Films for Christmas afternoon (don't have to be Christmassy)

Once as the children were beyond the age of playing with toys, we've often watched a film between the Christmas Dinner and the pudding. After that we might play cards or a board game.

We are all adults, but the films have tended to be family films as they are easy to watch/follow so can still chat and drink wine.
Definitely don't have to be Christmassy.
Things like the Incredibles, Lego movie, Cars, Wallace & Grommit.
We try to find one none of us have seen, which is the main challenge. Any suggestions please?

Arthur Christmas is the best film ever!

Sn0tnose · 29/09/2021 19:41

You could go a bit retro and do the original Star Wars, or Indiana Jones, Wayne’s World, Back to the Future, Ferris Buellers Day Off, Monster Squad, Goonies, Santa Claus the Movie

New film recommendations would be Cruella with Emma Stone (really quite good) or one of the Christmas films on Netflix. The Christmas Chronicles with Kurt Russell was really good and there’s a second one out now.

@RockingMyFiftiesNot we love The Polar Express on Christmas Eve since the kids were little and the original version of Charlie and the Chocolate factory! Also, Home Alone 1 and 2 are great for adults and kids! We'll never get fed up of watching any of those films... We don't tend to get around to watching a full film on Christmas Day though with all the cooking and over indulging but usually there's one of the old classic James Bond movie on an some point during the early evening - it's almost like a tradition now!
