Where to eat in Edinburgh near kings theatre

We've booked the panto at kings theatre and was hoping for some restaurant recommendations

We are staying in the centre of Edinburgh so hoping to either eat near the theatre or York place area

It needs to be suitable for children (9&6) and ideally not overly expensive, maybe £20 adults, £10 kids sort of budget

I'd like to be able to book rather than walk in

Any suggestions?

It's def at kings not the playhouse

I wouldn't fancy going to Wotherspoons, it's a lovely building but it's not very nice to eat there.
Also if you have a disability it might be difficult for you getting to your toilets, there are a lot of steps.

I’d go for bar Italian on Lothian road, been there for years, super relaxed.

Wetherspoons on George St will be absolutely packed on a Friday with people out after work. I’d stay well clear!

Sorry just seen it’s a Tuesday. Is it in December? Because you can’t book tables I’d say no. There are definitely a million nicer places to go!

Thought the same about Bar Italia. Good for families. Still a bit of a walk up to the Kings but could take a taxi if needed.
