Interested to hear the wishlists.

I'm also looking for suggestions of slightly more luxury versions of toiletries that your DD's enjoy for my DD.

OP posts:

Molton brown bath stuff, the rose something went down well last year. Gingerlily is nice too.
Anastasia Beverly Hills brow wiz is her favourite product.
Not cosmetics but she's big into houseplants and cacti so probably get some of those though not sure how to wrap them!

BigSandyBalls2015 · 04/10/2021 13:47

Christmas and birthdays get harder when they earn their own money and can buy things themselves. However, my DD loves perfume but won't splash out loads on it so I think I might treat her to her favourite, Chanel Mademoiselle. My other DD has taken a shine to the new Lego Adidas trainer Grin.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 04/10/2021 13:48

Oh and a beauty advent calendar is part of one DDs Christmas present.

MaudLively · 04/10/2021 14:23

You made it sound like ‘whatever your dd’s enjoy - mine will want something more superior so please suggest better for my dd

Hmm

No, she's looking for slightly more luxury items - things people's DD's might like and can recommend to her.

Sparkletastic · 04/10/2021 14:41

Glossier shower gel and body lotion.
Huda eyeshadow palette
MAC lipsticks
I'm a Beauty Pie member so will get her a load of skincare and scented candles from there.

notacooldad · 04/10/2021 14:44

Sorry I have nothing to contribute but I'm following because I need to buy for both son's girlfriends and want to get it right!!

It sounded nothing like that, can't believe two of you were flummoxed by it Confused

My sons girlfriend just turned 20 and I bought her an electric make up brush cleaner thing as well as some bits of makeup and a clothes voucher, she absolutely loved the brush cleaner so would definitely recommend that.

For Christmas I'm making her a little stocking with some perfume and makeup bits and sweets, I think for her main present I'll get her tickets to a concert since she's never been to one as an adult.

Crikey is it really that hard to understand what the op is asking

I’m struggling this year too but agree with Molton brown, tarte makeup seems to go down well here, I’m looking for a weighted blanket. Also a bottle of something nice, a better quality spirit for example than she’d normally buy. I always do nice new pjs and slippers too.

I know it doesn't sound like that but it did when I skim read it.it's not a big deal, I just re read the post!

rocksteadyfreddy · 04/10/2021 16:21

Cult Beauty are releasing some mixed gift boxes soon which look like amazing ideas for higher end products.

Innocenta · 04/10/2021 16:24

I don't think Molton Brown is all that nice tbh! But I'm very picky.

Suggest (especially if vegan) Le Labo, Roen, Hourglass (unless DD very woke, as they're getting some criticism on this front, I think), Farmacy, Olaplex, Aesop, Malin & Goetz, Nailberry nail varnish (if doing nails at home). Lush products but not the childish ones!

Catherine Tough socks and Rococo chocolates are good little stocking fillers and nicer quality than young girls but for themselves.

Innocenta · 04/10/2021 16:25

*buy (not 'but'!)

RJnomore1 · 04/10/2021 16:50

Cult did some beauty boxes last year which were great, I’d look out for them. Next have some nice boxes too (not somewhere I’d think to look normally)

Maverick66 · 04/10/2021 16:55

@Ionlydomassiveones

“I'm also looking for suggestions of slightly more luxury versions of toiletries that your DD's enjoy for my DD.”

Bit presumptuous. Did you mean this to sound so rude?

It isn't rude at all.

The OP just wants to know which are the popular ones for that age group. When they hit 20+ they tend to stop buying Superdrug toiletries & eyeshadow and go for stuff that's on trend (and costs silly money, but it's what they want). Something that their mums, including me, have no clue about.

floofycroissant · 04/10/2021 17:04

Glossier! Lovely stuff and lovely for a natural look.

Yes the animal cruelty point is a good one, Dd won’t have Mac anymore so check of that’s a consideration.

MaisyMary77 · 04/10/2021 18:28

My daughter has asked for a Danish language course and art supplies. I’m also getting her some Legend of Zelda bits and bobs. She’s never really been into make up or fashion!

Seesawmummadaw · 04/10/2021 18:34

A couple of books that she’s been wanting, vinyl and new walking boots

MrsDoctorDear · 04/10/2021 18:53

@LateDecemberBackInLowB12 love the idea of a make up brush cleaner. Which one do you recommend?

bizzey · 04/10/2021 18:54

Oh ..thank you OP for starting this thread .
I have no daughters ..only 3 sons ...and I am stumped on what to get
Ds1 's new(1st girlfriend to join our family) 21st birthday and Christmas presents .

She is vegan ,with beautiful afro type hair .
I would love suggestions on mini things that she could try .
As a university student , it is expensive to get the wrong thing .

Never had to buy " girl " things before .
Thanks .

bizzey · 04/10/2021 18:55

I was thinking of doing her a hamper type of bits .
