I can't find any I really like and I need quite a lot of it without spending a fortune. Please show me yours and say where you got it๐ŸŽ„

I like red, silver and blue colours best. I've tried Tesco, M&S, Asda, card factory so far.

I am placemarking as I can't find much I like that will ship to me in EU.
May end up with Next multi packs but they don't inspire.
I love wrapping but I need beautiful paper to satisfy me. I wanted to do all greens and whites and silver this year. Snowy forests.
Mistletoe and ivy.
Can't bloody find any though.

IKEA has surprisingly nice paper. Next definitely has red and blue sets.
TheWoollybacksWife · 04/11/2021 18:23

I don't need any wrapping paper but I've been browsing.

The blue/gold one is from Dunelm. It doesn't seem to be online but it might be in store. ยฃ6 for 3 x 2m rolls.

The red set is from Matalan and is ยฃ5 for 4 x 1.5m rolls.

I bought a huge roll of red Kraft paper from John Lewis last year. I think it might have been about ยฃ7 but it wrapped all my son's presents (a mixture of large and small gifts) and I've got enough left for this year.

For very big things try Bike bags. I bought my DH a potting bench last year and wrapped it in a bike bag.

Got these two from M&S outlet yesterday (so not sure if they are current or old design). ยฃ1 each.

Tesco normally satisfies as does the card factory but there was nothing. I'll try the bigger card factory and I'd forgotten Matalan and next doing paper. I could go into the nearest big town I guess. I've forgotten these places exist since covid. WHSmith was always my go to years ago.

I bought some plain paper from B&M. ยฃ1 a roll.
I've gone for pinks and silvers.

I've bought some lovely bundles of ribbon at 50p each from Boyes and will make some home made/painted gift tags and use sprigs of ivy, cinnamon, and fake berries on florist wire for decorating.

They will look lovely when I've finished...I used to spend a fortune on wrapping paper which is only put in the recycling bin when unwrapped.

Crackery · 04/11/2021 19:19

I'm going to use black kraft paper this year with hessian ribbon and add some greenery...

Paperchase has some snowy trees.

Home bargains, matalan and tkmaxx i buy paper from and gift bags are nice from home bargains but not seen them yet this year, have last years to reuse!

Annexlife · 05/11/2021 07:44

If you can, please look out for paper that is made from recycled materials and can be recycled itself. It really surprised me how many wrapping papers can't be recycled. WHSmith do a few this year and are in their 3 for 2.

Kirst26 · 05/11/2021 10:23

Got some lovely ones on 3 for 2 at Clintons, would recommend

muldersspeedos · 05/11/2021 11:08

I'm planning on buying recyclable paper. I do have some brown paper I could jazz up for some.

Have bought (relevant) tea-towel for each of several relatives, and will give a further gift wrapped in the reversed tea-towel, tied with appropriate ribbon. Expensive "wrapping paper", but will last and hopefully give them all a giggle

Dillidilly · 05/11/2021 11:48

I'm planning on using brown paper again, but this year wrap a length of wide red ribbon I'd forgotten I had around the right-hand end, with red and white twine tied in a knot over the top if that makes sense.
Then at the left-hand side I'm going to write the name on the paper in white or black Sharpie parallel to the ribbon, so sideways as you look at the present. Either in a wonderful but very fiddley nordic font I discovered last year, or in the classic up and down farmhouse font.

idontlikealdi · 05/11/2021 11:51

I use brown paper, with nice ribbon and a holly leaf for the gift tag. When the kids were younger they used to potato stamp it with Christmas shapes.

Now the paper can be recycled, ribbon reused.

SameToo · 05/11/2021 11:54

I wanted to get some lovely recycled wrapping paper this year but my twat toddler unwrapped a role in Morrisonโ€™s whilst I was picking cards so now I have some awful Brussel sprouts one GrinHmm

WombatChocolate · 05/11/2021 12:26

We are actually using newspaper this year.
You might think it sounds daft and mean, but we just decided it was such a waste and we didnโ€™t even need the recycled stuff. So we are using newspaper and saved magazines for a bit of colour.

No doubt some will thing itโ€™s being a Scrooge, but Indont think we will enjoy Christmas any less for it.

Equimum · 05/11/2021 13:16

I picked up some black and dark green Kraft paper in hobby craft this morning. I have some Christmas stamps and a gold ink pad, so Imm going to put something together with those, wrap with twine and decorate with some mini pine cones.

I was disgusted last year at the amount of wrapping paper we couldn't recycle. Apparently if it screws up it's fine, if it bounces back it's not. Most of ours wouldn't scrunch up and it had to go in the general waste, the shame Blush

I'm not making that mistake again this year.

BestofLuck · 05/11/2021 13:29

Don't have it with me to send a photo, but I picked up some nice wrapping paper in Wilkos. All styles in this particular range are recyclable so not even in plastic wrap, so will use this and plain brown paper from last year.

Jabbawasarollingstone · 05/11/2021 13:30

The Range have some nice paper.

desperatehousewife21 · 05/11/2021 14:32

If you like slightly alternative wrapping paper this is from cult curiosities on Etsy (theyโ€™re also on insta)

Think I paid about ยฃ7 for three large sheets and also comes with 3 gift tags.

We have a range too. I'll go into town next week.

I also want to find recycled and recyclable paper. Have been pleased to see plastic free wrapping paper in a lot more places this year.
