As in the title really. Not into labels and doesn't really play with games anymore. I am completely stuck this year. Anyone with really great ideas? It really is a very difficult age

Well mine wants gaming stuff for his PC but if I wasn’t getting that I’d be looking at a Raspberry Pi. I’ve just got the personal computer for my 10 year old and I’m impressed.

I’m also probably getting a cuddle cushion/chair thing and fluffy blankets.

LED lights were a hit last year as was the oculus. Air pods? Camera?

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 22/11/2021 17:57

Hoodies - hoodies again - and then more hoodies.

EMP is good for slightly off center stuff otherwise any of the big sports names.

Sweets, crisps, fizzy drinks - the things you usually try to restrict.

Another vote for fluffy blankets, my DS loves them.

So far, we’ve got our 13 year old

Lava lamp
Cuddle cushion and blanket
Oodie
New jacket
T shirt
Hoodie
Shower speaker
Trainers
Gaming head set
Clock for his room - he’s not allowed his phone in his room overnight so this is for the time.
Spotify voucher.

Experience day i.e scuba diving, drive a lambourghini, zoo keeper for the day depending on what he's interested in.

Mellowyellow222 · 22/11/2021 20:58

For the hoodie idea - what labels are boys that age into?

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 22/11/2021 21:01

@Mellowyellow222 any of the big sports brands names like Nike, Adidas etc.. Also Hollister, Bench, North Face.

Last year we bought son a huge cricket net for garden and bowling machine for cricket playing. It was second hand but still hugely expensive and more than we usually spend on one child. He plays on the net every single day. This year asked what he wanted. He said a couple of new hoodies and selection pack. I asked what be about his big present. He smiled and said he had everything he wants, then paused and said new trainers.

I feel your pain - I have 15 and 13 year old DS’ and they’re very hard to buy for this year!

Some ideas I’m looking into:

Ifly vouchers
Hoodies/joggers - one is into brands, one isn’t
Cuddle cushion from dunhelm for when chilling out in their room
Bath bombs - a lady local to me does them in pokemon/Fortnite shapes
Books
One loves Percy pigs so I’ve bought him some of the collection M&S have
Funko pops always go down well

Could you possibly send me details of the bath bomb supplier? Thank you.

Mine is 15 but never really asks for much. Is looking the Alexa with the clock and the led strip lights that work with it. New ear buds. Money to buy clothes in the sales (he's getting very sensible!) Toiletries and something called a lazy arm that attaches to his bed but holds the phone. Also hot him a chromebook.

banjaxxed · 22/11/2021 22:42

Hoodies - Nike, Adidas, North Face or Kings Will Dream
Blanket
He got LED lights for his room last year and AirPods
After shave/smellies
'Adult' Lego (the Star Wars ones)

Hoody (Nike, under armour, hollister)
Chilly bottle
Oodie
Japanese sweets and drinks
Candy kittens
Astronaut food

AirPods
Sport socks (under armour)
Hot chocolate bombs
Boxers
Training mat
Go karting voucher
Exploding kittens/bear vs babies/rummikub sort of board games
Electric shaver
Aftershave
Trainers
books of interest/hobby
Mountain bike

Shodan · 22/11/2021 22:55

I bought ds2 a 4 x 4 driving experience for his birthday - that went down brilliantly!

I've ordered bath bombs from Etsy- one is shaped like a gaming controller, the other is like a hand grenade I think.

His elder brother at that age really liked the electric throw I bought him.

Swiss army knives have been well-received at that age too.

And the mini nerf guns they both got in their stockings were a huge success too.

SheisMammyof2 · 22/11/2021 23:01

Echo Dot and smart light for his room
Electric guitar pedal
Noise cancelling headphones
Smartwatch
Hammock
FIFA game
Soccer jersey
Band tshirt
Books

Timeisavirtue · 22/11/2021 23:22

Got my 13 year old DS
Gaming laptop
Wireless keyboard and mouse
Alton towers monopoly at his request
He doesn’t like football or anything other than gaming so it’s very hard...
Got him some other random bits for his stocking.

HauntedDishcloth · 23/11/2021 00:19

Massive beanbag
Escape room voucher

Kyliealwayshadthebestdisco · 25/11/2021 02:25

My son is a similar age and is definitely getting trickier to buy for. Has a Kindle which he loves and a graphics drawing pad. Fortunately he loves a YouTube channel that does lots of merch and always have good deals on Black Friday even if I do have to pay import taxes and shopping from the US argh! But he appreciates clothing from there which is good as he generally still doesn’t count normal clothes or shoes etc as a “real” present! There is a Switch game he wants. And some anime drawing stuff. Red bubble is a good site for stuff from their favourite TV shows or movies or games. For clothes it is Hollister all the way here unless it’s something from a YouTuber! - actually he isn’t at all fussed about labels but loves how comfy and colourful their clothes are. He wants new board games too and will get him the Taskmaster book. Last year I got him a Slush Puppy maker randomly which went down very well. Was thinking of getting him an ice cream maker or a waffle maker which I can then pinch this year lol. He also really loves those little steampunk style moving wooden puzzle kits like from ROKR etc.

CoffeeChocolateWine · 25/11/2021 10:55

My DS has birthday and Christmas coming up and has asked for FIFA 22, his favourite team’s football kit and a battery charging case for his phone.

He’s also getting (from us and extended family)…
Ear buds
Nike rucksack for school
V8 model engine (he likes building things!)
Echo dot
Book on world history
Topgear ultimate supercars book
Chilly bottle
Logo board game
Bundle of books
Water colour paints and brushes
Smellies
Sweet hamper.

MsWalterMitty · 27/11/2021 07:16

I’m really struggling too!

Soo far he has a gaming chair!

Monday55 · 27/11/2021 07:30

You could just ask him what he wants. Maybe get him to do a list and you'll pick one or two things that fits within your budget.
