake oodie, some awful boots, bath bombs, Fatface box of socks. One sibling has bought her a switch game the others have bought her one of the dolls she collects. I might buy her a heated throw but if not she will be happy at that I hope.

TooWicked · 26/11/2021 17:54

DS17 is getting an Apple Watch.

And then his stocking stuff. So chocolate and sweets, some silly socks, a pack of Oreos, a Darth Vader Lego keyring, a wallet ninja thing, and a little interlocking wood puzzle to keep him busy during the day Grin

00100001 · 26/11/2021 20:51

Oh, and a scratch card

TwigTheWonderKid · 26/11/2021 21:09

hair curling chopstick
Hotel Chocolate fondue set
Bear shape marshmallow hot chocolate toppers
A selection of sweet and savoury snacks and unusual drinks from our new American Candy shop
Loads of (not cheap) chocolate

SplodgeWaddler · 26/11/2021 21:13

I haven’t bought a thing yet. It’s still November 🤷🏻‍♀️

stupiduser · 26/11/2021 21:14

A leotard and pointe shoes and some perfume. She doesn't want anything else but will get bits and pieces like smellies and sweets.

LadyMacbethWasMisunderstood · 26/11/2021 21:41

DD2 is 17

She has to come:

Oodie
Fox & Hound sweatshirt
Adidas trainers
Sports bag
Sports clothes
Pantaloons from the US (cottage core look)
Waistcoat from Joe Browns
White pirate style shirt
Various unusual pairs of socks I’ve collected over the year
Nose ring from Regal Rose
Watercolour paints
Music box that plays the theme tune from Howls Moving Castle
Beauty and the Beast glass
Ragged Priest Jumper
Vintage amethyst ring.

The watercolours and jumper and trainers and sports bag she has asked for. The rest she doesn’t know about but will really like. She has quite a quirky style and slightly unusual tastes.

Rivermonsters · 26/11/2021 22:02

I’m 17 and asked for:

  • Ronald Reagan pop vinyl
  • pillow for bedroom
  • kill bill 2 DVD
  • Facts don’t care about your feelings by Ben Shapiro
  • and some surprises
Mumwithbaggage · 26/11/2021 22:34

Dd is 18 in January (child 4 and the only one at home). Had to google Oodie. Not buying dd or anyone else one of those! When did they become a thing??

All she really wants is clothes and perfume. Will buy the perfume and she'll get money for clothes.

ZandraPlackett · 26/11/2021 22:41

My 18 yr old with ASD would love those gifts. I’ve got mine a few things - a set of squishmallows from Costco ( big and cute!) a popcorn maker and the bits to go with it, a Pokémon bear factory bear ( she does love cuddlies), a new lunchbox and Lego flowers. We are also going for Afternoon tea and a manicure.

BloodyAlarms · 26/11/2021 23:15

DS19

3rd Gen ipods
Pj's
Chocolate
Marshmallow/Chocolate kit
Lush stuff

Our DC’s sound very similar, dd is desperate for squishmallows 🤣, I will be trying to find one for her birthday, she loves her soft toys and has loads (they are taking over the house), she bought a huge Pokemon Evie from Smyths this week.

I have got her a Pokemon dressing gown from Emp for her birthday and am getting her a zoo experience (red pandas) and would love to find a red panda squishmalllow.

Theoldwoman · 27/11/2021 08:30

maffhew · 27/11/2021 08:30

@SplodgeWaddler

I haven’t bought a thing yet. It’s still November 🤷🏻‍♀️
What a helpful contribution.

The 'it's still november' brigade have got right on my tits this year.

maffhew · 27/11/2021 08:35

I've found places like B&M and home bargains have been good for gifts for this age group for things that will get used and then they're gone such as nice hot chocolate sets, coffee syrups etc.

I seem to have bought more stocking filler type things to open then will give money.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 27/11/2021 08:53

For dd (17)

Weighted blanket.
Fake oodie.
Pair of samsung wireless earbuds. (Only thing she has actually shown an interest in and said she would like but didnt ask for.
Bubble tea making slection box.
Plushie in the shape of a cup of bubble tea.
Sweets.
Hot chocolate sachets.

She and her sister (21) dont want separate stockings anymore so it all goes in one pile together.

LadyMacbethWasMisunderstood · 27/11/2021 09:33

OP if your DD likes red pandas I got mine a Ravensdale Red Panda mug last year. Really nice quality mug. Large. Good picture on it.
