I have done sod all and I just don't feel motivated about it this year

TwotzThenightbeforechristmas · 05/12/2007 12:31

LL's your girl for spreadsheets

I'd better not mentioned my online shopping delivery for Friday 21st all booked and done!

CarmenerryChristmas · 05/12/2007 12:32

Anseo

ProjectIcarus · 05/12/2007 12:32

nothing.

am going to do a spreadsheet too .

Prunie · 05/12/2007 12:36

Anseo??

Oh good am glad I am not alone.
We have birthdays galore in Nov and Dec so it seems weird to be doing Christmas as well. Also, what are people doing that they start in September?? I genuinely can't think of anything that needs doing so soon...

And then, I think...presents...decorations...dishes...booze...socialising...maybe I should have started earlier........

Me too.
And I don't care.

Nip · 05/12/2007 12:39

i have scribbled a few ideas on a grotty piece of A4 paper at work and thats about it! I'm hoping for some divine inspiration when i get a day off next week!

ShinyHappyStarOfBethlehem · 05/12/2007 12:40

Course you haven't UQD.. you're a man.. DW will be doing it! (That was sexist wasn't it.. )

I haven't done enough. Nearly enough. No money.

UnquietDad · 05/12/2007 12:43

Well, it will all get done one way or another. As yet, Christmas has not been cancelled any year that I can recall.

Prunie · 05/12/2007 12:44

Me neither Shiny
We are doing simple things and not really pushing the boat out.
I don't really go for all the conspicuous consumption tbh

Birthdays. Ho hum.

Dh is inconsiderately the 12th of December . I find it really hard to get moving with Christmas until it is out of the way.

Minum · 05/12/2007 12:48

All I've done is practice carols on the piano - DH has made some lists, and I've sweet talked the family into inviting us for all the meals over Christmas. I am putting up the church christmas tree on Saturday, which will get me galvanised.

PrincessSnowLife · 05/12/2007 12:52

I'm signed in. Have thought about what presents to look for... have had a chat over coffee with DH about what we could have to eat on christmas day... have remembered where in the basement we put the decorations but haven't been to dig them out... DH is excited about gong out to get a tree with DS but we haven't planned when that will happen.

My mother arrives on the 18th to spend 2 weeks with us, closely followed by my father and my MIL...

So I expect there will be panics here soon enough

wheresthehamster · 05/12/2007 12:54

I'm too depressed looking for a Wii to do anything else

sagitta · 05/12/2007 12:54

We've got 10 coming to stay. I've done nothing. No plans, no food, no pressies. But my mum bought dd an advent calendar, so that's something.

Prunie · 05/12/2007 12:57

I do seem to have got myself into buying ds's presents on my parents' behalf, as well. So I get a cheque and do their Christmas shopping for them - - when exactly? Hmm????

ProjectIcarus · 05/12/2007 13:11

Have bought plane tickets.

Have browsed a couple of websites for gift ideas for those abroad.

Have vaguely thought about what to get whom locally.

Have told DP he has to sort his family's presents.

Have done nothing else. Christmas is always a low key affair in our house. Not sure if it is down to accident (read disorganisation) or by design. I suspect the former.

scattyspice · 05/12/2007 13:59

I've bought presents.
The rest is still in the loft or in Sainsburys.

kittylouise · 05/12/2007 14:03

Nothing. Nada.

I have vaguely thought about what I am going to get everyone, and have had a look online in a half-hearted fashion.

I just can't get into the spirit of the thing until a lot closer to Christmas. I love this time of year, but not thinking about it and planning everything in August.

TrinityRhino · 05/12/2007 14:06

well, I had to move early in the year sept/oct to make sure I grabbed a wii and so I have also been buying other presents for the kids
but that, apart from designating a place to put received xmas cards, is all I've done.

we got our first xmas card from some of dhs family yeserday and I have to designate a spot to put them so that when I eventually get round to writing them, I can go through the pile and not miss anyone out that has sent to us lol
how sad am I?

CarmenerryChristmas · 05/12/2007 14:06

Sorry Anseo means 'here' in Irish and what children say during role call in school. I have done very little, em except made some mincemeat but that is for pies for this weekend so doesn't really count towards the Christmas effort.
